That's what did it for me too. I could listen to his lore dumps over and over, just to hear the voice. Yes, Solas, go on about the Fade... or world destruction... or whatever, just keep talking.

That accent.  <3

Well I started this Adaar PT a long time ago and wasn't even thinking when I did Champions of the Just that meant Fiona would die.  In fact I think when I had committed to that direction it was before I had ever found out that Fiona shows up in the attack on Haven.  Too late to change it.

I like the pacing of the story doing Wicked Eyes before even unlocking Crestwood.  In my mind a plot to kill the Empress seemed pretty pressing.  My first PT I did Adamant first, but it's just felt better in my others doing the ball first.  Plus I like the urgency of Adamant and then Arbor Wilds.

Oh! This was an Adaar archer playthrough.

I'm sorry, for some reason I thought you were talking about a Solavellan playthrough and I thought, "How can a Lavellan who loves Solas do that?!" But you're talking about an Adaar playthrough where the worldstate was a Warden Ally doing the dark ritual with Morrigan.

So sorry. Carry on. ^_^;;;

(If it helps, my Adaar warrior also sided with the Templars.)

The meeting should happen as long as you do Wicked Hearts before Adamant, that's the only requirement. You can do Crestwood and get Alistair before it without there being any issue. For the scene to trigger you have to leave Skyhold after you're back from Orlais and then come back again

Phew! That's a relief.  ^_^

(I've already done Crestwood, but just need the Western Approach, Wicked Eyes and Adament next. I'm still not sure whether I'll do Wicked Eyes before or after Western Approach, but I do want Alistair and Morrigan in Skyhold together to trigger that scene where they meet again, without having to backtrack before Crestwood.)

The voice acting for Solas could be a master class.

I managed to hold onto my dignity when Gideon Emery was at BlizzCon, but I don't think I'd be able to contain the fangirling if I met Gareth David-Lloyd.  It would be very embarrassing for everyone.

You'd better believe my Lavellan would be there for her best friend. Well, best guy friend. Her other closest friend was her first love.

On a side note, not to drag the Tumblr and other stuff in but it bugs me a lot when people oversimplify Dorian is your PC's best friend into 'gay BFF'. Like no, he's her Inquisition BFF who happens to be gay, though in my case, both of them being queer from cultures that have their stubborn biases brought them closer.

end rant.

Elven thighs.

Agreed. I honestly don't understand why people say gay bff in the first place instead of just saying bff. Seems completely ridiculous to me.

I've never had it work at all if I get the Warden before going to Orlais.  I had a world state with Loghain alive and father of Keiran, I did Crestwood before the ball and he never went to the garden, he stayed on the battlements.  Maybe it's different for Alistair.  I think Morrigan needs to already be in the garden when the Warden arrives to Skyhold.

Yea, this scene never did trigger for me. Of course I haven't tried since March so maybe they got it fixed since then? I still have another PT to go through so maybe it'll happen this time :)

I conscripted the templars with my Solas-romancing Lavellan :)  I was meh toward Fiona in the books, but I found her in-game portrayal immensely off-putting.  I will be the first to admit that it's an irrational dislike.

I've actually imagined how embarassing it would be like. I probably won't be able to recognize him at first, because 1) I don't care much for celebrities, even ones whose work I admire, I just focus on the work. 2) I have terrible memory for faces.

But as soon as he speaks... I'll be frozen in place and unable to think and behave decently.

So I'd avoid meeting him at all cost, even if I could.

OMG we were at Blizzcon at the same time!  It didn't work out for me to see the panel that he was on, I forget what panel my fiance didn't want to miss.  But he compromised with me so that I could see the panel that Jennifer Hale was on for the D3 VAs.  Sumalee was also on that panel.  I've been to 2 Blizzcons and that panel has been my best experience.

I think that was probably the most devastating thing about the Templar route for me. The Calling was the first DA book I read, and so I'm quite attached to Fiona as a character. I didn't expect to see her there at Haven - I was almost tempted to save & reload, as that was the world state where Alistair and Mahariel were lovers, and was supposed to be the best possible timeline for Ali :(

I'm not entirely happy with how Inquisition presented her character - as naive and reckless and inept, selling out to the magisters like that, seriously - and I wish they'd done her justice.

That's the weird thing.  You think these people are going to act differently somehow, but they're all really nice and disarmingly normal.  It makes it a bit easier to behave decently around them.

I loved that panel!  And I'm going to BlizzCon again this November, so if you're there, we should totally meet up!  I've loved all their VA panels; last year my boyfriend did the VA competition one :P  I'm way too shy to do anything like that.

