I got this armor, it's not a spoiler, you get it after you do some war table post Temple of Mythal, I don't remember what I chose, perhaps it influenced whether or not I got it, I think I went with the Tevinter route, with Josephine?

 

I put it on Solas for the final battle haha, I didn't leave him in it though, I gave him his old one back (which I crafted oh so lovingly with Fade-Touched Silverite) since it's better and the sentinel armor is one of a kind.

I suggested this the other day right after playing the DLC and people debunked it based on what Solas says in the DLC. If you ask him if he's like Mythal he says something like "this is all I have ever been." Of course he could be simply omitting the fact that he has always been a elf/spirit hybrid...that Solas didn't exist until the two were joined as one.

I don't think he's a hybrid between elf and spirit. Rather, I think that every ancient elf has been a spirit first, and then gained the elven form, thus becoming part of a new race. So, Solas would always have been Solas - there was no body hopping involved. I could be wrong, of course, this is all just speculation.

pre-Veil world where magic was omnipresent? I think the village may be where he ended up after making the Veil. At which point he looks around, goes "this world sucks and I need to regain my power" and takes a couple-millenia power nap.

 

One way to look at it could be that;

If everyone in the Pre-Veil world had some degree of magical ability, perhaps Solas and the other Evanuris were distinguished by being those born with far more power than others of their kind? That would explain why he was considered "gifted" in comparison to others, and why even in a world where magic was everywhere, a child with that amount of power would have quickly gotten bored.

 

We see even in modern Thedas that there is a bell-curve when it comes to magical ability, with some mages capable of extreme feats and others barely able to cast the most simple spells. Could be that in the Pre-Veil world, the Evanuris were at the top of the curve?

This is why Solas prods Sera on occasion, trying to get her to 'sense' things about the breach. He can't understand how modern elves exist only in the mortal world, when they are intended to exist in both. Hence, why they all feel tranquil to him.

 

Imagine it like this. An elf is a bird, but you put the bird in a cage. The cage is the mortal side of the veil. That bird can keep having babies- they fill up the cage, but they never actually live out their potential of being meant to fly. There's a whole other world they are supposed to exist in, and they can't. 

 

This would also explain Kieran's confusion as to why Lavellan 'would want to look like that'. 

 

Edit: Might also be the reason why elves can't breed with other mortal races without losing their 'elfiness'!

Ooh! So this armor always been there in the base game before Trespasser? I don't think I've actually seen it before. (I've only seen shots of it on Tumblr after Trespasser was released.)

Ok, before I post in the lore thread, I thought I would post here. Hopefully to clear my head and get your feedbacks. Here is a theory of the beginning of the world, as seen by yours truly.

 

In the very beginning, the Titans existed. They are of the Earth and are the "pillars" on which all of Thedas rest. Then, there was the fade, raw with potential. And the great dragons, roaming the air. The dragons are said to be "the blood of the world" and so I posit that from dragon dreams (and potentially the titans too, as titans are alive in some way and sentient creatures) and fade potential, the first spirits appeared. Those spirits first represented the basest emotion, but as life does, they also started to evolve and reflect more and more complex emotions. The world was evolving. And then we have this banter from Cole : "They made bodies from the Earth, and the Earth was afraid. It fought back but they made it forget.

Now, my theory is that this talks of the very first elves. Spirits who used the Earth (the real, that which physically exists) to make themselves bodies. They manifested physically for the first time, becoming more than spirits. The first of those probably were the Evanuris (the initial 7, without Ghilan'nain who came later and was elevated by Andruil, or Solas who probably never was an evanuris in the first place). This represented a change, an evolution the Titans of the Earth couldn't have predicted. and they were afraid, and with good reason, as the newly created elves soon turned their gaze toward them. There was war. You can see from DEscent that a Titan moving causes havoc (and that one was basically asleep still). For newly corporeal elves, this would be a threat. As for the titans, they probably didn't want to elves to scour their surface. did they in turn create dwarves from other spirits, sundering them from the fade to attach them to their own protection at that point? It's quite possible. Or maybe they were created some other way. Beings completely tied to the Earth, which is why they have no access to the fade at all.

