I'm not caught up in the thread, but I did have a Solas related dream last night.

I don't remember the whole thing, but I do remember we were investigating a murder, and we tracked it back to this Chasind bear lady who either was a bear or controlled bears or just had lots of bears... I don't know, the details are fuzzy.  And the initial fight was really hard, but then she retreated to her lair, and to get to her lair, you had to go through all these chompers and swinging saw blades and spike traps, sort of like in the Hercules Disney movie when Phil was training Hercules.  Anyway, I was like halfway through when I saw a cave entrance off to the side, and I thought, normally in these situations, that would lead around all the traps straight to the bear lady, so I went into it.  Only it wasn't a tunnel, it was just a normal cave with no other exits, but it did have a lot of things to investigate like weird cave paintings and a coin-operated clue machine, but I didn't have any coins.  Finally, my party shows up: Isabela, Varric, and Solas, and luckily, Solas has some coins, so I can get clues out of the clue machine.  I'm not really sure why we needed them, we knew the bear lady did everything.  Or maybe she didn't; Solas only had like 3 quarters so we didn't get many clues.  Anyway, then it started storming, so we decided to camp out until it stopped, and Isabela and Varric told stories around the fire, and Solas and I held hands.  I guess dream-me is very tame, unfortunately.

Ah, Umbridge... the character created seemingly for the sole reason of "loving to hate her". I usually dislike such characters, but I can't deny that Rowling did an excellent job in creating someone... well... deliciously despicable.

She was the worst. Out of all the antagonists I think she was the one that got under people's skin the most because she is so close to real life bullshit administrators.

I'm dropping by to drop some fanfiction:

http://archiveofouro...g/works/4854944

This is an alternate to the first meeting between my Lavellan and Solas.

It was fun to go back to the past. My Lavellan was a lot more tsundere back then.

Any recommendations for post-trespasser fanfics that are mainly centered around Solas and Lavellan's relationship?

I can't believe it. It's been so long since the main game and when I watch the waterfall scene, I still get quite sad and also want to punch his stupid face.

That's funny. Most of the reactions I see are like this:

Fan: Ughh, I hate that Solas! Who the **** that scrambled egg think he is huh?! Next time I see him, I swear I'll kick his teeth out!

*Solas appears*

Fan: OMG, it's Solas! I knew you would come back! Why can't you just love me? *sobs*

I like it, droso! I like difficult beginnings - more fun with a bit of tension. She reminds me a lot of my warden :)

He's a classic Ravenclaw, could you imagine him being anywhere else?

My quizzy was just a lowly Hufflepuff though . A little curious, and will occasionally indulge in some thrill-seeking dragon hunting on the side, but at core she's very grounded and mostly concerned about ordinary people.

I doubt it's anything, but I was wandering around Emerald Graves with Solas and Sera in the party and I got this banter (this is almost all on Solas' end except for the second to last line - Sera hardly said a word):

I wonder if this pertains at all to Solas' plans for the future? The "No one cell can betray all your secrets" thing kinda makes me think it's wise of us to disband the Inquisition. Maybe I'm just overthinking it.

Haha, for me I pretty much got angry immediately when I saw him in trespasser. Lavellan was in pain and he took too much time walking foward to ease it. I was expecting him to rush forward and hold Lavellan as she collapses or something. And then he basically said that he was going to kill everyone including Lavellan in a few years, which made me even more angry. It didn't help that I was playing all day on nightmare mode and came to the final scene at like 4:00 AM. Then after a few days of rewatching the romance scenes and listening to the dread wolf music piece, I finally feel more understanding towards him. I don't think he is doing all this to save a few ancient elves. I am starting to suspect that all spirits in the fade were originally ancient elves, but they became less complex over time because they are separated from the physical world or something. If he wants to save all spirits because they are in some ways damaged, then I guess his plans are more understandable.

Same with mine. She's a more open character, but also very concerned with people and gets along with multiple types. But it's one reason she grew close to Cole even with the Dalish weirdness when it comes to spirits.

So......I've been replaying Origins as I said to romance Zevran for science......and I have to say....

Romancing Zevran has to be like, the best post-Trespasser Solas rehab ever. Every time I have ever played Origins I have always romanced Alistair. He is like my Solas for Origins....but now.....

Solas left me so heartbroken that I was able to romance someone else.

I also felt bad after seeing Cullen in the Mage Tower again. It has been a long time since I played that scene.

I think after this Origins play through....I'm going to have to roll a Quizzy to romance him to make myself feel better.

And this is where one starts to realizes you may or may not have a problems in dealing with your fictional video game relationships.

The future, perhaps, but more than anything I think we got a glimpse of the way he led his rebellion in the past. He was good enough at it that the evanuris wrote propaganda against him and his influence :P. He certainly managed to unnerved them at the time. Perhaps he will try it again, but this time at least, I doubt his plans include harassing anyone. After all, he's not leading a rebellion this time around and he want people living in peace for the years they have left (well, he might fight against those who would want to shatter the peace *glares at the qunari* but has no reason to go against southern Thedas unless they attack first).

What I find interesting is that our Inquisitors have been around him long enough by now to have gotten a good glimpse at the way he thinks and strategize. That will make for a good chess game in the future :)

I still can't bring myself to play the game. Not the main game, not the DLC, nothing. I haven't played since I finished Tresspasser.

You're not alone. I still need to redo Trespasser and actually finish the side quests this time and I can't bring myself to go through it again. It's still too painful. I won't watch most videos about it either for the same reason :(

Edit : Also, can I just say your signature makes me smile every time I see it?

Well, Zevran is pretty much the only DA relationship that by the time of DAI is still going AND you're not separated from one another. So that's the one if you want longterm stability. Which makes for good recovery, yes. :P

I watch the videos sometimes at my lowliest lows, the same way I'd dump pictures of my ex in a box, saying, "Good riddance, bastard!", only to look at them and sob at 3 am.

Glad you like the sig!

Yes, exactly - which is why I find it baffling that some people claim that Inquisition/Inquisitor CAN'T be the one who deals with Solas, because he's infiltrated Inquisition and knows how they work.

Well... who else knows how HE works or thinks better? Even disliked Inquisitors who never had patience for his endless explanations, EVER, got a glimpse of his tactics and strategies, as well as information on his past (in Trespasser) likely very little people in modern Thedas know (or even try to accept! I mean... he created the VEIL! What Chantry claims is a lie!).

I mean, WHO else is there? And who else could it be? I suppose we can always count on Bioware uncovering some people who actually know him better (Evanuris, Forgotten Ones, rogue agents?), but there's no way in hell they'd become new protagonists AND BW would have to do one heck of a job to re-establish relationships and information we already have all over again.

Really, at this point there's no one better to stop him than Inquisitor. The DLC was pretty clear about that and the recently updated Keep and tile descriptions only confirm that Inquisition is definitely fully invested in stopping/saving Solas.

I haven't either but I've watched Trespasser videos a lot. I played Life is Strange episode 4 after Trespasser and the feels....

Part of it is I couldn't decide who to play next. I have Seramancing Trev mage concept ready. I now have a m!Lavellan concept for Cassandra. And I have a soon to be Rift Mage Lavellan who is right before Skyhold and intended for Solas.
