I had this idea about the Quizzy stumbling upon an asleep / meditating Solas, and here, this little scene was born:

.....
It was always a strange feeling, slightly eerie, to stumble upon Solas as he was sleeping. Though it seemed more like a meditation state.
First time it had happened, it was after a long day of fighting ancient corpses and avoiding traps in ancient Elven ruins. She remembered that moment perfectly.
The small group had made camp for night, but the Inquisitor found out during her watch that Solas had disappeared.
She woke up Cassandra to keep watch, then went into the Darkness, to search for him, and somehow, she knew where to find Solas. Earlier, he had looked very fascinated by a room they had explored. It was an ancient ritual chamber, overwhelming you with a sense of lost power and glory.
And of course, Solas was there, his face barely lit by the strange blue glow of the Veilfire emanating from his staff. His eyes were closed, his face very still, and in the deep silence of the room, the Inquisitor was almost sure she could hear him breathing.
His magic was like a small tingling feeling all around her, invisible, yet, all her senses were on the edge, as if the room was both here, and elsewhere. With him.
Then, the feeling disappeared at once, and she knew before seeing his face that he was looking at her.
"Solas, I didn't mean to interrupt you. But you should have told me you were leaving camp". His eerie purple gaze was on her face. She couldn't help but shiver. "I know you're a powerful mage, but no one should roam these ruins alone"
"I didn't mean to worry you. I felt... I felt something calling me here. I sense a hidden power in these walls"
"An enemy?"
He didn't answer at once, but smiled faintly.
"No, something else."
"Care to elaborate?"
"You're always so willing to get to the point" Despite the slight irony in his sentence, he was genuinely smiling.
"And you are always so cryptic..."
"Am I?"
His gaze was still on her face. Deep eyes that looked like they could see through your soul. She knew she should look somewhere else, anywhere else. She couldn't. His eyes were like hypnotizing amethysts.
"Inquisitor? Are you all right?"
Damn, he was now coming closer. The Veilfire light emanating from his staff made shadows play on his angular face. She was mesmerized.
"I... Let's go Solas. We'll come back later here with the group. It's not safe to be apart from the others".
"I see no immediate danger".
Damn. Was the Elf aware of what went through her mind? His eyes, his lips were so... Was he playing with her? Was she becoming mad daydreaming like this in the middle of haunted ruins? Well, couldn't be crazier than actually "sleeping" alone in these ruins.
"What are..." Her words disappeared in thin air, as his face now was only a few inches from hers.
"You know" he whispered "you're a beautiful sight to behold".
She certainly was quite a sight indeed, the powerful Herald of Andraste made doe eyed and speechless... Wait. Did he just say she was beautiful?
"Inquisitor! Solas! Here you are!" Cassandra and Varric stormed into the room. How could she not have heard them coming? "You'd been away for some time, thought you needed some rescue party". The dwarf was smiling broadly... and Solas had already stepped away from her... She knew it. She was cursed.
"Thanks Varric, we were truly lost indeed". Solas' voice was as cool as usual, but the irony was not lost to her.
Maybe, maybe there was still hope.