At the very least, we know there was war between them. We know this from Elgar'nan's codices about his going to war against something older than himself (it really reminds me of the greek myth of Zeus and the Titans there), and Mythal's codex in the deep road. So, the Evanuris go to war with the Titans and eventually win, "making them forget" by either killing them or plunging them into slumber. That would also mean that, for the first time ever, the primordial dwarves were free of the Titans' hive-mind or/and influence and it was possible for them to start their own civilization (I posit the primordial thaig is from that period and it would explain the vaguely elvish red lyrium idol).

With the war came what Solas explains. The Evanuris, on which the rest of the elves had to rely to save them from the titans, were elevated to the rank of gods. After the war and with the Earth in slumber, the elven civilization could soar and Arlathan become what we know of it.

I might be the only one, but I hope a lot of the beginning of the pantheon and all of the races origins are left up to mystery. The theories are fun, but we've got plenty to work with from what we found on in Trespasser. I hope it's left largely at that.

Pretty sure the game's writers at least have it all planned out, if only to keep the lore consistent. We might never get the entire story in game however, the same as no living human know absolutely everything about Earth and our origins.

About a month ago I read WoT 1 & WoT 2, in light of our new knowledge as well as Sandal's prophecy AND Eleni Zinovia's I thought of something.

There is a canticle which people used to try and predict the DLC's content, Canticle of Exaltations, it's a prophecy...

The verse usually referred to are titled "Portents of the Maker's return".

 

Verse 5-6, previous DLCs:

This verse speaks of Titans:

 

Seven times seventy men of stone immense

Rose up from the earth like sleepers waking at the dawn,

Crossing the land with strides immeasurable,

And in the hollows in their foortprints

Paradise was stamped, indelible.

 

This seems to speak of the Avaar:

 

And I heard from East a great cry

As men who were beasts warred with their brothers,

Tooth and claw against blade and bow,

Until one could no longer be told from the other,

And cursed them and cursed their generations.

Up until now the next verse was thought to be what we now know as the Trespasser DLC and the verse after about Corypheus.

I say nay, verses 7-9 speak of Solas and the next Dragon Age installment.

 

(7) And those who slept, the ancient ones(1), awoke,

For their dreams(2) had been devoured

By a demon(3) that prowled the Fade

As a wolf hunts a herd of deer.

Taking first the weakest and frailest of hopes,

And when there was nothing left,

Destroying the bright and bold

(8) The ninth sacred mountain(5) upon which rests

The mortal dust of Our Lady ascended(6)

Whole into the heavens, to be given high honor

In the Realm of Dreams forever.

And around it, a chorus of spirits sang:

As air can never be broken nor crushed,

The tempered soul is everlasting!"

 

(9) And I(8) looked up and saw

The seven gates of the Black City shatter,

And darkness cloaked both realms.

(1) Ancient ones could be Evanuris, or the ancient elves that are still alive in Thedas.

 

(2) If it's the Evanuris - perhaps there was an attempt to kill them off while they were in Uthenera? If it's about the ancient elves perhaps it speaks of Solas waking the ancient elves from Uthenera by visiting their dreams, possibly to prepare them for what's to come or maybe to recruit them.

 

(3) I think the demon is not a real demon (a spirit), I think it is a term used to describe Solas through a biased point of view, there is a wink to that in the next sentence in the verse that speaks of the wolf hunting deer.

 

(4) "Subtlety and ambush" fits Solas like a glove, just saying.

 

(5) It is the Frostback Mountains, they are the sacred mountains on which Temple of Scared Ashes existed. I'm not sure why "ninth" though.

 

(6) I think this is the part that made people think of Corypheus since he raised parts of the mountains in the final battle, I think this could mean one of two things: one is that it speaks of the lady herself, Andraste, who has ascended to the heavens, and was given high honor to stand by the Maker in the Fade (Realm of Dreams), two is that if you read the two first sentences together then the mountain itself ascends, so I was thinking - Skyhold. Skyhold's Veil is old, why is it old? Because it is the place where Solas put up the Veil, it may be the place from which he will try to remove it. Perhaps the process of entering the Fade in order to remove the Veil includes use of the scar the breach left in the sky. The reason I tend to believe it is not about Corypheus is because a. it seems positive, not negative, b. Corypheus' defeat could easily occur post the Descent & JoH.

