Well you guys have seen everything I have, as I haven't gone to the multiplayer demo yet. The single player demo was the same as at Gamescom, but it was nice to hear different commentary. It was a little more laid back, so the devs were cracking lots of jokes.

I will tell the Solace fans that somebody introduced him as "This is Solace, also known as my boyfriend." Of course, that's very open to interpretation, and she also confessed her love of his VA, so don't take that as confirmation of anything.

When Blackwall was introduced, they said "He's the strong, silent type. If you were sad about not getting to be with Duncan..."

Everyone also cheered when the jar of bees were deployed.

(Everything always happens while I'm asleep, man!)

So, it's really hard to take the "Solas is my boyfriend" thing another way. [HEART PALPITATIONS] But, I'm reading two different intentions into the line about Blackwall.

1) If you were sad about not getting to be with Duncan, you're gonna be super excited because he's an LI!

or

2) If you were sad about not getting to be with Duncan, you're gonna be so sad because he's not an LI, sorry.


The second option seems a tad cruel, however. I, uh, fear for the forums should it be announced that Vivienne isn't an LI. Like, a lot. And I'd feel wretched for the lesbian gamers. Not that there's any guarantee that she'd be open to F/F relationships, but, well...

BUT LET'S NOT FOCUS ON THAT. HOW ABOUT ALL THESE TERRIBLE HINTS GUYS.

 

It does kinda feel like they're building up to the reveal, right? Like, normally they're not so cavalier when joking about romantic intentions. (They know us. We're terrible.) Monday guys. If it's gonna happen at this convention, I've got my money down on Monday.

Pretty much this. The last time they were so free with the teasing was right before the Iron Bull reveal, so here's hoping. Also in regards to the 'hint' about Blackwall - really hard to say without hearing the tone of it. I keep hoping someone will upload the SP demo already - even if it is the same as the Gamescom one, it sounds like they went a bit more in depth, and that there was some fun comments from the devs. Also, the talk about Solas' voice, and mention of a new Cole line, makes me think we'll hear a bit more of our favorite apostate as well

It does sound like Solas and Blackwall will be the remaining two LIs, although I guess the sentence about Blackwall could be interpreted as platonic. I would have preferred Solas+Viv, but hey... I can live with that as long as I get Solas and Cullen.

 

The outrage it will cause if the last two LIs are male, though...

Also, I find myself always looking at Solas's feet in fan art and in-game. I don't know why, there's just something so cute about those silly toeless boots. Like, the rest of his feet are covered why not just go all the way, man?

Yeah, there have been a lot of offhand mentions and jokes lately, haven't there?  Hopefully that means they're giving us answers soon instead of collecting fan tears for their martinis.

Phate Phoenix, I'm a bit bemused as to why you would feel wretched for lesbian games if Vivienne isn't a love interest?   At least they have Sera and Josephine, who are contrastingly different characters.    Same applies to gay gamers who currently have Dorian and Iron Bull.    Straight males currently have Cassandra and Josephine.    However straight females have Cullen or Iron Bull, both chunky warrior types.   If you add in Blackwall to the mix, that makes 3 chunky warrior types   Admittedly their characters will be different but I wonder how different Cullen and Blackwall would be, considering both are committed to a particular organisation.    Solas seems to be the only one who gives a completely different choice from both physical and intellectual point of view.

 

I keep coming back to the fact that we are having to play a Dalish elf and their culture looks very poorly on non elf romantic liaisons.   Of course you can play a bit of a rebel but if you play as a strict Dalish, then a female would have to opt for a lesbian romance and a male would be left with nothing.   Seems a bit hard to me.

 

What also puts me off Vivienne personally is the fact that they have heavily hinted she has a hidden agenda.    In DAO we had our mage romance with a hidden agenda: Morrigan; in DA2 we had our mage romance with a hidden agenda: Anders; if Vivienne becomes a mage romance with a hidden agenda I will start thinking it is a Developer tradition which cannot be broken.

As for Blackwall and Cullen being similar: eeeeeeehh... Cullen's a straight-laced guy, while Blackwall actually feels more like the Bull to me. But I do agree that Solas is a completely different kind of character, and I'd be very glad to have him as an option. Obviously, as I am a card-carrying Solassian. 

 

And yeah, it sucks about the Dalish thing. I mean, male Dalish don't even get the hope of an option, so, that obviously wasn't something the Writers were overly concerned with. To be fair, a Dalish concerned with only having elf children probably wouldn't pick Solas, either.

 

(I do rather like Vivienne, though. If she keeps her ice-cool, self-first, ambitious nature through an entire romance plot, it could be very interesting.)

Kind of already addressed, but just wanted to point out that the person who tweeted that is Lady Nuggins here on the forum. She's just a fan who is attending PAX and was reporting that as something heard while the SP demo was being introduced.

I remember one the devs saying that if they put a mailbox ingame, they'd be pretty sure someone would ask to romance it.
