I think PW said it was the first. That the anchor just burnt out and so did the arm, at least that was one of the earlier tweets. I think there was some alternative answers later.

 

It's really hard to tell what happens with it from the cut scene and I actually thought the ass had left us there to die with the anchor and it had to be cut off. I was really prepared to hate him then....lol

I did publish one short post-trespasser fic. The one I posted here many many pages back after I cleaned it up a bit. I was pleased that at least 30 people read it even if no one on Fanfic commented.

 

I would like to publish at least one of them in the future but I want a number of chapters written before I start that way I can keep writing and have plenty that is already complete to post as I continue. I may run it congruent with my Trevelyan story. Like if you want to know more about the other heroines life read her separate story but it's not necessary to read for either kind of thing. I think this would be best rather than combine the two as that might make it too confusing or way too long. If I did something like that and keep the whole ancient elf in modern Thedas story going there would be three. Yikes! I think I need more time on my hands to do that!

hhmm I tried writing a good amount of stories like that at once. Got pretty difficult, and as I said, I got really stressed. I ended up dropping them altogether because I couldn't handle real life and keeping my stories up to date. 

 

If you feel like you have time, then go ahead, but I'll warn you: you might think you have time, until you actually get into it, and it ends up being much more difficult than you thought it would be. At least that's how it was for me. Writing a lot ahead of posting is always good. That's what I did for my firs fic and the routine posting I did got me a good number of followers. 

 

Just don't try to do too much and stress. It was not a fun time x-x

Solas really bothers me when I play on my Sera romance Adaar. He makes these racist comments and when she asked him for advice about Sera he disapproved that they were in a relationship. As much as I love Solas, he can be an *sshole sometimes. He's great, but ya know ... that disapproval punch scene is not completely uncalled for.

 

As to tranquility, I'm pretty rooted on the Solas side of the argument. I think it's horrible, not matter how evil the subject. I'd only approve of it to keep a truly dangerous, unkillable mage (the Evanurius) from being crazy powerful and killing people (wonder if Solas made them tranquil). In any other situation I wouldn't do it.

I wrote a Gundam Wing fanfic that I uploaded as I completed the chapters, and even thought it got some really nice feedback and follows, I lost motivation to do it after a while from the pressure and I always feel guilty about never picking it back up again. I am still writing it, but it's gone through so many re-writes it's barely the same fic it started out as, but this time I've promised myself not to upload anything until I'm finished with it, and then all I have to do is remember to upload on a weekly basis and perform checks and edits in between.

 

I'm 6 chapters in so far, and I've got about 15 planned, and it's taken me about 2 years to write where I'm up to so far, but there's no pressure to write quickly for people waiting for it so I feel like I'm producing a better fic because of it. It's been keeping the stress down too.

I'm contemplating taking that on my Disaster Mage playthrough, just purely because every other "punishment" never really feels like one. Even the execution option he's sitting there going "Go ahead, I'll be rewarded in the next life LOL".

 

And I'll be keeping the Wardens, and drinking from the Well! Solas can kiss it. xD His romance is gonna be hard. xD

Enalen "Tiger Festival" Lavellan is a Rogue Tempest Archer. While some describe Inquisitor of being the embodiment of Hope, I rather think of her as the embodiment of Determination. Ever onward, eyes forward and whatnot. My Trev is more the hopeful, eyes-high sort. And my Cadash will be the super grounded, watch your step sort. All bases covered.
 
2. What was your Lavellan (and you) feeling when they first realized they'd confront Solas soon after two years of absence?
I imagine when all signs started pointing towards Solas, Tiger likely felt it before anyone else and was afraid to hope. It'd been so long. The heart wasn't healed, but it didn't hurt as much as it used to. A total heartsick relapse is the best way I can describe it. When she heard his voice beyond the mirror, it probably felt like returning to a home you never thought you'd see again.  

As for me, I was just a ball of fear and uncontrollable excitement. I was afraid he'd die, or she'd die, or they both would and ugh. But I was excited to see him and hear that voice again. It was weird. Like waiting in line for a roller coaster, and kinda needing to pee at the same time.

 3. What did you reply with when Solas said "I suspect you have questions."?
Thanks to Sumalee's voice acting, Tiger was able to confront Solas with his own identity, minus the accusatory tone. Even though she sounded confident, I imagine there was a tiny, lingering doubt until he said "Well done." I guess it's a good thing she didn't have enough time to sit and think about the scale of what that meant or she may have freaked out a little bit.

4. "May the Dread Wolf take you", how did you reply?
Originaly I went for the teary eyed one. Though I like the line "and so he did", Tiger wouldn't have meant it in the way he responded to because they never slept together. It was awkward and weird. So I changed it. The thumbs up, "My people were wrong" suits her better. Especially since it ends with her letting him know she'd shoulder some of his burden if he let her.

