If they did set it in Minrathous I'd want it to be more interactive than Kirkwall was.

Basically I want to be my usual RPG Hero who walks into every home and takes everything.

Kirkwall sorely lacked homes I could loot.

Well they proved they can make big sprawling maps.  Not going to debate whether or not they put enough compelling content on every map.  I think they did a decent enough job on that front.

The one thing that always disappoints me is their implementation of cities.  DAI was an open world experiment.  I'm on board for the next game being a city focused experiment.  Like Kirkwall, except more than 15 months development time.  If they had the same time to do something like DA2 that they did for Inquisition, I think it could be great.  I so wanted to see more of Val Royeaux.

And yes, houses to loot.

Yeah, I really like urban settings and I was really excited for DA2 for that reason - but I was disappointed by all the technical stuff, the same environments and lack of interactivity. My favourite DA city is still Denerim - it had a lot of different areas despite its relatively minor role in DA:O, and I felt I got to know it quite well.

I want random magical encounters and weirdness I'd expect from a city like Minrathous. I'd like to explore the labrythine sewers and the city's slums, the slave quarters, the industrial districts, and alienages, as well as sneaking into mansions and palaces (DA:I was lots of palaces but no sewers). I'd like to explore the Tevinter circles and libraries - I want to stand simply amazed at these halls of magic. But as much as anything I'd like memorable side characters with engaging and differen quest lines, where you can join factions and hatch plots and have different storylines in one game based on those choices, creating a sense that this city is both massive, magnificent, and alive.

Am I the only person who thinks he might be searching for Solas?

I think he is.

And it is a really sad imagery when you think about it. Cole says in another part that all of the spirits are fleeing to the farthest parts of the Fade. This means they are avoiding Solas because they see what he is doing. And Solas loves the company of spirits.

Solas has scared away every aspect in the Fade except Compassion.

Saaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad.

He is.  One of his pieces of dialouge at Halamshiral has him say that he's going to find Solas (but said in a very Cole way).

I don't think it would be too hard.  We have it on a minor scale with what they did to Skyhold in the Frostbite engine.

Spirit Cole makes me both happy and sad. happy because I thought the Krem thing was so adorable.....happy because atleast Compassion is out there trying to help Solas......

....but oh so sad for my Lavellan. I mean.....Cole was seriously like her best friend.

That good bye would have been sad. At the same time, Cole probably would have said something so sweet to cheer her up.

Plus I guess it is good that my Lavellan is a mage. I guess that means she can be visited by Cole in dreams and stuff.

So much <3 for Spirit Cole.

And I know it seems like super controversy out there....but I actually thought the human Cole stuff in Trespasser was cute. I get where people are coming from in how angry it made them.....but I thought it was sweet.

I have Spirit Cole and he gives me much hope. Cole isn't giving up on him and neither is my Lavellan. Cole's "greatly approves" was another sign. Okay everyone else, disapprove, think she's maybe a bit compromised....at least Cole is on her side. :D

edit: Though yes, he goes back to the Fade because he is needed. He can do what he can to help there. Cole and Dorian were her closest friends there, so it will be quite difficult without both of them right nearby, but BFF Dorian has crystal calling, and Cole will do what he can. I also headcanon her as close to Leliana, who is Divine, so she's the only one still left nearby. And also why I settled for the option I did.

Oh yes, but after being disappointed by Val Royeaux, which I expected to be a major hub in DA:I. At times I felt like the quizzy was very isolated from the general populace and how popular opinion was changing about them - that's partially deliberate, part of them being a figurehead, but I reckon we could have had a much better sense of the common touch by exploring cities and having conversations with ordinary folk.

But you're right - it's very doable now with the new engine now. I just don't want to get my hopes up too much.

I like human Cole and Spirit Cole.  He might be another reason to have two cannons.  On a Lavellan playthrough she would be bittersweetly/happily sending him off to make sure that Solas was taken care of. If he wouldn't let her near him maybe he'd let Cole.  He wouldn't before but if he's weakening in resolve(which is what Cole makes it sound like he's waiting for.  He'll be there to sweep in when he needs him).  I'm just hoping that it doesn't mean our death in the process.

This makes me feel happy that I picked Spirit!Cole for my Solasmancer. She has one companion who will help in his own way. GO TEAM!

My Male Lavellan is on his own  He will need to find new friends.

I don't think people are trying to prove their headcanons are right. The whole point of headcanon is that it's personal.

I keep listening to this. And got three whole lines written last night. B)

I was just admiring how handsome he looks in a hoodie (and I do like him bald!)

I have gone into the perils of Tumblr and emerged with a case of dual extra Solas feels and back into the thick of the Life is Strange feels. I told my friend it is too late for me now, save herself.

And then I showed her a bunch of LIS screens and got her interested.

True.  Though the "burning in raw chaos" bit might have tipped me off too.  Or the "this world must die" part.  This plan's a real stinker.

I have spirit!Cole for Lavellan, and human!Cole for Adaar who basically treats him like a little brother.

It's funny, because before Trespasser I really did not want Lavellan to die.  Now...I think if she dies stopping Solas, I would be an ugly mess of tears, but it could be really beautiful.  My Lavellan has done more in her 26 years of life than most people do in a lifetime.

One of the reasons I am secretly hoping they do the two protagonist route. You could have the Inquisitor poking around the aristocracy with Dorian, while the new protagonist might be someone recruited from the lower rungs of Tevinter society. That way we'd see a whole bunch of different locations and characters.

Quizzy:  Ugh, what a day.  I ran into Magister Erimond's widow; talk about awkward.

New PC: Lady, I waded up to my waist in the sewers trying to get to that rendezvous with your Red Whatevers--

Quizzy: Jennies.  And I'd trade.

New PC: <_< You want to be waist deep in sh*t.

Quizzy: I already am.  The rats would be better company.

New PC: ...ok.  Point taken.  Let's have some goddamn beer.

I've decided that this is my new favorite part of the Forum.  When people do the little dialogue.  It always makes me chuckle or cry.  Best thing ever.

I'm extremely excited for the new PC, to be honest. They will most likely be in contact with Quizzy, otherwise it wouldn't make any sense, and as it is, I fully support the 2 protags idea. There are so many possibilities!

Also, I'm not saying that I already started a list of possible names for the next PC... but just because I don't say it, doesn't mean it's not true! :D

I tend to prefer female protagonists to male, but if we do get 2 PCs that can play off each other, I almost want to make a male PC who's the polar opposite of my Lavellan, just to see those conversations :D

New PC: Your ex-boyfriend's an ass.

Lavellan: Excuse me?

New PC: His agents ambushed me on the way here.  My left buttcheek will never be the same again.

Lavellan: ...right.

New PC: I'm just saying.  Withhold sex or something until he behaves.

Lavellan: It's a bit more complicated than that.

New PC:  Ugh.  Fine.  Whatever.  Your artificer owes me a new buttcheek.

I would love if my Lavellan could team up with some scrappy city elf rogue. Maybe attempt to clean them up a bit and be useful.