 

(7) As in eternal life? The tempered soul is everlasting.. I'm wondering, does one need to go through some process so when the Veil comes down they will gain eternalness? Maybe that's why Solas is keeping this a secret? So no one will conduct the research to figure what is required to survive that chaos?

 

(8) I wanted to make sure this is obvious = "I" is Kordillus Drakon. He wrote this prophecy when he was a prince and was said to have rewritten it several times, I wonder if we had to original piece maybe it wouldn't have been so Andrastian.

The 7th verse seems to consist two parts, the first speaks of the awakening of the ancient, the second I can't really understand. It could be just a description of Fen'Harel, all of the verses are past tense, perhaps "a demon that prowled the Fade" is there to describe his actions in the distant past. He awoke them, the same guy who prowled the Fade and brought on the destruction of the Elvhen Empire.

 

The 8th verse seems to speak of Frostback Mountain as the place where the Veil will be sundered, even if the first part of the verse speaks of Andraste I believe it isn't meaningful in the context of the prophecy, seeing that Drakon rewrote this several times he may have changed it so it will be accepted and included in the Chant of Light. The verse is very ambiguous, the spirits that sing? An Andrastian will interpret it as singing about Andraste's sacrifice (she was burned after all, Andrastians see the fire as cleansing and holy, her spirit is now eternal or whatever) and how fire will cleanse the soul and will be made eternal after death, but we can also interpret it as Fen'Harel's plan. 

 

The 9th verse is short but sweet, Drakon saw the Black City, in the sky! It means the Veil was taken down and the process of the the merging already began. Another thing to note is that there are seven gates, like there are seven magisters, seven times seventy men of stone... There are 8 of the Evanuris (since I don't include Fen'Harel there anymore), if one of Evanuris is "invalid" then it fits as well. They really like number seven in this world. Edit: since Ghilan'nain joined the Evanuris at a later time, it could be that she's the "invalid".

After the gates of the Black City shatter darkness falls over the Fade and earth.

The part that darkness falls on both realms? First in Eleni Zinovia's prophecy

"The prison is breached. I see the encroaching darkness. The... the shadow will consume all..."

As well as in Sandal's prophecy "the shadows will part" that may be about the 11th verse that you can see below.

I just read people referring to her prophecy, I don't think its' about Corypheus, the Fade serves as prison to the Evanuris, also the specific use of the term "breach" in appropriate.

 

Now one of two things might have altered the prophecy:

1. Since prophecies are given by spirits (being timeless, they can predict the future to some extent) and spirits are affected by memories and feelings they probably were affected by the feelings of ancient elves when passing this prophecy to Drakon, and maybe even by the Evanuris, so Fen'Harel is depicted as a demon crushing hope and destroying the Elvhen Empire.

2. The prophecy has been rewritten several times and the person wrote it was Andrastian, he could've modified the original one to explain what he saw, a wolf-like monster prowling the Fade? Demon. What else can it be?

 

I covered my face, fearful,

But the Lady took my hands from my eyes,

Saving, "Remember the fire. You must pass

Through it alone to be forged anew.

Look! Look upon the Light so you

May lead others here through the darkness.

Blade of The Faith!"

 

This goes along with with the song of the spirits, perhaps instructions for after the Veil's sundering?

 

Now these verse are less interesting, but perhaps hide relevant content between their lines, they are titled "The Maker returns"

 

(11) In dread I looked up once more

And saw the darkness warp and crumble,

For it was thin as samite,

A fragile shroud over the Light

Which turned it to ash.

 

(12) And the Maker, clad in the majesty of the sky,

Set foot to earth, and at His touch

All warring ceased. The vicious

Beasts lady down and were quieted;

The meek lambs became bold

And rose up, casing aside their shepherds

To dance at the Maker's feet.

