Solas facepalming just sells it! All that's missing from that comic is another character screaming 'Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaahh!'. Sera or Iron Bull would do nicely.

Gonna start back up on dat Solas n Cole painting that I've been working on for....uh...the past few weeks (Stuff happened. Yes, that is my excuse).

 

I'll post it when it's finished but...ugh..So much talent in this thread. I look weaksauce in comparison.

On Solas news, I'm intregied by this 'sense elven artifact' ability he has.  Makes me wonder if other companions will have their own abilities.

He's definitely not the only one but I can't find where it's said that others have the ability.  So I'm not sure if it's "everyone has something only they can identify" or if it's "some characters have things only they can identify."

I'd like that, it would be cool if they were doing the same quest (would avoid spoiling more story :>) but with different Inquisitor (I'd like to see male or female elf, male qunari and female dwarf) and party (Solas stays tho). Call me crazy but I would like to see more Vivienne

No thank you I think we've had enough of Viv tbh. I think since it's going to be an hour long maybe we will get to see more of Solas ( I hope so) and perhaps there will be an elven Inquisitor...that would be nice.

Now that I think about it, the elven artifact thing has to do with those artifacts being only apparent to elves. I think it was in Witch Hunt with Ariane, in that her blood allowed you to sense it but you needed Finn to do a blood magic-ish ritual with her blood to do it.

 

I wonder if Solas, being both mage and elf, can sense them without having to do any of that.

 

Edit: Just looked at the wiki and yeah. But Ariane could only do it because she had pure Dalish blood. Hmmm.

If it makes you feel better, I am utterly devoid of talent of any kind! So you'll always have me to look better than. 

Also, I liked the preview you posted some time ago, so I don't think "weaksauce" is an appropriate word anyway.

I can't find it so maybe that's what I was thinking of.  I think if the comment was made it was probably on a demo but I just don't have it in me to try rewatching every variant of the demos out there to see if I can find it again.

I just found it! I went looking around for it because I felt like it, hah. It was in one of the demos from last year.

 

 

It's at around 15:50. Not much, but he mentions companions being useful for more than just combat and how they'll also do things like call out things they spot and give you hints on stuff that's worth looking into. So it sounds like everyone will do it just because. It might be framed in an in-character way, though...? Like Solas feels the memories attached to an artifact, Sera would notice something someone attempted to hide because she's a rogue, Cole might notice something demonic because he's a spirit...

 

edit because that was an incomplete thought: I don't think that they'd make it so that only certain companions will notice certain objects, though. That would seem... I don't know, like it would defeat the purpose of having them help you? Like, "Oh, I would've helped you but you left me at home. No assistance for you." Just imo, anyway. It is possible, of course, but I think it'd make more sense for each party member to just call things out in their preferred manner of doing things... But I also have no idea what I'm talking about and won't until November, so. Speculation!

Seriously tho, while Vivienne's screen&article spamming was driving me nuts I wouldn't mind seeing her in a demo, I love her voice and I'd like to hear some comment made by her (like for example that there is A LOT of undead and we should head to the castle ignoring them). My dream demo team would be Solas, Vivienne and Dorian but we all know this won't be happening 

 

So our companions are going to be our mobile loot detectors? Good...Good. Farewell missed loot days, will not miss you.

Hi, lovely Solas fans! I doodled a messy little comic of Solas for the Varric thread, it's inspired by a conversation me and a few Varricmancers had recently.

 

The F!Qunari is my own Inquisitor Yvonne Adaar that I plan to use for DA3. Reference to one of my drawings of her in spoiler below.

Yeah, I don't know at this point.  I will say that I don't think this team has a problem with people missing things though.  Mike Laidlaw has specifically said that he wants part of the experience to be people finishing the game and then talking about things they found that maybe someone else had no idea was there.  And there were the tweets about completionists.

Well, I'm glad one of you mentioned it or I might not have gone through with it. _{I'm kinda shy when it comes to posting these kind of things, especially outside the Varric thread. You might have seen me mention it before..}

And I'm sure this won't be the last drawing I make with Solas in it. In fact, I'm working on a chibi of him and if it turns out good I'll post it in here too.
