You know, i've always wondered what Morrigan would've thought of Solas being another 'Elven god'.. Possibly not surprised, given that her own mother is Mythal, but i do wonder though..

This interests me, actually, a lot. They sniped at each other so much during What Pride Had Wrought, so the realisation of their true identities could be rather comic, to say the least. I imagine Solas rolling his eyes and being like 'wait THAT'S the next vessel for Mythal? ugh. why.' and Morrigan being compeltely embarassed about how she professed herself as the fountain of knowledge of all things ancient and arcane to Fen'Harel, who (understandably) had little patience for her ****. I'd love to see a begrudging working relationship between the two when they realise they're on the same side with the same goals.

I'm fic writing when I should be work writing. But I am slowly writing something kind of ...not angst-ridden and on the fluffier side? It is taking longer but it's coming along.

If you don't mind if I ask, what kind of writing do you do for work?

Can you imagine trying to do anything with your hair with only one hand? Just putting it up would be sooo hard, not to mention trying to braid it. Or putting on your armor if you're a warrior... or tying shoes! What if you have an itch on your right arm!? I guess you could rub it against your face, but you'll never have that nail satisfaction!

Plenty of people lack a limb - whether they lost it in later life, or whether they were born without it - and go on to have very fulfilling, very satisfying lives where they accomplish their dreams and goals. A physical disability isn't necessarily a death sentence, it's not a signal that your life is going to be miserable, it simply means you struggle with some aspects of living more than able-bodied people, but part of that is because most of this world is designed with able-bodied people in mind. As with all things, people adapt. Disabled people are neither objects of pity nor inspiration - they are simply people.

Not that I was necessarily accusing you of thinking of such - just a couple of posts you've made already have indicated you seem to believe it's a real crying shame that the Inquisitor is disabled, so I thought I'd get on my soapbox just in case :P . So, yeah, it's a massive change which takes a lot to get over and adapt to, particularly if you were able-bodied before, but I kind of want to make a point of saying that it's not necessarily all bad, people will adapt, things will get better with proper support.

I also want to reiterate the point that this is a fantasy series where people make magic crackle from their fingertips. I believe - with the proper resources and care, of course - that people could come up with good prosthetics or work-arounds in the Dragon Age universe.

I will add that I really like Frank's thoughts on how the left arm could be a really intriguing gameplay dynamic - you have a selection of different prosthetics which do a variety of things (swiss army arm anyone?) that can sometimes be broken, worn out, or rendered useless in particular fights. These could provide some really intriguing gameplay and I hope BioWare think on this more - a disabled protag could be great fun to play simply for the variety.

I genuinely wouldn't be surprised if opposing Solas at any cost in DA4 will result in him turning into an actual pride demon at the final battle. Given the revelations about spirits & elves being much closer than they once were, I think it's quite possible that the allusions to pride demons - in Solas' name, in the six-eyed depictions of the Dread Wolf - turn out to be literal, rather than just a symbolic discussion about Solas' struggle with his own pride, his greatest asset and his greatest flaw. After all, I think 'opposing Solas at any cost' will likely push both the Inquisitior and Solas down quite a dark path, a race to the bottom as such, so the idea of him being 'corrupted' into a pride demon isn't exactly far fetched.

I agree with your doubt it's super super unlikely. I think you're right.

BUT I WILL HOPE

Solas: And who will apologize to our people as the last of them become like you?

Felassan: Maybe what I'm trying to show you - if you'd bother to listen - is that it's time to let go, Solas.

The other day, I was drawing a pride demon for... reasons... and I noticed something interesting about their hands.

tumblr_nuh2j7SnLe1r5f630o5_1280.jpg

And shhhhhhhhh I know the sentinels also have that glove plate thing, but I still love that little detail. There are other aspects of his costume that might be subtle nods. The loose, pelt-y torso gives him that same top-heavy triangular shape, and the tight leggings make his legs smaller by comparison. The claw toes on his shoes could also be a nod to pride demons, in addition to being a wolf reference.

You will survive this day, Inquisitor, and though I owed you an explanation, I will not give you tools to use against me.

*sets down 2000 words of more Zevellan here*

It's related because they talk about Solas.

*slowly goes to sit in the corner*

"Zevellan" sounds like a fancy steampunk zeppelin.  Maybe with lightning cannons.  Because that's cool, and Zev is awesome, and thank you for writing this :)

Yup, the person posted this suspects it's about the titan mural, I tend to agree.

So, to me, it seems like once they did what they did Solas decided to turn against him and started operation-free-all-slaves-stahp-you-stupid-Evanuris, Mythal was still alive at the time... There is also this http://corseque.tumb...30122454682...

"the breaking point for him that turned him against the gods."

So it looks like he did work for/with the evanuris before, instead of rising up as the rebel god from the very start. Guardian wolf is looking more and more likely.

Ok I need help. Do you guys think Solas knew Corypheus was blighted when he approached him? We know Dagna was fooled into believing he was just another Grey Warden mage, and before Trespasser I thought Solas was just taken in by that disguise too. But when Quizzy confronts him about it, he specifically calls Corypheus a Tevinter magister. But did he know he was blighted too? Because if the Blight was such a dangerous thing that it led to him constructing the Veil, why would he chance giving his orb to someone who was blighted?

Sorry, lmao, did I even make sense. I just need to know for fic writing reasons

It's a game-related article but this is my last one at this site for now. Budget cuts and all. But I'm a freelancer in addition to other stuff.

As with all things, people adapt. Disabled people are neither objects of pity nor inspiration - they are simply people.

And I think you got this point across quite well. My mother is disabled. She was diagnosed with MS in her 20s and now she's in her 50s and has gotten worse over time. People have underestimated her for years. She definitely has limitations and needs more assistance now that she gets around mostly with a wheelchair, but she's just...my mother. We have always adjusted as needed. Seeing people first is so important. And people are pretty resilient. :)

In a fantasy universe where anything is pretty much possible, I'm confident they will have creative solutions that will still be fun to play through.

I don't think we can know, his agents are the ones who gave Corypheus the orb. I suppose there is a chance he knew, the blight possibly enhanced Corypheus' powers, I think his orb was given to him because he knew the magisters knew how to use the foci and because Corypheus was strong enough to unlock it.

Anyhow, it seems like the Evanuris unlocked the blight wanting to gain power, that led Fen'Harel to rebel against them and start freeing slaves.

He put up the Veil to deal with Evanuris after Mythal was murdered (I suppose because, as strong as he used to be, he was one and they were 7), it wasn't to counter the blight, for all we know the Veil could've made the whole situation worse.

Is there a significant dialogue difference if you romance Solas as a given class, in particular a mage.  I'd like to do a Solasmance, but am a bit maged out and was wondering if I lose out on interesting Solasmance-related dialogue as a rogue.

As far as I know, there's only one class-related flirt for the Solasmance, and it happens pretty early, in Haven. He'll admire you differently depending on your class . And he'll comment on Rift Mage and Knight Enchanter specializations, though that isn't really part of the romance. But otherwise, whether you get the Arcane dialogue options as a perk seems to matter more.