 

(13) From every corner of the earth

the Chant of Light echoed,

As the Maker walked the land

With Andraste at His right hand.

And they reached the gates of Minrathous,

Where once a terrible fire swept

The Light of redemption from the face of the world,

And there, the Lady of Restitution

Drew her shining sword

And plunged it into the ground at her feet, saying:

Soooooo...

Who knows if it existed in the original or added later so it won't sound like the end or the world.

If it did exist it could've been heavily modified, and if it did I'll try to analyze it based on that assumption.

 

The 11th verse speaks of the same darkness that was spoken of in the 9th verse fading away, "shadows will part".

The 12th verse seems to me to speak of slavers and slaves, beasts/shepherds = slavers, lambs = slaves. I'm kind of amused with the choice of words, shepherds shepherd lambs, lambs get eaten by wolves, wolves are beasts. It could be the Evanuris are the beasts and the shepherds are nobles? I am uncertain.

The 13th verse seems a bit pointless, it mostly speaks of Andraste and the flames that burned her outside of Minrathous, but I like to point the name Lady of Restitution, restitution is the restoration of something to its' original state.

The 14th verse is kind of nice, "let Balance be restored" (capitalized Balance, why?) as well as "and the world given eternal life".

Solas says he said he hoped Abelas would get a new name, but just knowing ‘halam’, one of the most common elvish words in the game, we know that’s full of ****.

So what is he actually saying? This one is a bit dicey since it involves assuming some of these are compound words, but I think this makes sense given context and precedent (we have a few compound words like bellanaris or adahlen;  it’s most common though in proper nouns)

Regardless of the Inquisitor’s response, Solas then delivers his elvish line.

Most of this then has a straightforward interpretation, but figuring out what is meant by ‘one-blood’ is the trick here. I think it refers to a group of related people. In other contexts, I would say ‘family’ but here I think it means the Sentinels.

From here, we can take advantage of how Elvish as a cipher is tenseless.

I just thought of a headcanon thing that might work well. I love when things click.

As far as the arm goes, and the training she will need. I'd have Dagna figure something out but in my headcanon, I had her, post- Corypheus, apprentice her brother with the Inquisition as an armorer/craftsman so he could spend a little time picking up new techniques and styles. To have her little brother play a part in this would be nice. Then they can return together and warn her family.

 

I had already planned that for a while, but yay unexpected relevance.

 

I keep thinking back to the scene if you have a love child with Morrigan.  How he tells you something like "you chose to look this way".  It seems like in older times maybe spirits/the people were able to manifest whatever shape they desired.

Maybe if we can unlock that knowledge we can get our hand back....I mean I really want this to be a thing.  If the veil comes down and we all go back to what we once were.

 

I think this ties in for non-mage characters and gives my rogue hope. My theory is that mages today are just somehow closer to the fade and able to reach it in their dreams.  Doesn't mean rogues and warriors can't they just aren't as close at birth.  I think this also allows for me to keep in touch with Solas in my dreams.  I can't manipulate the fade - I'm just not that awesome yet.  But I can traverse it because the mark showed me the path.

If Solas' story is going to be resolved in DA4, who else would like to come to a part in the game to join him - if it's made possible?

I doubt that will happen.

 

Solas works really fast. In one year (after he woke up), he got a whole spy network active and began his plan to bring back the empire. In the next approximate 3 years (inquisition timeline), he also made a lot of crazy things happen, even if they might have not been considered as "progress."

 

He makes change, and he does it fast. Imo, he's going to tear down the veil next game or never. That is what Trespasser seems to be eluding to.

 

 

I still posit that

there are bigger baddies then Solas.  If the plan is currently only for 5 games.  We've got 2 more in the original plan setup.  This to me says that the hook for the 5th one will be the biggest baddie of them all.

 

So my theory is that we lose the veil and either kill or redeem Solas by mid-game in the next game.  I'm LITERALLY praying that I'm right in this. I can't survive no resolution until DA5.  Seriously if that's the case my now toddler will probably be a tween before I get resolution on Solas.

