You know, i've always wondered what Morrigan would've thought of Solas being another 'Elven god'.. Possibly not surprised, given that her own mother is Mythal, but i do wonder though..
This interests me, actually, a lot. They sniped at each other so much during What Pride Had Wrought, so the realisation of their true identities could be rather comic, to say the least. I imagine Solas rolling his eyes and being like 'wait THAT'S the next vessel for Mythal? ugh. why.' and Morrigan being compeltely embarassed about how she professed herself as the fountain of knowledge of all things ancient and arcane to Fen'Harel, who (understandably) had little patience for her ****. I'd love to see a begrudging working relationship between the two when they realise they're on the same side with the same goals.
I'm fic writing when I should be work writing. But I am slowly writing something kind of ...not angst-ridden and on the fluffier side? It is taking longer but it's coming along.
If you don't mind if I ask, what kind of writing do you do for work?
Can you imagine trying to do anything with your hair with only one hand? Just putting it up would be sooo hard, not to mention trying to braid it. Or putting on your armor if you're a warrior... or tying shoes! What if you have an itch on your right arm!? I guess you could rub it against your face, but you'll never have that nail satisfaction!
Plenty of people lack a limb - whether they lost it in later life, or whether they were born without it - and go on to have very fulfilling, very satisfying lives where they accomplish their dreams and goals. A physical disability isn't necessarily a death sentence, it's not a signal that your life is going to be miserable, it simply means you struggle with some aspects of living more than able-bodied people, but part of that is because most of this world is designed with able-bodied people in mind. As with all things, people adapt. Disabled people are neither objects of pity nor inspiration - they are simply people.
Not that I was necessarily accusing you of thinking of such - just a couple of posts you've made already have indicated you seem to believe it's a real crying shame that the Inquisitor is disabled, so I thought I'd get on my soapbox just in case
. So, yeah, it's a massive change which takes a lot to get over and adapt to, particularly if you were able-bodied before, but I kind of want to make a point of saying that it's not necessarily all bad, people will adapt, things will get better with proper support.
I also want to reiterate the point that this is a fantasy series where people make magic crackle from their fingertips. I believe - with the proper resources and care, of course - that people could come up with good prosthetics or work-arounds in the Dragon Age universe.
I will add that I really like Frank's thoughts on how the left arm could be a really intriguing gameplay dynamic - you have a selection of different prosthetics which do a variety of things (swiss army arm anyone?) that can sometimes be broken, worn out, or rendered useless in particular fights. These could provide some really intriguing gameplay and I hope BioWare think on this more - a disabled protag could be great fun to play simply for the variety.
I genuinely wouldn't be surprised if opposing Solas at any cost in DA4 will result in him turning into an actual pride demon at the final battle. Given the revelations about spirits & elves being much closer than they once were, I think it's quite possible that the allusions to pride demons - in Solas' name, in the six-eyed depictions of the Dread Wolf - turn out to be literal, rather than just a symbolic discussion about Solas' struggle with his own pride, his greatest asset and his greatest flaw. After all, I think 'opposing Solas at any cost' will likely push both the Inquisitior and Solas down quite a dark path, a race to the bottom as such, so the idea of him being 'corrupted' into a pride demon isn't exactly far fetched.
I agree with your doubt it's super super unlikely. I think you're right.
BUT I WILL HOPE
