All those beautiful screenshots. *sighs* I wish I could do something anywhere close to that. The cinematic tool confuse me. Do people pause in the middle of fights and hope they get characters in interesting positions to get those shots?

It takes a while to get used to, but yeah.  That's pretty much it.  Just mess around with it and have some fun.

I am determined that one day I'll make it through this game with my Male IB romancing Qunari and a Female Sera romancing Dwarf. But I keep abandoning my playthroughs because I am obsessed with all the Elven lore, and Solas friendships and elfyness. 

 

My Male Qunari is fab, but I just can't seem to love him like I love my Elven boy and girl </3 

 

Everything is the fault of Solas. Everything. I would have completed this game as a Qunari first if it wasn't for him.

I just wanted to say that I actually feel worse now than I did this time last week, this...this isn't supposed to happen is it?

Not all male Lavellan look feminine, even if their general body type is thinner and shorter than humans. Mine certainly doesn't look like a woman. What is it with association being short(er) and thin(ner) with feminine characteristics?

 

But then, tumblr makes me roll my eyes at least twice a day on a good day.

Her Fem!Adaar is so pretty   I could never make one I was happy with which is why I ended up with a Male Qunari instead. If I had a good PC I would be all over those hair mods.

Kenrick. Kenrick was awesome! If he returns I want him and harding to become an item (unless your character remance Harding). The two of them in JoH were adorable.

I do think it depends on how you make the Lavellans.  I've seen some that are...hrm.  There is a good reason to play as a Lavellan though and it's not because of ELF RIGHTS.  The lore and the story is heavily weighted in their favor atm...though it appears the Qunari and Dwarves have been getting a lot of lore love as of late.

Speaking of, I'm still trying to decide on what type of guy I might make to romance Cassandra. Really, I think Lavellan or Trevelyan but the concept hasn't come yet.  Maybe an archer Lavellan, now that I think about it.

The qunari unfortunately just don't get as much connection to the story, even in Trespasser. But I am 100% in love with the deadpan clever options that Jon Curry provides. He can be a little too stoic for me if I'm trying to make Adaar sound feelsy, but the deadpan. The glorious WTF IS ACTUALLY WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE deadpan It works very well with Dorian's snark.

Threnodies 5:1-5
 
This tells the story of the seperate of the waking world and the Fade.  It tells us that spirits lack any ability to create, only copy.  From what we saw in Trespasser this is actually a very mythologised account of Solas created the veil.  What if the creation of the veil didn't only prevent mortals from reaching their full potential, but also created all the problems there are in Thedas with demons and spirits.  Maybe spirits could originally create, but like insistic magic was part of the fade/mortal world being one, this was a pre-veil thing?  Spirits are now drawn through the veil in search of original wonders, and are corrupted into demons in the process.

Some of it got brought up in FrankWisdom's elvhen lore thread. I was pleasantly surprised at how much of the Chant of Light lines up with Solas's story. No one's myths are 100% true, but everyone's have some thread of truth in them.

Though maybe spirits couldn't "create" in some sense. Elvhenan sounds like it went through its ups and downs, but it at least seems to me that it was overall a much more stable society than modern Thedas. Maybe when the Chant says that the spirits lacked creativity, what it really means is that they just didn't change their natures much, unlike modern mortals. It would certainly explain Solas's outburst about not being able to change your nature simply by wishing.

About Dorian with male Lavellan. It really didn't bother me how male elf body model is. I guess because as a Solasmancer I'm used to these glued arms. I just headcanon that Mahanon is really ticklish and I really like that dalish elf vs. tevinter mage thing. Dorian is my female Lavellan's BFF and Trespasser made me adore him even more.

All this time travel talk from too many pages back made me think about Back to the Future trilogy. I don't know why, but I'm imagening Solas as Marty McFly from the 2nd movie. When Marty arrived to alternate 1985 and then went back to 1960's to fix things. It is just a silly thought.

I just bought the Trespasser DLC last night and stayed up all night playing _{and skipped classes today because I was too tired and too wired to go!}

I can't hold onto this amount of conflicting emotional distress. One moment I'm curled up in bed feeling bits of my soul die and the next I'm throwing myself against a window in despair over the long wait of the next game! Too many feelings!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SOLAS I HATE THAT I LOVE YOU, YOU A**HOLE!!!!!!!!!

If you were around for Harry Potter mania, we're at the Order of the Phoenix point right now in Solas's story. The real storm hasn't hit yet, so there's no closure since the story clearly isn't done. With any luck we'll get resolution for Solas and Lavellan in a future game.

Giving my guy eyeliner probably doesn't help with my 'non-feminine' case 

 

But I kinda based him off of a favourite singer of mine (could never get the nose right ;-; ) for er... Solas based reasons (I told you. EVERYTHING is Solas's fault) and that guy isn't the most macho of people. So that's why my Lavellan looks like he does. Not for weird feminine RP reasons.

There will definitely come a time, a year or so down the line where I will want to recreate him and play through the game without that damn Mullet and to get the nose/eyes right. 

I remember how many times I re-rolled DAO until I have the perfect run with the Origins type I liked best ... Too many to admit to..

I just finished my "complete" Solas romance canon, but had to rush the last little bit to be ready for Trespasser. I have a save from before the rushing, but I've decided to just start all over again. 230 hours in that game (I wander and craft a lot) and it's not complete enough for me.

 

On top of my m!Lavellan and the Cullen romance I've been putting off since release because Solas.

 

I have a full time job (look at me, hard at work reading about Dragon Age), college classes, and a 3 year old (named Cailan, because Dragon Age). This is my life. There are worse problems to have.