So we stop Solas' plan. The world doesn't go bye bye, and we get Solas to change his mind and back down without having to kill him. Everything is stable again (or as stable as Thedas ever gets, anyways).

 

Now what? How would your Inquisitor continue on with Solas, or would they at all? What do you think Solas would be like and how would they cope/not cope with it? Just curious as to how you'd see everything proceeding!

 

 

Oooh, this is so interesting I had to take a crack at it while catching up:

My Lavellan didn't give up on Solas when he was trying to end her world, and she's not going to after.  But I don't think it would be easy.  At the very least, there's all the people who want Solas dead for what he attempted.  They'd have to wander and keep their heads low for a while.  Then there's all the crushing guilt that he'd be suffering.  I think, just as he deep down wanted her to stop him, some part of him wants her to punish him.  But my Lavellan's not like that, and has little patience for self-pity.  So that would be a source of some tension.  

 

I think she'd take him to the Avvar.  I did Jaws after he left, and she'd want to show him that there are people--humans to boot--capable of living in symbiotic harmony with spirits.  That the Veil's existence doesn't preclude understanding, it just makes it more difficult.  It would take a while for them to reach the same level of intimacy that they had before; he needs to learn to forgive himself, and she needs to be able to trust him again.  But I think they could make it work.

Redemption+Solas+Life.

If you're not sick of my optimism yet...

As a side note, my ALL time favorite stories are ones with redemption themes, so I'm pumped for DA4. 

 

Again, I'm building on some older posts of my own and those posted by others when I say, death might be kinda' boring for Solas. Redemption is when we fully embrace the consequences of our actions and try to right them no matter what the cost. Sometimes the cost is life, sometimes it's self image, sometimes it's a peaceful life of contentment, sometimes it's loved ones, sometimes it's everything we believe and know about ourselves, etc... I love this stuff guys and what I know is that stories where the redeeming means living to face our demons are powerful. In my mind, I'm comparing Andy Dufresne's ending (Shawshank) to Darth Vader's death and seriously....Andy made me weep like a 5 year old because it was deeeeeeeeep.  

 

This is why I think "death'" is too easy. I recall movies/books like Shawshank Redemption, Atonement, The Kite Runner, Les Miserables, To Kill a Mockingbird and can't help but dream of the possibilities here. In these stories the redeemed don't change through a sacrificial death. The depth, tragedy and triumph are realized through an internal and external struggle that might have no real end. When I recall the end of Kite Runner (the book) I can't help but marvel at the 180 the main character takes and how even at the end it's soooooo far from perfect. Yet he's finally found his inner strength and belief in himself and can face the consequences. 

 

So, I'm sooooooooooooooo deep in the optimism camp guys. Meaning, I believe Solas can be saved but his life after he gives up his version of his mission will be very difficult. Forcing him to face that reality and choosing to climb the impossible mountain is what I want. That 's deep deep stuff for Solas and he's written to be 100 percent capable of walking the hardest path. If he accepts his mistakes and somehow rebuilds the world It would be his true self realization and salvation for the elves. He is the leader to guide them out of their current state of subjugation. There is no other.

The last thing Solas says to Abelas is “Malas amelin ne halam, Abelas”.

Solas says he said he hoped Abelas would get a new name, but just knowing ‘halam’, one of the most common elvish words in the game, we know that’s full of ****.

So what is he actually saying? This one is a bit dicey since it involves assuming some of these are compound words, but I think this makes sense given context and precedent (we have a few compound words like bellanaris or adahlen;  it’s most common though in proper nouns)

Malas amelin ne halam, Abelas

(lit. Me-give one-blood you end, Abelas)

Abelas is not translated here because, being capitalized, I am treating it as a proper noun.

Before we start interpreting, we need to look at the context. Immediately before this, Solas says there is a place for him. (video here) Abelas says then that perhaps there are places the shemlen have not touched, and posits uthenara as a possible ending for him.

Regardless of the Inquisitor’s response, Solas then delivers his elvish line.

Most of this then has a straightforward interpretation, but figuring out what is meant by ‘one-blood’ is the trick here. I think it refers to a group of related people. In other contexts, I would say ‘family’ but here I think it means the Sentinels.

