No likes so have a  <3

I'm out of likes too, dumb like limits!

<3

Congratulations on completing Stage One of Trespasser: playing the DLC.

Welcome to Stage Two.

<3

I feel like this is something everyone keeps saying:  "Everyone else is so angry, except me, I guess, b/c my Lavellan is kind...."  But then when I look for the posts in this thread where other solasmancers are like, "You know what Solas, F*#! YOU, we're done, and that's canon," there aren't (that m)any.  No it's all, "Well, obviously I'm sort of grumpy b/c my boyfriend is a megalomaniac, but it's not like I'd ABANDON him."

I'm beginning to feel like mess is an understatement with Solas.

My two-year old makes a mess.

She doesn't make apocalypses.

I don't know, I was pretty mad at my son that one time he covered the entire living room in chocolate syrup, and then that time he slathered someone's car in mud. Not a long-term planner, my child. Hopefully not apocalyptically so, however. If nothing else, I've learned how to forgive certain ahem trespasses.

I love using the angry dialogue when confronting him in Trespasser about the Dalish saying. He snaps at you that because you are Dalish, knowing who he is, you would have be disgusted by him, then she yells out that she would have had him trust her. He pauses, stares at her disbelievingly, then hangs his head in sorrow and shame, realizing she would have accepted him and once again he was wrong with his judgement.

That is my favorite response to him hands down.

The fact that he has zero to say to the  "I would have had you trust me!" is just boss on Lavellan's part.

It's like he knows in regards to that Ir abelas just doesn't cut it.

I'd take Solas to the Shrine of Boethiah and use the Pillar of Sacrifice to bring back Felassan tbh

lol you'd solve half of Thedas' problems if that option was available.

Not only would you have stopped the immanent apocalypse and restored order to the world, but Best Elf would be alive. Which makes the world state 100% objectively better.

The moral of the story is to introduce the daedra to the Dragon Age setting, and everything would be just peachy again

I was actually surprised that it was so easy to snap him out of it, when he was clearly anguished and enraged.  All it took was his name.  One word, to bring him back to himself.

One word, yes, but that was his name.  His actual name. It was a reminder that he didn't have to be Fen'Harel.

Yeah......I've learned to let things go also. I mean, changing the color of the walls with crayons is not the same as changing the fabric of reality.

It's the only option I choose now after trying all of them. It's just perfect! My poor Lavellan ended on bad terms with him (yelling at him in the Rotunda after he dumped her), then after 2 years everyone is asking her how she is after he left and she's not in the mood, then she is told he works for Fen'Harel, then discovers he IS Fen'Harel and she's so done. When she sees him and he's still judging her as always, she shuts him up!

Time to add something new to the mix - obviously Trespasser makes me think about Solas, his relation to the overarching story, effect on Lavellan... but I also keep thinking how Trespasser revelations affect other companions.

Especially Cassandra.

I don't think her story in DA is over yet (as in: she's never mentioned again or relegated to a footnote/short cameo), considering that we see her at the very end, actively involved in stopping Solas. And I can't help but to wonder how all this new information about the world must have impacted her.

I have to admit, after I took her as my tank on the journey through eluvians I was prepared to hear more of her dismissive remarks about elvhen religion, the like of which we heard at ToM - yet I've heard none (the only one I've heard that was rather dismissive of elves relying so much on magic was from Vivienne).

Oh sure, we find out rather quickly that Fen'Harel fought against gods he claimed are FALSE, but he is also responsible for creation of the Veil, which shatters many claims and doctrines spread by the Chantry. Still, she was surprisingly reserved about that, supportive of Inquisitor she likes and none of her epilogue cards suggest that she's going through some sort of crisis (though I don't know what happens to her if she's not a Divine, but on a disapproval path with Inquisitor).

Does that means she actually matured further - that she's found comfort more in faith in the world and restoration what's good and helping people, while accepting that stuff about the world and Maker may not be what she believed it was?

I kinda hope that that's it. I think her own faith in the world will be important, aside from faith and hope Inquisitor may have.

....Though I have to admit, in my Lavellan playthrough I just can't not imagine her secretly rooting for Solas and Lavellan to end up being together.

Oh, do I mean secretly? I mean - completely and openly encouraging Lavellan to save Solas.

--

Lavellan (after she explains what transpired behind closed eluvian): "....So you see Cassandra. I... I'm sorry. Aside from Solas being who he is, this new information about the Veil and stuff... it must be hard for you as well to make sense of it all."

Cassandra (ignores the last sentence as she bites a wet handkerchief): "This... this is... SO ROMANTIC"

Lavellan: " What?"

Cassandra: "Inquisitor! You have to save Solas!"

Lavellan: "I uh... I thought you'd be angry about... uh, betraying our trust and all."

Cassandra (with fire in her eyes): "Such nonsense! Can't you see what's happening, Inquisitor? The love that connects you doesn't happen every day, so don't give up on it yet! I won't! You two are destined to be together! And I shall help you fulfill your destiny! TO WORK THEN!"

(she stuffs confused Lavellan under her arm and goes to plan the mission codenamed "The Romance To End All Romances").

I mean, Solas has been around a long time. A loooooong time. It's a bit unbelievable that he was never in love with someone else.

This is my feeling too. I doubt it will matter plotwise, but I assume he's had multiple relationships before. No one whips out a line as smooth as his rogue flirt, even if they're an ancient questionably-mortal sort-of-god, without some practice. Practice is good.

Oh no way can anyone say that guy is not an experienced lover! The kissing is already amazing (and with tongue), but saying that getting you into bed is a pleasurable side benefit? He's no virgin!

I think Lavellan is his soulmate though, despite his past lovers.

That is the first of two things Solas said in my first playthrough that had me staring gape-mouthed at the screen. I was so not expecting it out of him.

I just realize I feel for Felassan the way some people in this thread feel for Abelas

I finally understand

I was confused for a second then realised you meant the people who like Abelas.

(I don't dislike him.  I don't really feel anything towards him.)

I almost spilled tea at my keyboard (I had the 'indomitable focus' one), then just stared at the screen being all "What just happened???"

Me too. I was a Mage on my first playthrough romancing him, and his domination comment left me speechless for a few moments. I recently tried the good bye kiss option for fun and his completely unfazed reaction to me saying "you just want to get me into bed" made me react the same way again. After romancing a flustered Cullen it was rather unexpected.

And I can't even be mad that Lavellan didn't have a witty reply, b/c really, after something like that, what can you say?!

I can see this happening.......

......I kinda feel bad for Cassandra with my Lavellan then......at least until she starts to tell stories about adventures with Zevran.

Cause what's not romantic about an Antivan assassin? I'm fairly certain Cass would eat it up.

No it's all, "Well, obviously I'm sort of grumpy b/c my boyfriend is a megalomaniac, but it's not like I'd ABANDON him."

Fictional character successfully abusing real people emotionally: well done Bioware, well done... :bandit:
