Well I don't remember a lot of people wanting to romance Duncan..

 

I wanted to.  Also Sten.  It looks like I will be getting my older, quiet-type this time around one way or another.  I hope it's Solas but Blackwall will totally work for me too.

...what if if Solas and Blackwall are LI, one is straight and the other gay?  that would make still things "equal" for straight females and gay guys...(three gay LI, three straight male LI)

 

ok, I'm a little too much pessimistic...  but really...if so...if Solas is straight, with Sera it would break completely the trend "all elves are BI" we had to hear for forever (maybe not here in this forum, but anywhere else I have to hear the same things over and over) and Blackwall if gay would break the trend "there is no gay LI who is also a knight type".

 

of course my preference would be the last two LI being BI, whoever they are.

I don't know... I'm curious about Blackwall, but the (admittedly very little) we know about him reminds me of my dad, personality wise. If he ends up more like Duncan, I could maybe get behind his romance - but it would mean of the three guys I have to choose from for romance - all are burly warrior dudes. Personally, I've been wanting a slightly awkward, intellectual mage to romance since meeting Finn in Witch Hunt.

 

Edit: Blrgh... I just realized I typed 'romance' three times in as many sentences. My writing skills are going out he window... sh!t's getting dire, Bioware! Reveal the LI's already!

Don't be so sure that we'll only get one male LI out of the final two. We could get both Blackwall and Solas.

I loved Finn!!! I was very sad he was never mentioned after Witch Hunt...I headcanon that he and Ariane have travelled with my Warden and her Dog instead of disappearing. at the end of DA2 (maybe with Warden Alistair too, since Awakening said they disapperared together)

Yeah.  I'm really easy to please but Solas would definitely add more variety to the LI pool.  I think I mentioned elsewhere that Solas is my preference but I can't be too disappointed since I'd happily take all three of the remaining potential LIs.  And Blackwall would also fulfill my minimum requirements for the older, quiet-type romance I'd have liked since DAO.

 

@Felya:  This is also true.  If both remaining LIs are male it's harder to say what orientations they may have.  They can't both be straight but that's all we've got.

I was annoyed that my Warden had to bend over backwards to get Sten to call her that, while all Shale had to do was gawk at his muscles and mock Fereldans to be "kadan".

He was adorable   They keep bringing back characters, so I'm kind of hoping we get to see him again. We are going back to Ferelden after all,., and i believe the Circle there came down as well, so maybe? I like to headcanon that he ran off with Ariane as well - because they'd make for the cutest odd couple ever! (I love mage/non-mage and human/elf pairings... even more so when it's female human/male elf... *makes grabby hands at Solas*)

He referred to Shale as Kadan too. I think it's just a sign of respect.

Sten was impossible, of course, it wouldn't have worked with his character.  But that is being logical.

Kadan is the only term of endearment qunari have.  It's for pretty much anyone you'd be disappointed to see die in a fire.

Right? I liked Sten, but I felt like in order to get his approval up I had to not let him travel with me at all. Even with my more pragmatic characters I kept getting approval drops. I never even noticed the Shale thing, but... what gives, Sten?

 

... Kind of like how Fenris will dump you if you ever flirted with any of the other companions, but if you don't romance him he ends up with Isabela, who is, well, Isabela. I was like, really

yep. I always ship them in my head. I find them too cute. (and their banter was a little like an old married couple already ^^)

Hmm... so I was just reading the PAX thread (hoping someone had maybe uploaded a video of the SP demo) and re-read Lady Nuggins' post... hmmmm.... For some reason I confused it in my mind with that tweet from yesterday... So, then, not only did a random "Solas is my boyfriend" tweet get liked by Allan, but a DA staff person said the same thing at the demo...

For some reason I confused it in my mind with that tweet from yesterday... So, then, not only did a random "Solas is my boyfriend" tweet get liked by Allan, but a DA staff person said the same thing at the demo...

I took Sten almost everywhere, failed at finding pretty muchy every one of his gifts, still bffs. The approval you can gain from a single conversation with him is insane (also, I'm an ass).

I keep trying to phrase my tweets as if something has been said. Maybe we should all be like 'Solas confirmed as romance? Called Boyfriend at Pax' Tweets to everyone. xD

I just feel it's dragging on too far, especially after the Varric fiasco. Better to rip it off now so things can die down.