From here, we can take advantage of how Elvish as a cipher is tenseless.

Thus:

Malas amelin ne halam, Abelas

I will give your people an ending, Abelas.

It’s a ****** recruitment speech.

She actually also re-translated the speech the Nightmare demon gives to Solas. It's actually pretty dark.  Mostly it's

Solas: Nothing is ineveitable --- meaning non-existance/The end of the world is ineveitable.  

 

The reason he speaks around this - the words and phrases both the nightmare and he use are pretty simple(aside from harellan) and would be something a Dalish inquisitor should know. So he has to pull a Solas and speak obtusely so as not to give himself away.

I knew it! I was actually replaying that scene earlier today and with everything we've found out, I thought Solas had something up his sleeve when he said that. Thanks for that!

If Solas' story is going to be resolved in DA4, who else would like to come to a part in the game to join him - if it's made possible?

As Solas's plan stands? She'd never join up. He's made it clear that this New Arlathan is for ancient elves, and 'maybe' modern elves if they survive the veil sundering. Nope, deal breaker. She feels strongly in the dalish motto of not submitting- and that includes to her own people.

 

If the plan was amended where it did not involve genociding shems, and her people could be ensured a voice? Then she might change her mind.

About a month ago I read WoT 1 & WoT 2, in light of our new knowledge as well as Sandal's prophecy AND Eleni Zinovia's I thought of something.

There is a canticle which people used to try and predict the DLC's content, Canticle of Exaltations, it's a prophecy...

The verse usually referred to are titled "Portents of the Maker's return".

 

Verse 5-6, previous DLCs:

This verse speaks of Titans:

 

 

 

Rose up from the earth like sleepers waking at the dawn,

Crossing the land with strides immeasurable,

And in the hollows in their foortprints

Paradise was stamped, indelible.

 

This seems to speak of the Avaar:

 

 

 

As men who were beasts warred with their brothers,

Tooth and claw against blade and bow,

Until one could no longer be told from the other,

And cursed them and cursed their generations.

Up until now the next verse was thought to be what we now know as the Trespasser DLC and the verse after about Corypheus.

I say nay, verses 7-9 speak of Solas and the next Dragon Age installment.

(1) Ancient ones could be Evanuris, or the ancient elves that are still alive in Thedas.

 

(2) If it's the Evanuris - perhaps there was an attempt to kill them off while they were in Uthenera? If it's about the ancient elves perhaps it speaks of Solas waking the ancient elves from Uthenera by visiting their dreams, possibly to prepare them for what's to come or maybe to recruit them.

 

(3) I think the demon is not a real demon (a spirit), I think it is a term used to describe Solas through a biased point of view, there is a wink to that in the next sentence in the verse that speaks of the wolf hunting deer.

 

(4) "Subtlety and ambush" fits Solas like a glove, just saying.

 

(5) It is the Frostback Mountains, they are the sacred mountains on which Temple of Scared Ashes existed. I'm not sure why "ninth" though.

 

(6) I think this is the part that made people think of Corypheus since he raised parts of the mountains in the final battle, I think this could mean one of two things: one is that it speaks of the lady herself, Andraste, who has ascended to the heavens, and was given high honor to stand by the Maker in the Fade (Realm of Dreams), two is that if you read the two first sentences together then the mountain itself ascends, so I was thinking - Skyhold. Skyhold's Veil is old, why is it old? Because it is the place where Solas put up the Veil, it may be the place from which he will try to remove it. Perhaps the process of entering the Fade in order to remove the Veil includes use of the scar the breach left in the sky. The reason I tend to believe it is not about Corypheus is because a) it seems positive, not negative, Corypheus' defeat could easily occur post the Descent & JoH.

 

(7) As in eternal life? The tempered soul is everlasting.. I'm wondering, does one need to go through some process so when the Veil comes down they will gain eternalness? Maybe that's why Solas is keeping this a secret? So no one will conduct the research to figure what is required to survive that chaos?

