Indeed, tis is true. I sincerly hope she helps up stop Solas in his plans though.
My Morrigan also now has all the power and knowledge of the Well. I hope that doesn't bite my Lavellan in the ass.

Well, this thread is about 750 posts from hitting 130k.
Ever since Trespasser, we've posted so much that the Cullen thread went from being like 15k more than this one to about 6k

What'll be even MORE fun is if she's the one that steps up to rip the Veil or do something similarly catastrophic if/when Solas is stopped!
I do wonder about that though. Supposedly DAO was meant to be narrated by an old Morrigan telling the story of the past, and the events are what we play through. Which makes me wonder if she'll be the survivor/good one/whatever in the end, or if that changed long ago too.

Cullen's thread is so large because he's been around for three games. I see the Solas thread overtaking that as the next couple of years go by since Cullen's story is more or less wrapped up. just imagine what a new character would have to do to take that honor from the Solas thread four years from now. ![]()
I don't think Morrigan has Mythal's essence yet. She may be intended for it, but we've seen no indication that she has gained it. (My Mahariel is going to need to sit down after hearing about all this, at any rate.

There's no evidence of this yet, no, it's all speculation.
But, with Solas talking about the murder of Mythal being such a heinous crime that it warranted locking all the Evanuris away, then whatever he did to the body Mythal was in to take her power, I'm 99% certain her essence was preserved and Mythal lives on. Most likely in Morrigan.
You know, i've always wondered what Morrigan would've thought of Solas being another 'Elven god'.. Possibly not surprised, given that her own mother is Mythal, but i do wonder though..
Let's take a moment to imagine everyone's reaction to Solas being Fen'Harel.
Cullen: He's who?
Vivienne: It seems I was mistaken. I thought that fool Solas would end up possessed by the very demons he claims as friends. Now I know he already was one. His apparent power did nothing for his appearance though.
Varric: Huh, this should surprise me. The unassuming elven mage offers his knowledge to the powerful organization without anything in return... no, nevermind, I should of saw it a mile away. Now the best way to tell Daisy...
Cole: He didn't want to have to hide, but everything was different and they wouldn't understand. Everything has to change again, it's better if they never knew.
Cassandra: Andraste preserve us! We trusted him, I trusted him, and it was all a deception. I... I need some time alone.
The Iron Bull: Hmmm, magic and demons and gods and sh*t. *Grunts* Should of noticed there was something off about him. He was too used to battle, too used to dealing with people. Sh*t, I'm going to need to use the Qunari training exercise again. *Grumbles* Always has to be weird sh*t.
Dorian: You're trying to tell me that Solas, our Solas, is an ancient elven god? The same person who ran around dressed as a hobo setting his coattails on fire? I'm starting to understand the fall of the elven empire better.
Leliana: I did not think... I had not thought to look into his past better. He avoided speaking of it, I thought to respect his privacy. I should have... *sighs* it is done. I can only move forward and learn from this mistake. Maker guide us all in our time of need.
Sera: You mean Mister Thinks-Elfy-Things-Are-So-Much-Better is a demon elfy not-a-god? No. Just no. Everything can't be so crazy right? Thinks he's so great being creepy weird demon-pants and all that elfy stuff is so great. He can still feel an arrow yeah? Right, just an arrow in the face, and done. Nothing else, everything stops getting weirder and we all go back to being normal.
Josephine: This is all... almost to much to comprehend... and what will people think when they find out that he was a trusted companion? I never would of imagined... this isn't something people will soon forget.
Blackwall: I took a name that wasn't mine, I hid the truth from my comrades and was found out. He saw all of it and watched behind his own mask.
Morrigan: Tis' unexpected indeed... that he was ever someone so competent.

Yup, I have no doubt the essence of Mythal still exists, I just don't think Morrigan possesses it yet. It appeared that Flemeth pushes something, that I think was the essence, through the eluvian. But we've yet to see that Morrigan receives it. Mythal's essence has been without form before, and found its way. I'm just not assuming Morrigan has it until it's actual fact.
I'd also rather something like that didn't happen somewhere off-screen. Morrigan has fought very strongly against being "possessed" by Flemeth in the past, I don't think it should be a "lol okay" sort of occurance. Especially if she's romanced and has a child, allowing herself to become the avatar of an elven goddess shouldn't be taken lightly.
I'm fic writing when I should be work writing. But I am slowly writing something kind of ...not angst-ridden and on the fluffier side? It is taking longer but it's coming along.
So... a dual wielding rogue can have a dagger prosthetic, but archers can't have a special prosthetic with re-attachable bow?
Well... the one does sound a lot more reasonable than the other, but again, I just think it's ridiculous to think that an archer would have an easier time adjusting.

I really love the one where they're kissing under the trees, it's beautiful and the subtle gold outlining looks awesome (especially in her hair and her earrings) but it definitely looks like Lavellan is stepping on his foot XD That's what he gets for going around barefoot!
"Josie, do we really need to wear this...?" that's what I'm saying!
Aw, sad. That's a beautiful Lavellan too!
Merrill looks adorable!
See I don't have that sense of loss. In my opinion the mark was a (narrative) tool, one that served its purpose. We defined it, not the other way around. Our will and our choices are what shaped Thedas, the Mark is just something that anchored (yep, pun intedended) us to the events and the main plot. With a new plot... comes a new hand and new mechanics. I'm channeling my inner Luke here, and I can say with confidence I'd be a badass Jedi.

