Can I also just say that I have been sitting here thinking about this whole Lavellan/Zevran thing and yes. It is perfect. It's totally cool for it to be casual and it totally works if Solas really does lose all marbles and there is zero hope for that relation-thing-ship.

 

And the best part is that Zevran would be sweet and charming about it the whole time.

 

I knew there was a good reason for my HoF to be with Alistair and not Zevran. Lavellan needs to write her a personal thank you letter. If we can get an address.

 

Zevran is okay with casual stuff but he really does want something deeper, he just isn't sure he'd ever get that, and is sweet about that. I have only watched it but he seems similar to Dorian in that way. Will do casual but really wants more and is afraid to hope for it.

Oh it's just my 3 am blather, I doubt that's what it actually is.

As for Lavellan: I think no matter how we look at the romance, part of it is that she does remind him of the people in the past. To me at least it does not matter whether it's a specific person.

Considering how my Lavellan feels towards her after finding out she was in the world all this time and refused to help the elves. She would be ticked off and would consider it an insult.

Ahhh Oghren.  I swear I'm one of very few people that actually liked him.

 

I would take him over Sera any day. If he was in Inquisition, I could see him getting along well with Iron Bull, they both love fighting, drinking, and dirty jokes. Also, he would annoy the crap out the Iron Lady, she would be another Morrigan, and he might even compare them, which will get her undies in a bunch. To bad like Zevran he is also with my Warden on her quest to find a cure.

Well, the good part is for some reason I don't feel bad about letting my Lavellan be happy, seriously happy, with Zevran. It works in my head. And is sweet.

 

Like I said before....we didn't actually get the option to break off the relationship with Solas after he drops the whole "My plans may end the world" and while my Lavellan cares enough about Solas still to save him.......I just realistically don't see her seeing it as a relationship anymore.

 

She'd be more than happy I think to be serious with Zevran. And just the sheer amount of fun and crazy times they could have while plans are being made to get into Tevinter is just awesome.

 

And best part is the very thought of Solas trying to recruit Zevran is just hysterical....I mean how terrible would Solas' plans sound to someone like Zevran? lol

Now that I think of it, Ohgren and Lavellan are a bit similar when it comes to their relationships.    

 

1) Both had their SO run away from them on a quest to restore the old glory days and don't see them for years.

 

2) When they do find them again, they come to a horrifying discovery that their SO has gone crazy and is/about to commit horrible acts to restore said glory days at the cost of many lives.

 

3) They have to stop their SO, but don't want to kill them. They instead want to give their SO a chance to come to their senses and redeem themselves.

 

4) They might possibly have to kill them instead.

 

The resemblance stops there, since I'm not sure about the rest of you, but my Lavellan wouldn't start a family and later think. "Hey, you know what would be a great idea. Joining the Wardens."

 

But if Solas was in a relationship with Mythal, then that would be another thing they have in common. Solas and Mythal, Branka and Hespith.

I vote Lavellan and Ohgren go out drinking, connect over horrible SOs, get into a bar fight with the other people for fun, and go to a brothel. Then they become BFFs.

Now imagine Solas coming back and find out that Ohgren replaced him in his Vhenan's heart. Solas must have thought that there was a high chance that Lavellan would find someone else, but I think it would sting to find that it was someone like Ohgren, who rarely bathes or reads anything that isn't porn. I think he'd be insulted. Then Lavellan would be like, in a controlled anger short of way, "At least he sees me and my loved ones as people, and doesn't want to kill them all. Unlike someone I know." Burn.

It's no wonder then that Solas wasn't content with just one or two kisses, as can be seen in the Fade dream or on the balcony. For him that must be nothing but a little peck on the lips. It's quite tragic, but it makes even more sense why he would be so confused and torn. This whole situation must be really strange for him. Back in the old days he could spend years upon years courting someone, kissing someone. 

 

And then there's Lavellan who mesmerises him so much after a short period of time that he commits himself to her within a year. He must feel really, really restless all the time, knowing that what he has with her is but a fracture of what the ancient elves had. And yet it's STILL ALMOST ENOUGH to make him forget his plan entirely.

Oh gosh, 'life' and the fear of spoilers has kept me off these boards for months, but now I've finished Trespasser and I'm right back in the hellspiral again.

 

I wish my housemate would play faster, she's still only halfway through the main-game and I'm definitely struggling to keep mum about all this.

She asked me if Trespasser was good and I was just like;

 

 

'... I mean yes. It was great. Excuse me while I weep uncontrollably while rolling about on the carpet.'

I don't know if people in this thread are aware of new ongoing comic series in Dragon Age universe. Well maybe you already know, because they talked about this during PAX. First number of Dragon Age: Magekiller is coming out in December 2015.

 

What makes this intresting is that comic starts before Inquisition and tells how the Venatori was founded, but later story continues to events after Inquisition. Now I'm wondering how much they are going to tell us about the Dread Wolf and his plans? Maybe nothing, but considering what is happening with elves there has to be something in the sidelines.

About Mythal/Lavellan. I suspect that she does/did remind him of Mythal. I have a feeling the "I have not seen that wisdom since...(mythal)..since my deepest journeys into the fade" was what was going on. Also  if you drink from the well of sorrows, in Trespasser you can talk to the ancient spirits and quizzy comments something like wondering what the relationship between fen/mythal was? Something more? I think the writers might have wanted the player to think of that? Why else put it in? And just the way he talks about her and what hes done for her.

I think the "wolf chewing off his leg" thing Cole says might mean that Solas gave up his immortality..so. He did that to avenge her as well.

I must admit, that would cheapen the relationship between solas and lavellan a great deal for me. Well..the start of the relationship in the base game anyway. But he is deeply inlove with her. And I think especially now. In Trespasser its really the first time that he can know that you love him (all of him) its probably the first time he's felt that its fair to let you say these things to him or for him to even hear it, because now you know.

Now your not just saying these things to solas but to Fen'Harel/Dread Wolf/Solas, so that must mean so much more to him. Its real now. Talking to each other on a level playing field. If you know what Im getting at?

Just look at the way he  walks away this time. Its heavy and broken. Even with high approval quizzy he still walks with purpose when he leaves.

Each time he walks away it seems that he leaves a bigger part of himself with you, as evidenced by the fact that now he cant keep away and comes to you in dreams. Stupid not-people making him feel things.

I could have sworn it was either an interview or a panel or something ... or I could be dreaming, that's possible too.  I remember something about Patrick using the fact that it was for female elves only as a selling point for adding the romance to the game.  For "super story reasons". 

 

I remember that, can't someone ask Weekes on twitter what is the super story reasons that the romance was for female elves?

If he answers with spoilers we'll know it's still relevant, otherwise it's about the vallaslin probably?