Not if it meant destroying half the world though, naturally.
 
5. When Solas says "I will save the Elven people, even if it means this world must die." how do you reply?
Same way Tiger usually responds to Solas. Asking questions. Why does this world have to die? That question remains my own as well.

6. When Solas tells you that he would of torn down the Veil if things went according to plan you replied with?
Tiger never imagined he would do something like that, and she said as much. As for myself, since we already had that sorta figured it all out on this thread, I would have just throttled him.

7. When Solas completely changes the topic to the Inquisition, what do you say to him?
More questions. Really I wanted an option where Lavellan refuses to let him deflect.

8. How did you respond to him telling you that your Inquisition was corrupted?
Thanks. And Thanks for the Castle. Though she sounds calm and determined, I imagine she's about 5 seconds away from losing her shizzle over it all. Good thing the anchor interferes?
 
9. After the anchor patiently waits for you to finish talking to Solas, then throws you to the ground in agony, what do you say?
Solas! Var Lath Vir Suledin, dammit!

10. If you could add one thing to say to Solas during your conversation, what would it be?
Tiger, and myself, really would have liked to know what the deal was with the big arse Eluvian. I mean, who needs a mirror that size? Where's it lead? Does it have a wibbly wobbly fun house reflection? Is it a warp to World 4? Ahhh. I guess that's kinda more than one thing.

11. If your Lavellan said something to Solas as he's walking away, what would it be?
The most uncreative thing in the world. I imagine she just calls his name in desperation with the most pitiful look on her face that you ever saw.

She may have also thrown her shoe at him if it didn't look so problematic to take footwear off in this game. 

12. To disband, or not to disband, that is the question? And what was your emotional state?
She disbanded with great determination. Rawr.

13. Were you satisfied with the ending?
I think so. Yes. Although it sadly nuked the fridge for every other inquisitor. I swear I've tried to play my trev and my cadash but I just keep playing Tiger's ending over and over... Is DA4 here yet?

14. What does your Lavellan do next?
I'm currently working that out in my handy dandy post-trespasser fanfic. I wonder where it will go...

By the way, I did manage to get a teeny tiny bit of playtime on my Trev earlier before the overwhelming need to write about or play my Lavellan set in again. She just got to the encounter with Flemythal and Keiran.

Something I noticed that hasn't gotten much mention - or if it did I missed it: Keiran opened the Eluvian into the Fade. Not into the Crossroads. Morrigan responds to that with bewilderment, saying it must have taken extraordinary power to do. Extraordinary power that Solas now possesses perhaps?

This reinforces my opinion that Solas doesn't require anything like an anchor anymore. He took everything he needed in the power department from Mythal and now he has the Eluvian network. Solas can possibly step physically into the Fade whenever he wants to now. So, what's that mean for us now? One thing for certain, Lavellan's dreams of him are likely always more than just that.

This feels so true.

It's funny, I wrote something that was so dear to me and wrecked my soul trying to put it together and nobody cared. Then I wrote other stuff that was just spur of the moment when I had some free time and at least at few people seemed to like it. So, you never know.

As long as it's fun or helps deal with the feels

 

That's how I started too. The feels just kind of poured out of me. Now, sometimes there's more structure to the actual writing, but occasionally like Saturday night, it just kind of all pours out again, both increasing and helping the feels.

 

But it's totally personal. Sometimes people will read and like it, sometimes not. It feels nice when it reaches someone though. You never know, but always do it for you first.

Lethari Lavellan, Rift Mage.  I also headcanon that she took Leilana's offer of bard training.  She's not a bard.  Not exactly or entirely.  She's a mage and magic is her passion.  Still... her magic, and interactions, have grow more subtle and layered.   

 

2. What was your Lavellan (and you) feeling when they first realized they'd confront Solas soon after two years of absence?

 

Lethari has been worried sick, and has spent many sleepless night going over things he told her trying to make sense of everything.  Looking for some clue.  She even slept in his room hoping to find something in the fade, but he covered his tracks too well.    She's figured out he has secrets, there is much he hasn't told her, and realizes that's why he left.  Her first feeling realizing she'd meet him again, was relief and fear.  Relief that he was there, but afraid because things where going to hell and he was in the middle.   

 

 3. What did you reply with when Solas said "I suspect you have questions."? 

 

Lethari is a huge nerd, so her first reply was "How did you do that?"  Followed by some ugly crying and (head canon) making sure he wasn't hurt.

 

4. "May the Dread Wolf take you", how did you reply?

 

Ironically, yes. 

