Did anyone take the "maybe I could get married" line when talking to Cassandra? I didn't but wondering if it resulted in snark or if there was any Solas mention.

 

My Quizzy liked Viv, although she is weird and they are not really compatible on what or how they think, she has always been a nice friend to me.

It really felt like she was the only one to be extremely nice to the Inquisitor. She treated her to a Spa day and even offered to talk about love problems. The other characters were all talking about their stuff.

Yeah I picked the option while talking with Cass just out of curiosity. Lavellan just says "Maybe I'll get married. I've thought about it" but there is no mention about who she is thinking about and neither does Cass say anything. So it felt a bit weird

I admit, I was too busy having feels over Dorian and pranking with Sera and squeeing over the key to Kirkwall to be fussed about Solas's absence.  The warmth and affection that I felt from everyone else more than outweighed not having Solas around.

 

Plus, I headcanon that my Lavellan had a fling or two during that time skip.  I may even be writing smut in that vein  She's not a nun, and she's not going to spend two years pining for someone she can't even find.  Of course, as soon as she starts to get an inkling that Solas is involved in what's going on (which is pretty early in Trespasser), all the feels come rushing right back.

My Lavellan totally had casual relationships in the two years. She was still in love with Solas, but, like you said, she's not a nun.

Is it referenced anywhere when the last Arlathvhen took place? I know it's usually just Keepers and probably First that go right?

Given recent events though.....is it possible an emergency Arlathvhen was called and all elves are invited?

The Arlathvhen is held by the clans every ten years or so due to how the Dalish are criminals due to their religion and free mages; it's how Velanna recognizes Mahariel.

The exact year of the last one isn't known, since the mention of it by Fenris in MoTA can happen during any Act. I would've thought that the next Arlathvhen would have been held during the events of Inquisition, since they were supposed to meet outside Halamahiral.

Perhaps Wycome might be the site for the next one (assuming certain events unfold)?

He didn't suggest Fenris kill himself.  He asked if he'd considered it.  He does, however, compare him to a wild animal and approve if Hawke sells him back to Danarius.  Which, no matter what Anders fans try to argue, is totally in character for the person that Anders was by that point.  He was more Justice/Vengance than Anders and to him Fenris is someone that stands in the way of mage freedom.  Therefore it's good that Hawke gets rid of him.

 

Maybe I'm remembering the banter wrong, I wouldn't be surprised, but it's still a pretty damn rude thing to say. xD Saying that though, they were both horrible to each other, but that comment from Anders really tipped it for me.

What if Solas had told Lavellan of his real identity in Crestwood? Would he still have been all "This wolrd mus die" or would he have been more open to discussion? I sometimes think that taking Mythal's power was a point of no return for him. He HAS to do it now or Flemythal would've died for nothing (IF she died).

I actually think that Crestwood was a point of no return for him. Cole said to him once - "they're not all gone so long as you remember... but you can let go of them as well". We also heard Weekes in one of interviews when he says that he's right there, about to drop everything and forget about the past (perhaps even literally). 

 

That also makes it easier to think that through all this time he didn't just plan to murder everyone - I just don't think him super-coldly calculating the demise of not-his people is reflected in how he treats them. He may have his prejudices, but - aside from liked/loved Inquisitor - he warms up to many he meets, to a point that he openly admits to admiring/respecting/praising them, laments the injustice and often sympathizes with downtrodden, aside from approving good actions Inquisitor takes.

 

And he says to Lavellan, pretty early on - you change everything. (or, alternatively to all approved enough Quizzies - I've felt the whole world change.)

 

So even though he likely still builds his network of agents and works towards his goal, his experience with Inquisition and Inquisitor likely makes him at least consider some possibilities, if not dropping his plans outright. Yet, whatever happened in Temple Of Mythal seemed to have either strengthened his resolve or made him realize that there's no other way than his way - in Crestwood, he seems to give the final try in either dropping his plans or considering some sort of new possibility... Needless to say, Lavellan almost succeeded. Almost ;(

Yeah but casual is not serious like getting married serious.  That whole convo with Cass felt so weird and out of place that, like Jayla, I had to go back and redo it.

It's got to the point with Anders that I actually can't take him anywhere with me in DA2.  The only times I have him in my party is if he's required for a quest.  Solas, however, always has a spot in my party.  And still does, even after Trespasser.

It's tragically infuriating and frustrating.  As much as I joke about pissing Fenris off with rivalry gains.

 

There's a definite trainwreck quality to an Anders romance but I find myself agreeing with Sable to various degrees. But I do think some people (not you or people here) minimize his character's complexity or ignore some of the past.

Same. I picked it the first time, hoping I'd get a 'I was hoping on it but then Solas ripped my heart out' deal but had to reload due to it being very out of character.

My Lavellan developed a crippling puzzlemosaic addiction in the two year gap. It wasn't pretty. Declaring war against her ex-boyfriend is probably the best thing that has happened to her lately. 

 

Minor spoilers, but I'm trying to track down some larger images for something I'm working on! If anyone can help, I'd appreciate it!

- Dorian/Iron Bull's ending slide.

- Cassandra's non-formal ending slide. 

- Solas's romance tarot. 

 

I know because all of them have to be ripped from the game, file sizes are never going to be ideal. But so far what I've found has been too tiny [sub 500 pixels], or too PNG/Photoshop filtered to be useable for anything.

I'm more worried about Charter. She's one of Leliana's top agents (and before Trespasser she was the character I assumed would take over the spymaster job if Leliana was Divine).

I truly didn't mean you when I said the whole minimizing thing but elsewhere, people have a tendency to simply look at an act or two and be on the murder knife condemnation path. Taken as a whole picture, he gives me the tragic feels. That's partly also why he's alive in my world.

 

Solas does too but in different ways. I'm glad we have complex characters like these.

I think that mantle is being taken up by harding!  but i love charter and had a bit of a crush on her( i think because it's voiced by the woman who voices Anora) so I hope she stays.  i want to take all the elves I love that arent solas and put them in a box somewhere to protect them.

On another note, since we are speaking of characters we don't like... Blackwall left me feeling skeeved all through DAI, even though I did like the character. But after finishing Trespasser I feel better about him. It feels that he

finally accepted what he did and went on a path of redemption and forgiveness for real, and not just because that was the "correct" thing to do just so he can pretend at doing the noble right think like Blackwall would have done. He accepted himself as Thom and that, to me, made all the damn difference.

 

I know what you mean, that epilogue slide were he holds the prisioner hands pull on all the heartstrings with that soundtrack playing in the background. I personally aways liked Blackwall, but after Trespasser I liked him even more.

 

The character that changed my opinion the most was definitly Cassandra.

I was quite surprised. I was wrong, my suspicions were wrong. Cassandra showed her integrity in this DLC. I thought she would choose the chantry no matter how low they would fall, but she actually leaves them if Vivienne is divine and stays to continue her good work if Leliana is in charge instead. She did choose integrity over loyalty to a group, and I feel nothing but respect for that. I came to love Cassandra character so much that I decided to make her my main romance instead of Josephine (I still love Josephine though).

 

It was amazing to see how much everyone grew in this DLC.

Well, I headcanon it took her some time to heal and she threw herself into her work and focused on herself and her friends and the Inquisition. There was destruction to fix and there were people to help. Also a visit to her clan. And then other things. Inquisitor can be a bit lonely and intimidating so I don't really see her sitting around and pining or anything but I think she's in that space where it's not being a nun to simply wait until another someone feels right. And in her position, she couldn't be too careful.