 

(8) I wanted to make sure this is obvious = "I" is Kordillus Dragon. He wrote this prophecy when he was a prince and was said to have rewritten it several times, I wonder if we had to original piece maybe it wouldn't have been so Andrastian.

The 7th verse seems to be consist of two parts first speaks of the awakening of the ancient, the second I can't really understand. It could be just a description of Fen'Harel, all of the verses are past tense, perhaps "a demon that prowled the Fade" is there to describe his actions in the distant past. He awoke them, the same guy who prowled the Fade and brought on the destruction of the Elvhen Empire.

 

The 8th verse seems to speak of Frostback Mountain as the place where the Veil will be sundered, even if the first part of the verse speaks of Andraste I believe it isn't meaningful in the context of the prophecy, seeing that Drakon rewrote this several times he may have changed it so it will be accepted and included in the Chant of Light. The verse is very ambiguous, the spirits that sing? An Andrastian will interpret it as singing about Andraste's sacrifice (she was burned after all, Andrastians see the fire as cleansing and holy, her spirit is now eternal or whatever) and how fire will cleanse the soul and will be made eternal after death, but we can also interpret it as Fen'Harel's plan. 

 

The 9th verse is short but sweet, Drakon saw the Black City, in the sky! It means the Veil was taken down and the process of the the merging already began. Another thing to note is that there are seven gates, like there are seven magisters, seven times seventy men of stone... There are 8 of the Evanuris (since I don't include Fen'Harel there anymore), if one of Evanuris is "invalid" then it fits as well. They really like number seven in this world.

After the gates of the Black City shatter darkness falls over the Fade and earth.

The part that darkness falls on both realms? First in Eleni Zinovia's prophecy

"The prison is breached. I see the encroaching darkness. The... the shadow will consume all..."

As well as in Sandal's prophecy "the shadows will part" that may be about the 11th verse that you can see below.

I just read people referring to her prophecy, I don't think its' about Corypheus, the Fade serves as prison to the Evanuris, also the specific use of the term "breach" in appropriate.

 

Now one of two things might have altered the prophecy:

1. Since prophecies are given by spirits (since they are timeless they can predict the future to some extent) and spirits are affected by memories and feelings they probably are affected by the feelings of ancient elves, and maybe even the Evanuris, so Fen'Harel is depicted as a demon crushing hope and destroying the Elvhen Empire.

2. The prophecy has been rewritten several times, and the person wrote it  was Andrastian, he could've modified the original one to explain what he saw, a wolf-like monster prowling the Fade? Demon. What else can it be?

 

 

 

This goes along with with the song of the spirits, perhaps instructions for after the Veil's sundering?

 

Now these verse are less interesting, but perhaps hide relevant content between their lines, they are titled "The Maker returns"

 

 

Soooooo...

Who knows if it existed in the original or added later so it won't sound like the end or the world.

If it did exist it could've been heavily modified, and if it did I'll try to analyze it based on that assumption.

 

The 11th verse speaks of the same darkness that was spoken of in the 9th verse fading away, "shadows will part".

The 12th verse seems to me to speak of slavers and slaves, beasts/shepherds = slavers, lambs = slaves. I'm kind of amused with the choice of words, shepherds shepherd lambs, lambs get eaten by wolves, wolves are beasts. It could be the Evanuris are the beasts and the shepherds are nobles? I am uncertain.

The 13th verse seems a bit pointless, it mostly speaks of Andraste and the flames that burned her outside of Minrathous, but I like to point the name Lady of Restitution, restitution is the restoration of something to its' original state.

The 14th verse is kind of nice, "let Balance be restored" (capitalized Balance, why?) as well as "and the world given eternal life".

 

I think "portents of the Maker's return" is

This.. this gave me actual chills down my spine (I was listening to the dread Wolf theme at the same time, which probably didn't help). I need time to think. You're unto something big here, I'm pretty sure. All those prophecies scream of so much foreshadowing it's not even funny. Someone needs to do an in depth study of this canticle. Who was it that did the Tyrrda Brightaxe saga some months ago? We need something like this.

 

I might go back and grab all the prophecies we've been able to find in game. See if having them all on the page could bring new knowledge.