Couldn't afford it this year.  We're just streaming it.  Hoping next year we can go again.

Ah, I totally missed the 'show your Lavellan' thing going on a few pages back. I really want to ask a few questions, though:

What is the first thing that you think about the moment you look at your Lavellan?
What stands out about her the most, in terms of appearance?

If you could change one thing about her, what would it be?

What is the first thing that you think about the moment you look at your Lavellan?

Her heavy, purple make-up. I chose it because I really wanted to give her make-up that would draw more attention to her vallaslin, so she got purple eyeshadow and really dark purple lips. It really fits her, although I would find it pretty comical on other characters. She sees it as warpaint, though, so it fits her really well, I suppose.

What stands out about her the most, in terms of appearance?

Mine, personally, always looks like she is judging people. Constantly. Her eyes are small slits and her scrunched up nose doesn't help. Then again, it fits her because she is a warrior, but still. Lenalas could judge people from a mile away and they would feel the death stare.

If you could change one thing about her, what would it be?

If I could change one thing about her, then I would give her a slit in one of her ears, as if someone had badly damaged it. It would fit her really well and would look pretty bad*ss. Sadly, we can't do that, though, so I have to be content with her little nose scar and the big one on her cheek.

Oh yeah, everyone's nice and normal to me until proven otherwise... But if he's nice, I'll just become even more Solas-obsessed and hellspirally. And in the unlikely event he's a jerk I'll be utterly heartbroken, so no way to win.

I just like to maintain diconnect between real life and magical headcanon land.

Found a Solas mod that rextures his face. It's... decent, but not my cup of tea.  But the description?  'Solas original design is meant to be very... generic, but also gentle and non-threatening.'

Okay, maybe I'm biased, but Solas is the best looking character in DAI.

Best looking butt for sure.

I have a terrible memory for voices (admittedly it's been over five years since Children of the Earth aired - which was the true end of Torchwood, don't let anyone else tell you otherwise) so I just assumed Solas was voiced by some random welsh actor. When I found out who he was, I think my first reaction was WAIT, THAT'S IANTO??!??

The voiceacting in BioWare games has completely spoiled me, I can not even play some games anymore because the voices are so wooden and dull!

I think the best male voices has belonged to Alistair, Fenris, Solas, Dorian and Garrus... Huh, what do you know, I romanced all of them (except Dorian, but I totally wanted to!)... what a strange coincidence...  :P

As for females, I would say my favorites are Morrigan, Isabella, Cassandra, Vivienne, Tali and Liara.  :)

I've met people whose work I love and been all nerves, but still, it's pretty cool to get to chat with them. The last VA I met was Raphael Sbarge, who is really, really nice.

Gareth David-Lloyd gave me so very many feelings. I watched Torchwood last December into January  after not watching past the first episode previously. It was the slow week around Christmas and I decided to marathon a TV show. Torchwood did not hook me until episode 4 of season 1, Cyberwoman,....and that pretty much sealed Ianto as my favorite character.

I choose well, always.

Mine's the opposite, at least in appearance :)

Adorkable :)  I modded her so that she has dimples AND freckles, though it's a little hard to see in certain light.  She is a tiny elven bundle of weaponized cute.

What stands out about her the most, in terms of appearance?
She has these big expressive green eyes.  And in a lot of the screenshots I wind up getting of her, she has the sad puppy face

If you could change one thing about her, what would it be?
Short of a magi-tek crossbow arm? :P  I know there's little point since the characters are almost always wearing gloves, but she has a lot of random scars on her hands and wrists from messing with traps and explosives.

What is the first thing that you think about the moment you look at your Lavellan?

Her fire-y ginger curls. Her hair in the game is actually exactly the hair I give her in HC. I think it makes her look playful, energetic and mischievous. She's the kind of person that doesn't get up, she springs to her feet, doesn't walk, she runs. So I think the hair portrays that well.

What stands out about her the most, in terms of appearance?

She always has a tiny smile, like she's in on a joke the rest of the world has missed. Even in moments when she's hurting.

If you could change one thing about her, what would it be?

I'd make her shorter. I imagine her somewhere around 5' 2" but still, she manages to stare down Solas who towers over her. :)

Er, and loads more actually. My list is too big! But Brandon Keener and GDL make me melt <3

Edit: I did meet Ramon Tikaram. He was adorable. I'm still not over it and I blush whenever I see him on tv. My husband has noticed >.<

I'd recommend not going near CoE.  Unless you like pointless deaths, gratitious 'darkness' and bisexual erasure.
