I'm happy to see another... "non-traditional" appearing Lavellan in the group.
Mine is no great beauty, but besides that also has a broken nose and a honking ugly scar and it is perfection for who she is. Though she is a bit more on the motherly side. Just, you know, the sort of mother whose young you don't threaten else she'll end you.
As my personal favorite elf once put it... go team, hurrah! ![]()
Alley is protective as hell of the whole group, albeit not in a motherly way. She's especially protective of the mages, because of the little half-brother she lost. Unbeknownst to her until later in the DAI timeline, her little Erynion Tabris was put down in the records (and raised as) Tannusen Surana... who also came to be known as the Hero of Ferelden. (Veilfire Bones takes place in the same universe as Silver and Scarlet, which is my smut-filled Warden series ft. Tannu.)
So anyway, she failed to protect him... templars came and got him when he was a young spark. She failed Adaia, failed Nelaros, failed Shianni... failed the whole Denerim alienage when her mien'harel rebellion against Vaughan (and his entire guard) lead to another purge.
She's a little angsty ball of broken bones and wrecked vocal chords and bitter self-loathing and self-destruction, and she will gut and string up anyone who tries to hurt anyone she considers under her protection, which is the entire Inquisition crew by the end.
And, when it comes time, she'll protect Solas from his own damn self whether he likes it or not.
Them Tabris', man, they have a reputation for being awfully uppity. (No wonder they've apparently been passing down a dagger known as the "Fang of Fen'Harel" since at least the time of the Dales. Makes me wonder if they're descendants from some of the slaves he freed, or something. The dagger's something I need to work into the story at some point, because damn.)
Have another random Alley screenshot since I'm rambling everyone's ears off... eyes out? Hm. Anyway I teal deer at the drop of a hat. ![]()

I just enjoy the sheer level of "I'm too old for this ****" in this one. Just... dead-eyed, covered in blood, "this is not my first rodeo".
Alley is like... she's like that older cop in every movie who's so close to retirement, but crap keeps happening. I like to describe her as someone who drinks straight out of the coffee pot. That's her archetype. ![]()
