But I assume, after disbanding the Inquisition, she would lost that too...And maybe that should be the case, since Solas knows that palce probably much better than her. Anyway till thinking about the final decision here.

 

As much as I loved Skyhold, and as much as it was my Inquisitor's home, I think staying there is a terrible, terrible idea, and not just because of Solas.

It's a political disaster too.  If you disband, holding onto the castle makes it look like you didn't disband in good faith.  If you give the Inquisition to the Divine, you should be headquartering with her, not maintaining your old independent HQ.  As relieved as my Lavellan was to be done, leaving Skyhold was very hard for her.  She probably was the last one out, locking up all the rooms, hanging the old drapes over Solas's fresco and Gatsi's murals so they wouldn't be ruined, making sure her fellow artificers hadn't left any nasty traps behind.  She probably leaves some things behind in the storage chest, for the next person who uses the fortress.

That actually we don't know. We only know that he wants return of his people and bring back the world from the time of elves, where everyone has a conscious and strong connection to the Fade - but those are very vague statements that don't necessarily imply that he wants the return of 'elven glory' or elvhen civilization: merely a world that was before (likely before Evanuris or something as well)

Lost her lover, learned that he plans to destroy the world, which would destroy his soul as well I think.

Lost her power, lost her hand.
And now her castle, the same with so many memories, mostly good ones. The murals telling the story of her Inquisition. I wonder why she's not ending up curled up somewhere crying in despair. Everything went so badly for her... I guess the only thing that keeps her going on is the need to save Solas and Thedas...from what he's planning. I'm so glad for the final scene where she planned her next move. It will keep her busy at least.

I mean fans will get pissed off a lot more than they were in ME3 when HoF, Hawke, Quizzy, Alistair, morrigan, Zevran, Fenris, tc.. all die. Could you play a DA game after all the characters you got to know on the first 3 games got murdered ?

 

My answer is no, and I suspect 90% will agree. So it follows that

You know who really helped my Inquisitor, for all of the five seconds he was there?  Ameridan.  Whenever she feels like giving up, she thinks of Ameridan, who never ever gave up, even when it was clear he couldn't win.  Who worked tirelessly for peace between elves and humans.  Who managed words of hope and encouragement for the new Inquisitor after she delivered 800 years of bad news in one breath.

 

What she really lacked for was a hero of her own.  Someone she could look up to, and Ameridan provided that.  She might not be Inquisitor any longer, but that doesn't mean she can't try to follow her predecessor's example.

Well, Ameridan is one of the coolest characters of Dragon Age for me. I love the guy even though he had only 3 minutes in the whole game.

I completely agree. He has to fail, to a certain extent, but what I think a lot of us are wondering about is if he'll bring down the veil, like Sandal predicted. 

 

There's so much story/gameplay potential if that occurs. I can definitely see Bioware having that happen, especially since it seems that's what they've been leading up to with all the game so far.

Or the next game will not be dealing with Solas directly but in finding a WAY to stop him.  Then the game after will be dealing with Solas and either you help him transition Thedas more gently with the loss of the Veil so it doesn't kill everyone, or Solas succeeds in his plan and lots of people die and the world doesn't have the Veil.  Then if they decide to continue on with other games set in Thedas they can use a world that has no Veil.

 

But I agree if we take Sandal's prophecy at face value, the Veil is going away no matter what and it would probably be the end of the Dragon Age series - though not necessarily the end of games set in Thedas.

I have been thinking a lot about the possiblity that Solas is indeed a spirit of Wisdom who was turned into Pride. An interesting thing to remember about his Wisdom friend was that it was the binding and commanding to kill that changed that Wisdom spirit into Pride.

 

Then you have this quote from Cole in Trespasser

 

"He did not want a body, but she asked him to come. He left a scar when he burned her off his face."

 

If this describes Solas being asked to come into the physical world by one of the Evanuris(or anyone powerful).....then it must have been as a slave or he was bound.

 

Then you have

 

"Bare-faced but free, frolicking, fighting, fierce. He wants to give wisdom, not orders."

 

Sounds like after taking the vallaslin off.

 

And we know Solas fought in wars and got his hands bloody.  I'm starting to think the sad story of Solas is that he was originally a spirit of Wisdom, was brought into the physical world by someone and then rebelled by taking his own vallaslin off. He then wanted to help free people....but the process led to wars and killing, etc. A process that slowly turned him into Pride.

 

Even he says that all the good press we found about him was a 'desperate' attempt to make hi look better than who he really was.

 

Then you have all the raising the Veil, bye bye Elvhenan....all that.

 

And the reason he doesn't look crazy like the Pride demons we fight? I guess since he took form so long ago. Also, if he came into the world as wisdom, then he wasn't corrupted or anything. Wisdom his friend looked like an elf also.

I think some major **** will happen, something he never predicted - just as it happened with the orb - and his plan will backfire, leading the Dread Wolf to pair up with the Inquisitor to save the world...once again. After all, the Dread Wolf is prone to making mistakes.

 

Thus his actions will spawn a whole new leitmotif for the franchise, which will be developed in a subsequent trilogy. 

 

Or he'll simply find out he must die to correct his mistake. And so, the Dread Wolf will dramatically sacrifice his own life in a noble attempt to save the People. The world survives the Apocalypse, the elves live, everybody lives.

 

And then, we are left to fight the Evanuris, who escape from the Fade thanks to Solas' attempt to fix his own mess. And to fight off this threat is none other than the Tevinter Imperium, whose leaders placed their faith in Magister Pavus out of desperation. The Imperium then joins forces with the Inquisition, much to the chagrin of the nations in Southern Thedas, leading to more political tension and perhaps war amidst the crisis. Yet another DA trilogy is born!

I doubt that will happen.

 

Solas works really fast. In one year (after he woke up), he got a whole spy network active and began his plan to bring back the empire. In the next approximate 3 years (inquisition timeline), he also made a lot of crazy things happen, even if they might have not been considered as "progress."

 

He makes change, and he does it fast. Imo, he's going to tear down the veil next game or never. That is what Trespasser seems to be eluding to.

I suggested a theory alternate to my 'turned out to be 95% true' theory months ago where I wondered if the elven gods were not spirits/demons of some description, based on values they seemed to embody and then became corrupted into.

I think it's entirely likely that the Veil will come down one way or another.  I also think it's likely that, despite Solas saying that the Evanuris are locked away forever, that the Evanuris are waking up on their own.  I base this mostly from the Whispers in Red Lyrium codex you see in the Fade during Here Lies the Abyss which I believe is about the Evanuris.  Of course, I could be wildly wrong but eh that's what I'm going with for now.

 

But then I also think the biggest threat to Thedas is the Blight.

Possibly. We know spirits can become real people thanks to Cole. Also, just pointing it out there,  there is some similarities between Solas's Dread Wolf card and a pride demon when it comes to having multiple eyes.
