I miss my Amell and her lovely brown eyes.  She was always in warm colors; brown eyes, auburn hair, lighting fools on fire :P

Some here! *high fives*

But yes, Solas has blue-grey eyes. I once saw someone describe them as stromy-blue, or storm cloud blue and I liked that a lot, so that's how I chose to describe his eyes now.  :)

-HIGH FIVES YOU ALL-

Grey eyes are hard to pin down, colour wise... it's the nature of the eyes. Trust me, I often have to ask people what color they think my eyes are just to double check! They absorb and reflect the colour around them. Solas has grey eyes. But that means he also can portray blue-grey eyes. And green-grey eyes. Grey is a chameleon :)

For other people on the forum with this eye color -- do you find your eyes often take on the color of blue juniper leaves? --> example o.o

Not on topic but i had this dream,it's 6:57 am here now and just woke up so more or less this is what my dream was I called it

"A dream within a dream"

"He returned back to Skyhold,it was empty..he walks into her room, she is there..almost close that he can touch her and tells her

Ir abelas vhenan ..she turns ever so slightly covering his mouth with her hand and asks him with a whisper
where have u been my love..he feels the warmth, love and kindness, she has forgiven him like nothing else matters and then..he gets pulled into something else, his face changes to a sad desperate ..and he hears it like an echo
it was one of his agents telling him "We don't know where she is,we cant find her after she disbanded the inquisition"
Angst and fear of loosing her envelops him and then he sees himself across a distance somewhere watching her but never
being able to get close to her, every time she tries to reach him it's like something else grabs her and then she vanishes into nothing..."
So weird but so beautiful :)

I don't think I've made a character with brown eyes yet ^_^ I have brown eyes and so does the majority of my family so it's just like "eh, see it all the time". I like how much personality different eye colors can bring to a character. Now that I'm thinking about it are Merrill, Fenris, and Aveline the only characters with green eyes? I can't think of anyone else...

While we're on the subject of Anders, I wonder if his decision to destroy the chantry or at least  got the recipe from one of

since their paths would have crossed due to Corypheus. And it's pretty much their MO

I have brown eyes, and I've always found it kinda boring since most people I see have that eye color.  But male Hawke looked nice with brown eyes.

My Cousland has blue eyes, Hawke has brown, and Lavellan has lavender.  I just sort of feel it out in character creation but I'd make more brown-eyed characters if devs would get brown eyes right more often. They're often flat looking.

And I mean, this is Solas we're talking about. This man is terrible at breakups, and I don't mean that he doesn't handle them well. I mean, he fails completely at breaking up, every time he does it. I'm not even sure he comprehends what a breakup is, because every time he "breaks up", he just makes the relationship more serious.

"We shouldn't" turns into a trip to Lavellan's quarters, which becomes "I love you" on literally the second date. Walks away again except now she's vhenan every time they talk to each other. Third date, now it's time for a tingly wyvern pit and throwing his entire millenia-long plan into the wind. At the last moment he remembers himself, breaks up again. Toughs it out for the evanuris-equivalent of, like, a day, calling her "Inquisitor" like a true professional. Exceeeeept now in Trespasser, surprise she's vhenan again, and also "my love". For this date, he saves her life and finally tells her the truth. Two years is goddamn nothing for him, and he couldn't even hold himself together for that long.

So now he's broken up again, and it's super for realsies this time. He's her enemy, he's wearing a fabulous pelt, he told her "I will never forget you" like he truly believes the relationship is totally unsalvageable. So probably the very next time they meet, he's going to leap into her arm, twirl around, then they'll go on a decades-long tour of the Fade and grow old together. Then on his deathbed, he'll whisper "this cannot continue." And she'll say "Suuuuuuure. Sure, vhenan. I know you'll be back the very instant I turn around."

And he will be, because that's how bad Solas is at breakups.

I want to see this.

Genuinely, I could fall into a pair of warm, dark eyes and never come out again. My first boyfriend had them and they were the best <3.

In terms of Solas' opinions of companions, I reckon he wouldn't really get on with many, actually.

In DA:O, many of the 'good' characters are very Andrastian - he'd question Leliana's visions and motivations, he'd find Wynne a bit nauseating and patronising - although his opinion may change when her personal quest triggers, and Alistair... eh, I can imagine something stop-start, he might try and encourage him, before Ali then deflects the compliment/piece of advice with his characteristic humour. He already finds Morrigan too full of herself and that's before she'd softened up by the time of DA:I, so they'd constantly snipe at each other. He'd have nothing to say to Oghren really, and he'd absolutely loathe Sten (although their banter would be beautiful). He'd get on a treat with Loghain if it wasn't for whole sell-elves-to-Tevinter thing - a shame, they could have had some really interesting banter.

