Ugh, I don't need the guilt, Solas, but it's there. I haven't finished anything in a month. Really, I've been trying to come up with a scenario where Solas&Lavellan do, uh, things, to finish out a prompt I started, but it's not flowing. I tried starting a couple of others, but keep going back to that other one and deleting everything.

Haha, now I'm half-expecting there to be some obscure dialogue branch on low approval where Solas reveals the entirety of his plan. He really gives a lot more information to rivalled inquisitors - probably doesn't think they have the skill or finesse to use it.

I do like exploring their relationship to one another at various times and Nirwen's character through these stories but it's still frustrating for things other than what you want to write are the only things that come out.

While it could be easily taken as "well, they needed to go somewhere and Skyhold's not too far away" and not much of a surprise on its own (it was not that had to figure out even in he base game that Solas had something to do with that place), this only seems to confirm what I'm suspecting may be going - Solas is grooming a successor...

I see. Yeah, I feel pretty much the same then. I want to and should compete this chapter while I still have the time, and this is the only missing piece they leads to an exchange between then that is soooo rivalicious. At least to me.

But soup is not a very inspiring start of the chapter

Solas: Well *goes into a long rant about the corruption and rot of this world* and then I pull down the Veil.

I can see him offering to cool her soup off with magic, in some condescending way, after he sees her blowing on it for the the fifth time.

 

I haven't been able to do any Solavellan stuff since finishing Trespasser.

It's not just the Trespasser ending - though having confirmation that his plan is really just that bad, is making me rethink a lot about his character (particularly how he seems to "protect" a romanced Lavellan by telling her less. Ugh, I have so been there with my family keeping things from me).

 

I like it when Lavellan is shown to have a life outside of Solas, so kudos for you on that! I've only been writing things that are very in the moment, so to speak, so I don't get to explore that as much.

I'm curious where the soup is going.

 

I actually have an opening for the story I'm working on and things I want to happen, but I need a bridge. That's the part that isn't coming yet. And I'm trying to add in some fluffiness.

 

The story itslf stands alone but will also be slightly a bridge to her vallaslin choice and further growing up things (also this whole thing with Nehn doesn't stay a secret forever )..

Are you referring to the "not really, no" option, or something different?

I'm also trying to track down a video of low approval inquisitor asking why the world has to die for the elves to return. I assume Solas has a different response than "you've always shown a thoughtfulness I respected", and I'm curious what it is.

Here is the look I'm talking about. This is All New, Faded For Her. Pay attention at 5:16 in the video. He is smiling as he turns to deal with the mages. And not a cute "Is that a serious question?" smile.

Here is the low approval dialogue at the end of Trespasser. Watch at around 1:44. Solas has a very similar look to him as he talks about the possibility of this world ending.

 

 

Another thing to note is that both times Solas makes this face he is either facing away or in the process of facing away from the Inquisitor. These are the times Solas let's his face show his true emotions.

 

It's this face that shows Solas has a very, very dark side if he feels justified in what he is doing in my opinion. It's like subtle mixture of amusement and pleasure.

Color me disturbed.

 

I'm trying to take this seriously but the All New, Faded For Her quest starts with him drinking tea and I just can't see anything but an unsatisfied puppy look
