I went for the servant because, of the two, it seemed more likely they'd smuggled the gaatlok inside the palace and that was the most important part for my Inquisitor. They couldn't blow up the palace. I wasn't even aware Solas could have agent infiltrating us. When I realized, I went full on Homer Simpson "'D'oh!"

 

My decision was kind of diplomatic in the end. But, well, you know...

If he was just made tranquil and he's not dead......and then he has the tranquility reversed.....and then he hears about Solas starting to see people as real but still going through with his plan.....

 

can you imagine how incredibly pissed at Solas he would be? I mean......it wouldn't just be mad...it would be tranquil reversed mad.

 

Felessan may go super mage and save all of Thedas based on this alone.

 

I think this should be the plan of action to stop Fen'Harel apocalypse 2.0.

 

If he's still alive that is.

I think there is some hope he might not be dead based on one thing : Solas was extremely weakened when he awoke from uthenera, or else he'd have been able to use his own foci without Corypheus' help. Although he's a powerful dreamer (and after Trespasser has god-like powers), he might not actually have been strong enough to kill Felassan through a dream (he might not even have realized he didn't, so he would think that's one more stain on his soul. On the other hand, seeing how he reacts to an inquisitor making anyone tranquil, knowing he's made Felassan Tranquil wouldn't be much better to him than killing him outright; worse even.). All that to say, there is some hope Felassan might return if I'm right.

 

Too bad the Inquisitor has no idea Felassan even exists though, or mine at least would try to find him. Perhaps she could learn about him through tlaking with Briala, which would be a logical step since the eluvian were hers before Solas "stole" them.

If that were the case though, wouldn't he just reply in ROT13 like he's been doing with every other Trespasser related lore question? I mean, it's pretty obvious at this point whodunnit. "A slow arrow breaks in the sad wolf's jaws." There's no room for ambiguity there. Yet Weekes still goes all River Song whenever he's asked about it.

Maybe on one hand we'll have a new Tevinter protagonist who'll have Dorian, Calpernia, Mae and a few more new companions, and on the other hand you have the Inquisitor scouring the world for a solution and finding a Tranquil-made Felassan. They go to Cassandra for help, restore him to his former self and then you have Felassan who knows Fen'Harel's plan and believe like the Inquisitor that he needs to be stopped (and seeing how he respected Solas in Masked Empire, he'd probably agree to the "saving him from himself" bit if that's the way you play the game).
 
Edit : I've been listening to the same few songs we have from Trespassers for the last two days. Someone help, I'm in full hellspiral!

Yes exactly! This is why he'd be such a great companion. He'd be up for saving Solas, but also probably up for stopping him if he's hacked off at having been made tranquil, already sees this world as real and whatnot, and knows stuff about the DW. We know Solas regrets what he did, so saving him could be a big step in the redemption path. Also, there could be interesting trust issues - could an Inquisitor who hates Solas and wants to kill him be absolutely sure that Felassan won't turn on him? DRAMA.

As much as I love Dorian, I fear I wouldn't enjoy his presence without the Quizzy there as much. Like with Varric, I still love the guy but it's just not the same when it's not Varric and Hawke.

I loved the Varric/Hawke friendship so much that I do not care whether Hawke's LI is with him or not now. So long as Hawke is with Varric, that's all that matters to me   unrequited love forever.

 

I love the Dorian/Quizzy relationship both romanced and otherwise, so much so that I fear I'm on the same Varric page with it. So while he simply must be in the next game in some form or another, because, reasons; I am not so keen on him as a companion because any time anything happens to him I know my mind would go straight to 'I wish my inquisitor was here for him' 

 

Which I guess is how Leliana romancers felt during In Hushed Whispers. 

 

 

But if they want to bring back the Inquisitor as a secondary companion. Dorian me up, baby! 

I will get a fuzzy ending for my Dorianmancer, damn it! SOMEHOW.

