He always had a 'reformed/matured bad boy' vibe to me, which I personally find attractive - I mean, let's face it, he IS still trying to destroy the world (or something close to it), but he learned his lessons in life and does so reluctantly.

Ahaha, cold and bad boy Solas does have quite a charm to him, I agree. I thought Solas was quite attractive since the start of Inquisition. He has a little Nic Cage face going on and isn't conventionally attractive, but the features that they did give him make him look very good in his own way regardless. I think it has to do with all of the edges that make up his face, particularly his chin. He's got a little feral look going on, if you look at how they constructed his facial features. Yes, I'm an art nerd. (Oh, and if you want some angry bickering with underlying attraction, I'm kind of writing that right now...it just simply happened on its own. I did nothing, I swear, this turned into a hate-love-hate thingy REALLY fast.)

oh yeah, definitely! it just took Trespasser for me to realise that about the main game. you Trespasser changes everything - I had to rethink his character after all those lore bombs, to figure out whether I could still justify liking him.

 

I think the more I play, actually, the more he grows on me in general - still. I love the fact that he's simultaneously compassionate and ice-cold snarky af.

I'm still writing! Though I WILL upload it on AO3 as soon as I've got the first chapter written. The Lavellan is a warrior lady that calls her vallaslin 'warpaint' - so expect some rough moments. Both bickering and...other things. I dunno how to describe it. Solas is still mostly his Fade nerdy self, but I think he'd show another side of him if the Lavellan in question is just annoying mean unique enough. You can read how Lavellan thinks of him under the spoiler, though. That's part of the first chapter, too.

LOL.  I showed my BFF the low-approval version.  Her Trevelyan was friends with Solas, and she was like, "Can I go back and make him hate me?  Because DAMN!"  She liked the character, but didn't get why I found him attractive until Trespasser

Usually, the bad boy thing doesn't do it for me either.  My IRL boyfriend is the cuddliest teddy bear ever, and I tend to gravitate toward sweet LIs like Alistair and Garrus.  But Solas...Solas kind of does both for me.  The compassionate, adorkable Fade nerd, and the ruthless rebel Wolf.

I'm a very sarcastic person and love to rub a little salt into wounds, but never too much, so I'm kind of...in the middle? I love how Solas can be fluffy and nerdy and all that, but then he turns around and shows an almost cruel side. It makes him very three dimensional, so I'm kind of hanging in the air here. "Yay, be nerdy! Yay, now be angry and an a-hole!" But in general I'm just like "YAY SOLAS!". I'm weird.