IMO, Lavellan's recovery is less about trying to replicate her original fighting style and more about prosthetics that ease her transition to a new fighting style. None of them, regardless of spec, will be able to fight quite the same as before. My archer Lavellan will likely never use a longbow in combat again. But she's an artificer, so the bulk of her fighting is based around stealthy traps anyway, and she has the crossbow arm for when she really needs to fill someone with messy holes.

This is how I have been thinking about Lavellan going forward. And since I figured my Lavellan would have gone with the whole summoning a spirit arm thingy, it got me thinking "You know, I bet eventually that arm would be pretty amazing actually"
I mean, if it worked at all like a Knight Enchanters shields that get stronger the more you fight....that would mean her arm would become like a weapon itself if she was in a fight long enough. Like, punch through stone walls business going on or something.

All very true. It's going to be a difficult transition no matter what. Not just for the combat either, just think about all the little things that would be *affected by a missing arm that your Inquisitor is going to need to relearn/adjust to.
The missing arm was the biggest shock in the whole DLC for me
poor Lavellan. We put you through so much. If I was a nice person I'd settle you down with Cullen or Josephine... instead I get off watching you make sad faces at Solas.
*I keep going back and fourth, is it affected or effected... stupid English.

I did consider Josie. Prettiest princesses forever
But I'm ultimately too much of a sucker for story to spare my Lavellan the pain ![]()
For my Lavellan, the hardest part of the transition isn't the fighting. It's crafting. And not just all the tiny, precise detail work she used to do on her own gear. She would make stuff out of whatever, whenever she was bored, just to keep her hands moving. Now every time she wants to make anything, even just maintaining her own gear, it's this massive, frustrating, time-consuming undertaking with a complicated custom prosthetic for all her tools.
She was always big on taking care of herself, never comfortable with having servants cook and clean for her even after three years of the Inquisition. So having to rely on others for basic stuff, even though it's only temporary, drives her up the wall.
What'll be even MORE fun is if she's the one that steps up to rip the Veil or do something similarly catastrophic if/when Solas is stopped!

I've been wondering about the possibilities of this happening as well. From in-game dialogue, it seems clear that Morrigan wants change and probably wouldn't be on the Inquisitor's side to stop Solas from tearing down the veil. IF Morrigan got Mythal's essence, she'd probably be even more into tearing it down.
The veil will probably come down anyway, but it's not 100% certain who will pull the trigger in the end.
I've sometimes imagined the scenario where the Inquisitor manages to talk Solas down (or kill him) before he could finalize destroying the veil only for Morrigan to jump out of the shadows and pull the big ol' Fade Switch.

Yeah, but I kinda felt like Flemeth was manipulating Morrigan in the fade.
Flemeth: "You were never in any danger from me" *leaves*
Morrigan: "Wait!"
It feels like Morrigan's attitude towards her has changed... at least a little. But that's all you need to start steering someone in the suitable direction.
Giving Mythal's essence to Morrigan would bypass the who-drunk-from-the-well issue, making it easier to portray her in the next games.
Edit: If i'm not making any sense, I apologize. I lost my second wisdom tooth and possibly my wisdom along with it.

Can you imagine trying to do anything with your hair with only one hand? Just putting it up would be sooo hard, not to mention trying to braid it. Or putting on your armor if you're a warrior... or tying shoes! What if you have an itch on your right arm!? I guess you could rub it against your face, but you'll never have that nail satisfaction!
*sets down 2000 words of more Zevellan here*
It's related because they talk about Solas.

And that's an interesting thought about Flemeth manipulating Morrigan. It made me sad when she called out after her ![]()
I have a wisdom tooth coming in! It's been giving me headaches, but other than that it's coming in normally so there is zero fluffing way I'm getting it removed. That shite hurts.

For mine, it will be quite the process, and hit her hard. She's so used to daggers, since that's what she has used since she began training as a child. Whatever winds up happening (I personally don't like the idea of a 'dagger prosthetic' because it's not exactly...safe waving that thing around and changing on a battlefield isn't easy unless we're getting into technology territory). So I honestly don't know yet what to do for her, but I do expect there will be more feels and angst writing on my part as I write through the frustration and recovery of someone who suddenly feels super vulnerable and off-balance. With so much to do on top of it all. ![]()

Having wisdom teeth removed isn't too bad. Just puts you off your feet for a few days.
But I guess if they're not causing a problem, yeah, the pain isn't really worth it I guess.

Mythal completely taking over Morrigan would be really sad. I hope it doesn't go that way. And Morrigan changing her opinion about Flemeth doesn't necessarily mean she would be completely open to taking Mythal. When she learns the truth about the Well, she's glad the Inquisitor took it instead, when that happens. She values her freedom, and while she might be willing to take power and knowledge at a price, I don't see her being willing to lose herself without good reason. The only time she's offered herself up was when she thought Flemeth was taking Kieran away.
And hope you're feeling okay. I lost all mine and any wisdom they might have contained years ago. ![]()