Who do you guys want as companions in DA4, from this game? Or create-your-own. I know there's already threads about this but I wonder about you guys, specifically.

 

Harding would be a good choice, I think, especially as a LI for those who want her (she could take Varric's place as ranged rogue and one-of-the-only-sane-best-buddies the protagonist has. And she's cute, like a little hamster. :3)

 

But my ultimate want for companion is Calpernia. *Dreamy sigh.*   (A few months ago I realised I was not Straight and in fact Bisexual *raises rainbow flag with enthusiasm.* And Calpernia to me is very VERY very attractive... *sigh* and she's badass and so pretty... prittie pls biower! )

I like this so much that this is now in my head as 'this is what's going to happen' lol   I now might be *slightly* sad if we don't end up having Felassan as a companion.

 

What about Valya? I kind of liked her in Last Flight... but also forgot she existed until about 5 seconds ago  Elf and Grey Warden who has griffons! Could be cool?

I haven't even read Masked Empire and I'd still be a little sad to see I'm wrong. but until I'm proved otherwise, it's so totally in my headcanon of "what happens next". Lavellan in her search for more information on Solas and his plans goes to Briala to talk about the eluvians and learn of Felassan (I'm guessing Briala would have no idea what happened to him. Only that he's disappeared... unless *dun dun dun* Tranquil-Felassan returned to her as the one person he still knew and as some sort of survival tactic and she's been sheltering him ever since.)

 

My other headcanon is that she'll travel to the village Lelliana found in hope of finding clues to Solas' past in a hope of better understanding his motivations *shrugs*. She'll keep in touch though, since she'll have others looking for information elsewhere (including Tevinter! Talking to Dorian is easy, so it allows her to travel while still getting news)

There's plenty of ambiguity. The arrow's only broken. That doesn't necessarily mean dead. Tranquil are broken. ( And the whole idea of them is in direct violation of the Chant but that's a discussion for a different thread)

The more I think about it, the more I like the idea of Felassan as Tranquil, especially since they've given us information that it is reversible. Being an ancient elf with a strong (former) connection to the fade and not being Tranquil for that long, Felassan makes a perfect case for reversal.

My Lavellan isn't the angry sort, so for her, "yes, ironically" was perfect, but the reaction from him when you chose the "you lied to me" option....he just doesn't have an answer for that last part and it's sad but also true. Oh Solas, you and your trust issues.

Harding is adorable and it would be great if they finally have a dwarf romance option since people have been wanting one for years. Depends on the game structure.

 

Calpernia's background fits very well in terms of the setting and potential themes. I think there's a good chance, given that and her reception, plus her ambiguous fate.

Know who I'd like to see again? Jowan. He could be the new everything-I-do-ends-badly team member. Not to mention he'd have the best comments on Tevinter statuary. I dunno if he should/would be an LI since Lily's fate is unknown, but options are always nice. And he'd have to have his old voice too.

I know he's not from DA3, but my answers for that have been said already. And anyways. Jowan. Please, can I have him?

Now, if I were to create my own:
I'd make an Antivan Prince who is on the run because Crows. So he presents himself as a Rivaini pirate captain doing pirate captain-y things and you'd only learn his true heritage later. He'd act a little something like Hook from Once Upon a Time. And if he looked a little something like him too, you wouldn't hear me complaining at all. Rogues are usually the charismatic/flirty smartarses but for a change of pace I'd make him a warrior, so he'd know his way around a sword. Trespasser bonus:

If they somehow did bring Felassan back, I hope he wouldn't end up looking as odd as Celene/Briala/Michel did in Inquisition.

Celene looked much older than I had imagined. Briala was much lighter skinned than I thought she was supposed to be, and Michel just looked like a generic NPC.

Celene looked and sounded like she was 50. Briala was too light. I didn't expect Michel to look like that, and there IS an NPC who looks similar. I've mistaken one for the other once or twice.

 

Still, Michel does something for me.
