I sit corrected.

Urgh, I hope not.  Romeo and Juliet were idiots.

And, they were, what, 15 year old idiots? Stupid teenagers do stupid teenager things when they face heart break, lol!

Other things from the keep, although I still can't get half of it to show up:

The Inquisitor's final choice results in either formally disbanding the Inquisition, or maintaining the Inquisition as a peacekeeping force that now reports to Divine Victoria.

The Inquisitor could dedicate the Inquisition to treating Solas as an enemy and stopping him at all costs, or trying to find a way to redeem Solas and convince him to turn away from his destructive path.

The questions being asked for the above choices, clarifying what is going on in each save state.

The keep is a really really cool idea. I just wish it were a tad more user friendly. It takes some getting used to.

Welp, there it is.  It really is up to you whether Solas is an enemy, or a misguided antagonist.

I really like that move on the devs' part.  The game tells you what you're doing: fighting Solas.  It's up to you to decide why.  I bagged on ME3 (and to an extent DA2) for dictating the why to us, and I'm glad to see that DA:I at least allows the character's personality and motivations to stay under our control.

It will be interesting to see if, in the next game, that choice will have an impact on the type of missions we can do and how easily we do them. I could see that the protagonist (Inquisitior or new protagonist linked to the Inquisitor) might not have access to the same ressources depending if the inquisition still exist. On the one side, the Inquisition means more men, more ressources, but also the constant threat of tipping your hand to Solas. If you go at it without the Inquisition, you have less baggage, but also less help. That could be interesting.

The Keep is so buggy.  It acts like I never played Descent at all.  No matter what I do I can't get those tiles to unlock.  I have so many world states that are incorrect, lol.  Same with the playthroughs.  I don't know if I'll ever clean it all up.

Wow, this is the wackiest thing to get to show up. Here's another Trespasser slide and description:

Spoiler

Interesting description. You would think that most people would take history lessons and know that corruption is far more destructive then most foes.

I keep saying I'll go back and finish Dawnguard and Dragonborn...but I probably won't.  Since I last played Skyrim, I'm on a new PC.  I still have the old savefiles and the list of mods I used, but I don't want to spend hours fiddling with mods.  Besides, I'm 99% sure some of them were pulled during the whole Steam fiasco.

I sided with the Imperials too; the backstory I'd come up with for my character is that she used to be an Imperial spy. And I didn't realize that murdering the b*tch who kidnaps you would lock me out of the Dark Brotherhood quests :D Luckily storming their hideout made me feel like a badass.

I love storming the hideout.  The only magic my Altmer uses is illusion (less OP than you might think - I'm using one mod that caps the 'spells cost X% less to cast' enchantment and another that rebalances stealth, so illusion goes from OP to actually needed to make it through some missions (I'm doing pure thieves guild run - no killing unless I can't avoid it.  Or killing the Dark Brotherhood)) so I keep casting Calm spells on all the members, making them go into their 'welcome to the Dark Brotherhood' speeches while I kill them.  Once I pickpocketed Nazir's scimtiars and he ran off and grabbed the nearest weapon - a fork.

I was in the middle of merging mods and making patches to enable everything to run together, plus I have several mods that were WIPs when I first downloaded them and I need to update.  Luckily I only use nexus so I don't need to worry about the Steam fiasco.

And, they were, what, 15 year old idiots? Stupid teenagers do stupid teenager things when they face heart break, lol!

Romeo was more in love with being in love, and he had a fetish for Capulets.

I have a lot of feelings today and someone's tweet just inspired me to go listen to "An End, Once And For All" and this was clearly a wise decision when one already has a lot of feelings. Might as well go put on "The Dread Wolf" next.

Gah, I'm still not sure what I'll go with as my canon for the Solas choice.

I mean, I do feel the "I'll stop you" fits my Lavellan better in that moment, when she's angry and betrayed and horrified. But if we're setting Inquisition policy for years to come, she'll have calmed down and will remember other times, and I don't think she'll believe it was all a lie. I don't think she'd totally give up on Solas.

I also worry about how they'll write a "Stop Solas at all costs" Inquisitor/Inquisition - that they'll be made close minded and thoughtlessly violent, rather than just committed to the world not being destroyed.

Really I wish there was a third option where the Inquisition kept its options open.

I love how, from a solely artistic perspective, the Quizzy is the main focus of the redeeming slide. Or, rather, the place where the ANCHOR was is the focus, framed by the bright circle. Why? Because Inky becomes Solas' one and only anchor.

If I had to guess, there might not be a lot of nuance to the choice. Redeem=possibility of Solas backing down, no redeem=he's probably going to remain an enemy. There's the possibility that we might be able to do something in the next game to re-evaluate those choices...but, then why put them on the keep? Personally I'd say to go with the outcome you'd like the best until we know what the endgame is.

Ooh. Really good catch.

Also Solas has a thing for triangles.

I dunno about comparing Solas and Lavellan to Romeo and Juliet. Solas is more like a Hamlet figure. In which case Lavellan would be Ophelia. Of course I might just feel that way because I loathe Romeo and Juliet, and I always wanted to save Hamlet from himself and see him marry Ophelia.

Trying to decide if I'll make a 'bad' playthrough in the keep alone.  I can't bring myself to be a jerk but kind of want a playthrough to see what happens if you hunt Solas....

Maybe I can convince my hubby to run it.  He did say that punching Solas will be satisfying to him after seeing me get so invested in him *whistles innocently*

I like you.

I can't stand Romeo and Juliet and I can't stand them being thought of as this great love story.  Because no, Romeo was just an idiot who wanted what he couldn't have and would've got bored of Juliet and started chasing after a different unobtainable girl.  The point of the play isn't this great doomed love but that teenagers are frigging idiots.

I like that regardless - you can stay in a relationship with him.  I know Giton did the "kill him" option.   Im looking forward to that.
