I've been trying to glean LI info to no avail, maybe tomorrow during the 'Universe of Dragon Age' Panel. 
I just want them to rip this proverbial romance band aid already. Then again, after the rage-fest in the PC-Ui thread, do they risk more fan tears?

I'm not too bothered by the 8 ability thing, I never used many in either games, 10 maybe 12. Not including the side I kept for potions and shenanigans.

Anyway, I too, hope for a Solas LI. Even more so they said the relatioships should feel like real relationships. So I hope we really get moments that slowly create a bond between the player and the character. Having rendez-vous would be awesome .

Wow what a s*it storm the limit of 8 abilities created. I've been reading through the thread and am on page 17 out of 36. It doesn't bother me in the least. I play mainly for the story. I feel bad for everyone who is disappointed, but some people in that thread are really over reacting. Anyway love all the Solas fan fics, keep em coming. I hope something really good gets revealed this weekend, like the last 2 LIs.

I hope so too, but looking at the schedule I can't see where they could possibly come out with that. I think there's a general DAI panel somewhere, so maybe there? Or maybe they'd bust it out during one of the SP demos, since Solas is one of the characters in it!

Watch the last LIs will be revealed by random tweets. I wouldn't be surprised if they reveal Viv as a LI first & leave the last 1 until weeks down the line. But, please don't leave it unsaid until the game comes out.

To be honest, I'm half expecting them to never tell us the last two until we find out in-game...  But I'm hoping they'll have mercy.

I know it sounds strange but I think they should just reveal who the last love interest isn't of the three. That would be a simple single reveal and would provide an opportunity for sympathy to the fanbase that isn't going to get who they wish.

I adore the fanfic stuff LadyKarrakaz! It's seriously amazing and I was squealing from the cuteness   

 

Since there seem to be a lot of fanfic stuff being posted, I haven't posted in this thread in too long, and I have been editing this thing for wayyyy too long, here have a thing.

_{I'm sorry it's probably really awful...but I've had it just sitting there since early July....Feel free to give me criticism if you want...This is the first time I'm posting a fanfic thingy on here.}

 

Btw, this story thing was using that "the piece of the fade in the Inquisitor is what is keeping them alive and once they close the last breach they will die" headcanon thing from a while ago, even though I realize that it probably will not be like that considering you can still play the game after the end XD I still thought it would be a fun idea to write with

Elsie looked around at the inferno. Terror built up inside her chest, and she felt as if she might burst. She tried to scream, but when she opened her mouth the only sound that came out was a choking cough which caused her to double over in pain.

 

The smoke was everywhere -- blanketing her in its hot and suffocating grasp – and its acrid scent burned her lungs and made her eyes water. The heat of the flames pushed in on her from every side. Her senses were overwhelmed, and it took her a frantic moment to remember that she was in the circle’s library.

 

She heard a sickening crack and a second later smoldering papers rained down on her from above as one of the large bookcases nearby started to crumble at its base. The paper that touched her skin burnt her like hot coals and she jerked away, scrambling backwards and falling to the ground. Her head hit the marble floor with a thud, and a new wave of pain overtook her. This wasn’t how it was supposed to end. She didn't die here, did she?

 

She tried to get up, but the dizziness forced her down again and her vision swam. Then her heart stopped as she heard an impossibly loud and terrible sound. She looked up in time to see the darkness descending down on her, and she closed her eyes for the last time, praying for a quick end.

She woke up with a start to see worried violet eyes and hear calming words. She didn’t know where she was and she looked around wildly. The grey stone walls, the large fireplace, and the door leading out to the garden balcony. Everything started fitting together as her memory caught up. She was in Skyhold, this was her home. She hadn’t been in that circle for months.

 

She looked over to see the very concerned elven man by her bedside. It took her another moment to remember what had happened. There had been a fight, a dragon. But why was she here, and why did she feel as if she’d been half roasted to death? The fire had just been a nightmare.

 

“S...Solas?” Her voice cracked and the raspy sound surprised her. He lifted a cup filled with water to her lips, it tasted amazing, and she drank it greedily. He pulled it back before she had the chance to make herself sick, and then started, “Elsie…” but before he could say anything she cut him off.

 

“What happened, and why do I feel as if I’ve been roasted by a dragon?” She asked, testing her voice, finding it was not as painful.

 

He gave her a small grin and chuckled “I believe that’s what happens when one runs in front of a dragon’s blast.” Then he paused and his expression became more serious, “How are you feeling?”

 

She was confused for a second then her eyes widened as she remembered. Solas had been standing far from the dragon, but not far enough. She had seen what the beast was planning to do, but he had not. She was trying distract it and takes its focus away from him when the fire had come, “How am I alive?” She asked quietly.

 

His eyes softened and he took her hand in his; the rough fabric of his glove warmed her clammy hand and soothed her, “Dorian and Cole were able to distract it long enough for me to get to you. There wasn’t much I could do with the threat of the dragon, so we were forced to flee to cover where I could heal you. The burns were terrible. Why did you do it?” His question surprised her and she was quiet for a second.

 

“I saw that it was going to attack you, I wasn’t thinking. It seemed like a good idea at the time.” She said with what she hoped was a convincing smile. She couldn’t possibly admit her real reason to him; she had only just admitted it to herself.

 

He raised an eyebrow, “So I need to treat you for mental instability as well?”

 

She laughed awkwardly and tried to scramble together a better excuse, “Well I couldn’t just let you burn and ruin all the fun.” He still looked unconvinced, so she added, “Plus you’re our best healer.”

