Cillian is an elf you can recruit via wartable to check out elven runes on the coast. he's considered an expert. 

He is dalish and I think he was in TME? or another external source. 

 

He's an Inquisition agent who can be sent to study the ruins.  Like Neria he's from Clan Ralaferin (THAT clan Ralaferin).  And like Neria he hangs out in Skyhold when not on mission for the Inquisition (aka, playing DAMP).

The DAMP arcane warrior.  He's the guy in Sentinal armour often seen in Skyhold.  Neria, his clan mate, is another DAMP character who wanders around the Skyhold gardens looking far too stylish for me to like her (even though I play as her in DAMP).

I don't even play as Neria and I kept randomly getting new versions of her armor. I got a class unlock from a chest and it's always the ones I'm not that interested in playing.  I primarily play as Isabela.

Leliana divided her spymaster duties among Harding, Charter, and Rector in the ending slide I got. Considering Charter is kind of a badass, AND possibly a super infamous spy/assassin who got recruited by Leliana, I'm excited at the prospect of her in particular being the de facto leader of the spymaster triumverate.

After this discussion, I'm now mildly torn over whether I want my next playthrough to be my Seramancing mage as planned or if I want to make a man for Cassandra.  Probably going for the mage/Sera fluff but Cass.

Ahahaha ... ever since I found out that both Solas and the Qunari had spies in the Inquisition, I keep looking at Charter sideways.  Even though there's a letter in the storage area near Charter which suggests that Charter herself mentions something about understanding if she's no longer trusted and Leliana replying that she (Leliana) knows too many scandals about Charter to NOT trust her.

 

I also look at every single wandering elf servant sideways.  It makes me feel kinda racist.

 

With Cillian though, that's interesting.  It would seem to go against the information presented about him in the multiplayer.  It says there that he developed a deep respect for ALL life.  So ... hmm.

Well, doesn't Solas have a deep respect for all life? I think it could be claimed that he does. Respect however, no matter how deep, doesn't mean that people won't make sacrifices if they think they're necessary.

 

Solas, after all, declares a very deep respect for liked Inquisitor, twice, yet Trespasser doesn't give an impression that Solas thinks that Quizzie will survive his world-changing actions, even if he's going to give them a really good shot at it.

Speaking of Rector: is anyone else super amused that his name is apparently Wilbur and his mum sends him sweaters and scarves because Skyhold is really cold. And just wants him to be proud of his given name because it was his uncle's name and he fought for King Maric.

I was pretty impressed I managed to get and keep her friendship during my main game.  The first playthrough I get the cookie scene is also the one I import to Trespasser!

 

I'm convinced I have to tell her the Temple of Mythal stuff is bullshishkebab to stay on her friendly side and get cookies. I tried to stay as polite to her as possible without giving in entirely to her, but nope, no cookies. The sad thing is is I absolutely love Sera, but I have no patience with her closed mindedness of anything that doesn't fit within her scope. xD Ah, she's young though.

 

Sorry, I've been wanted to vent my grievances with her for a while and I guess the first thing I see about her lets me do it. xD Apologies!

Like Neria, Cillian was born to the Ralaferin clan.  In his youth, he lived apart from his people in order to resurrect a lost elven art: that of the arcane warrior.  Originally driven by the need to seek glory for his people, Cillian's years of meditation and solitude gave him wisdom and respect for all life.  When the Breach opened, he knew his duty was to stand against it, fighting to save all he knows and loves.

 

It's specifically that last bit that makes me go hmm about the spy thing.  Not saying it's not possible but *if* he's aware of exactly what Solas is planning, it seems more that he'd stand against Solas than with him.  But who knows, I've been wrong about a lot of things so far lol.

I flirted with Harding in every location.  I got a serious boost in approval for that.  And saved a lot of the Hinterlands quests until after I recuited Sera and took her with me.  And had the nobility knowledge perk that let me recuit the noble in her quest and stay on her good side (gaining a Greatly Approves in the process).  Keeping the Wardens also gives you a Greatly Approves, too.  With that I was able to cope with the huge hit to approval the TOM stuff and recuiting the mages took.

I am fairly certain that was what I had to do to get the cookies scene.  I played it as trying to see it from her point of view.  Or I was straight up lying to her because sometimes it just isn't worth it to be 'right'.

There are also Red Jenny caches scattered around.  I know there are like 3 in the Hinterlands.  There are more elsewhere and I think each one gives a slight approval bump.  I know killing a dragon with her in the group is supposed to change her codex entry but I'm not sure if she gets approval from it like Iron Bull does.  And you don't have to agree with her in the Temple of Mythal thing to stay her friend.