 

Solas is Lethari's soulmate.  She's a bit.. shocked or overwhelmed by the revelation.. BUT loves him, and is a Nay-Theist.   She believes most religious lore is merely allegory.   And again, she's a huge nerd.  Lover or no, she'd rather sit him down for a lengthy Q & A session than alienate him.

 

5. When Solas says "I will save the Elven people, even if it means this world must die." how do you reply?

 

Lethari offered to help.  She's shocked that Solas would do something like that...but is also all too aware of an elf's place in the world.  Humans, in general, are unwilling to grant elves even the barest of human rights... Elves will have to fight for them.  Lethari wants to help Solas change the world.  Change isn't always a gentle, kind thing.  There will be bloodshed either way.

 

On a meta-level... I'm not convinced the world isn't doomed anyway.   Plus, the veil is unnatural.  Caging the fade from the "real" world is probably not a good idea long term...or longer term. 

 

6. When Solas tells you that he would of torn down the Veil if things went according to plan you replied with?

 

Truly?  And offered to go with him.

Is it my Inquisition?  The relief of finding him has worn off.  Now, Lethari starts to get angry.

Asked him why he bothered to help.  Lethari got mad again.  If you're going to kill someone...the world... in this case.  Do it.  It's cruel to let them linger in false hope.

I won't give up on you.  Then made a fish face as he nommed my nose.  

 

10. If you could add one thing to say to Solas during your conversation, what would it be?

 

Are you sure you won't look back at this moment in a thousand years and regret it too?

(Bitterly)  So, I was right.  (Lethari believes the gods, all gods, are unworthy of devotion)

Disbanded.  Lethari wants to burn down the Chantry and tap dance naked in the ashes.  She'd never serve it, ever.  Even under a Divine she trusted.  She was very angry.  Actually, aside from the talk with Solas, Lethari took the angry option throw the later half of the DLC... which is huge contrast to her mild-mannered, diplomatic kind to a fault, accepting persona. 

 

13. Were you satisfied with the ending?

 

No, not really.  Plus my game glitched and poor Lethari had her arm stump sticking straight out.  Kinda ruined it for me, truth be told. 

 

14. What does your Lavellan do next?

 

Contacts the Warden-Commander Surana under the pretense of telling warning her about Solas's plan.  But really it's to recruit an uber powerful mage before Solas can... or to watch her in case he already has.  Basically, she looks for exceptional elves, and tries to recruit them... or at the very least keep tabs on them. 

 

Merrill becomes of great interest to her with her knowledge of Eluvian's .  She could ask Morrigan.. but Morrigan drank from the welll, has ties to Mythal, and has been compromised.

 

Although, she suspects it's already too late, she warns her keeper.   Come to think of it.. Poor Lethari is actually a little paranoid.  She trusts no one.  Not even her closest friends and family.  Thanks for that Solas.    Oddly enough... she does still trust Solas, and believes that she can save him... or at the very least minimize the damage.

Solas really bothers me when I play on my Sera romance Adaar. He makes these racist comments and when she asked him for advice about Sera he disapproved that they were in a relationship. As much as I love Solas, he can be an *sshole sometimes. He's great, but ya know ... that disapproval punch scene is not completely uncalled for.

 

As to tranquility, I'm pretty rooted on the Solas side of the argument. I think it's horrible, not matter how evil the subject. I'd only approve of it to keep a truly dangerous, unkillable mage (the Evanurius) from being crazy powerful and killing people (wonder if Solas made them tranquil). In any other situation I wouldn't do it. 

 

Yeah, his prejudices definitely come to the forefront much more when playing Adaar than they did with Lavellan.  Also my Adaar is...blunt to say the least.  They still get along fine due to major decisions (allied with mages, exiled Wardens, saved Wisdom), but it is enlightening butting heads with Solas from time to time.

 

Though after Trespasser, I get why Solas is so fiercely against Tranquility.  Mages are the few people left in Thedas who still have a conscious connection to the Fade, and of course he would see that as precious.  Everyone used to have that connection in his world.  For someone to forcibly sever that connection must seem like the worst sort of mutilation to him.

 

If only there were energybending in this world, eh?

That's how I started too. The feels just kind of poured out of me. Now, sometimes there's more structure to the actual writing, but occasionally like Saturday night, it just kind of all pours out again, both increasing and helping the feels.

But it's totally personal. Sometimes people will read and like it, sometimes not. It feels nice when it reaches someone though. You never know, but always do it for you first.

Well, it was my little labor of love that helped me sort out lots of DLC feels and even made more optimistic, so no effort was truly wasted. And I think I even have some edits in mind, so whether others like it or not, I'll still be working on it

And for the rest of my chapters, it would be ridiculous to take them seriously, so I just goof around with no expectations whatsoever.