 

He shook his head with a sigh, “I believe that position belongs to you.” But he didn’t question her further. She could tell he was upset by her flimsy answers, but there wasn’t anything else she could say. They sat in an uncomfortable silence for a few moments. There was too much left unsaid between them. She had risked her life for him, and she was sure he knew why, but she couldn’t bring herself to say it. It would hurt them both too much.

 

She tried to find something to distract her and then realized it was raining. She hadn’t heard the sound before because the talking had pulled her attention away from it. The windows were shuttered which softened the sound, but even so it was unmistakable.

 

When she started to sit up and then swing her legs over the side of the bed Solas looked at her with concern and a question in his violet eyes, but he made no move to stop her. He knew that she wouldn’t try it if her injuries were bothering her. He was right at least in that she was the better healer, and she knew when she was overdoing herself.

 

She stood up and supported herself with the bedpost until she was able to walk over to the doors that let out onto the balcony. She opened one and the sound of the rain increased to a dull roar; it was pouring. She stepped out onto the wet stone and looked up at the dark, cloudy sky.

 

After a moment she realized that she was still completely dry, and she looked back to see Solas standing in the doorway. He didn’t have to concentrate on the simple spell, but she could feel that the magic came from him. She smiled faintly, “You know, I enjoy the rain.”

 

He gave her a small smile in return and replied, “Oh yes, I know.” Then when she rolled her eyes he added, “Catching cold may not be in your best interest.” When she raised her eyebrow he stopped the spell, and she gasped in surprise as the cold rain drenched her skin within seconds. Then she grinned from ear to ear.

 

The rain felt refreshing and washed away most of the suffocating feeling that lingered from the nightmare. She turned away from Solas and walked over to the railing and propped her elbows up on it before looking down at the gardens. The lights of Skyhold and the small sliver of visible moon were the only sources of light in the twilight rain, but she could still almost make out the bright colors of the flowers below and the figures of the swaying trees.

 

Her mind started to wander and before she knew it she was thinking of the nightmare once more. It had been in the circle that she had been taken to when she was twelve; the Ostwick circle had been her home for just short of twenty years, but when the war broke out the tower was turned upside down and she was left to flee or be killed by the templars who saw her as a threat. She had lost friends in that first fire, and until the breach had opened she had never seen anything more terrifying. At least with the fire she had been healed, but the aftermath of the breach did not grant her the same courtesy.

 

The mark on her hand would never leave her, it would always be there mocking her, forcing her to relive that day at the conclave over and over again. The nightmare of the fire had been a nice change in comparison to the usual nightmares. Those nights she woke screaming, but the sound was drowned out by a thousand other screams deafening her with their despair as they were ripped asunder. She turned her thoughts away from the nightmares, staring back out at the garden. Anything would be better than those memories.

 

She was lost in a bittersweet memory when she felt Solas’ hand on her shoulder and nearly jumped, “Maybe it’s best to go back inside?” He suggested. She smiled sadly at him, but didn’t reply. When he realized she was not making an effort to leave the rain he sighed and mirrored her position at the railing.

 

“Isn’t it beautiful?” She asked after a few minutes of silence, interrupted only by the noise of the rain, had stretched out between them. For a moment she thought he hadn’t heard her, so she glanced over to him only to see that he was staring at her with an unreadable expression.

 

When she caught him staring he blinked and looked away. It made her smile briefly before she noticed something on his cheek. It was a rather deep cut that ran from his chin to his ear. She didn’t know how she’d missed it before. He evidently hadn’t taken the time to heal himself after the battle, and she realized there were a few other new cuts and bruises that decorated his face and neck.

 

Without thinking she reached up and cupped his cheek with her hand. He looked startled and nearly pulled away before she sent a wave of healing magic through her palm to mend the cut.

 

He moved to face her, but she didn’t remove her hand, instead tracing the line of his cheekbone with her thumb. The way he looked at her, so tenderly, made her mind blank and she had an overwhelming urge to kiss him. Instead she tried to pull her hand away.

 

As she did he grabbed it and held it in his own, “Elsie…” He said, but couldn’t seem to find the words he had meant to say. Her heart raced and she cursed herself mentally.

 

She took the hesitation to try to distract him and avoid the look he was giving her, “You were hurt. Why didn’t you heal yourself? What if it had gotten infected? Surely you…” She was cut off as he leaned down and crushed his lips against hers. For a moment she was too surprised to react, but then she returned the kiss in earnest. It was perfect, completely perfect, and it was everything she had longed for. She was lost in the kiss, in his embrace, but then the reality of it came crashing down on her too quickly and she pulled away from him.

 

He looked hurt and confused as she back away from him, “I’m sorry Solas….I…I have to go.” She said before fleeing back through the door. She hesitated for only a second once she was in the room. She refused to look back and see Solas standing in the rain, so she made for the door and exited into the quiet corridor beyond it.

 

She wasn't surprised when the first thing she noticed in the hallway was an unruly mop of blonde hair; the young man that it belonged to was fast asleep and slumped over in a chair as if he was there on a vigil but had dozed off. She smiled softly, but didn’t move to wake him. Cole didn’t even budge when she closed the door behind her. She wondered how long he had been sitting there.

 

She didn’t think on it long before saying a soft goodnight and wandering down the hall in the opposite direction. She needed to clear her head and think, and she needed to do it as far away from Solas as possible.