That leaves Shale, Zevran, and Dog. Nobody hates Dog, of course (Mabari are bred from wolves, after all). He'd probably have a few nice words for Shale, who is - despite the nonchalant persona - trying to find herself in this world. I reckon his conversations with Zevran would be some of the most interesting - he'd have compassion for Zevran, and it's not like Zevran isn't aware of his elfyness and how that has affected him, but they're complete opposites in approach - Solas is cerebral and lives in dreams, and Zevran is very carnal and lives in the moment. Zevran would likely bat away some of his weirder comments with humour, but not all of them. It'd make an interesting clash.

Solas did not fight a war against immortal mage kings by keeping his hands clean. Solas is perfectly capable of getting his hands dirty. We see this multiple times in the game.

The most obvious example is that he allows Corypheus to get access to his Orb and then allows him to go to Haven to unlock it, knowing full well that the unlocking of his Orb will kill many.

I never understood the lean towards blue eyes and it used to annoy me to no end as a kid. Most people in New Zealand seem to have them, probably because most are of British decent.

Funnily enough the boys in school with dark brown eyes were like a magnet for girls .

I have hazel of the dark green hue. Most of my family has dark brown which supposedly comes from the Prussian side of my family..

Midnight tea! Hope that caught your attention :P. You're Polish right? I hear most people from Poland have blue eyes? Do you know where darker eyes could have come in from? The side of my family with it came to New Zealand in the late 1800s when it was still Prussia, I read they came from Western Prussia but I'm more convinced they were from the Eastern side (they spoke Polish I believe, not German).

Recall that Solas mentioned that he was in a dreaming sleep. However, his agents were running around. There was one sentence in the Masked Empire where Felassan says something to the equivalent of :- "We Elvhen are around, biding our time, waiting for the next time you shemlen mess thing up again." What's more, the core of the Fen'Harel persona is freedom. Fighting for freedom is something his followers would understand and support.

Starting a mage-templar war, a war for mage freedom that will cause chaos amongst the human kingdoms and human establishments...Why wouldn't an Agent of Fen'Harel encourage that ? They have a lot of gain from it.

I don't really understand why Cole is keeping secrets for Solas. As a spirit of compassion, I am sure he does not want the world to be destroyed. Unless... it is indeed true that Solas is right about how his plans are the best of all options.

It is possible that his agent facilitated the war, but at least in Trespasser, Solas doesn't seem to want to cause more violence than what is needed for bringing down the veil. I don't think he would want to bring attention to himself even if he didn't care about the lives of random shemlen.

Yeah, Cole's a little confusing. Right now, when it comes to his relationship/comments about Solas, he comes off to me as a not quite fully thought out method of insight into Solas and a way to let the player know things about him and his feelings that they wouldn't be able to otherwise. On top of being a foreshadowing and vague lore source.

Cole's primary motivation as a compassion spirit is to ease others' pain.  It's not to save lives on a much larger scale.  He keeps secrets for Solas because he knows that telling the secrets to Lavellan will cause both of them great pain, and he doesn't want to do that.  As human or as spirit, Cole doesn't comprehend the idea of both helping someone and hurting them with the same action.

You know, out of all of them I think I'd be most interested to see his relationship with Wynne. She can be a tad patronizing, yes, but so can Solas. She's so pro Circle, but unlike Vivienne, she doesn't despise spirits and that which she does not understand. Wynne is what, 60? And is more accepting of new ideas than Viv XD!

Zevran and Shale would definitely have the funniest banters with Solas... I imagine his relationship with Oghren would be similar to Sera's.

Why do you think he'd have a problem with Leliana? Genuinely curious :)

I never said he wasn't willing to get his hands dirty. He is obviously prepared to kill friends/has killed at least one. I said I don't see him committing an act of terrorism. Completely different.

Random thought. There are a lot of parallels between the legend of Atlantis and DA's Arlathan. Atlantis is thought to be in the sea somewhere. It is possible for physical water to exist in the fade. Arlathan is thought to be locked away somewhere in the fade. What if Arlathan is in an ocean that's inside the fade? Would be cool if we can explore an underwater city that's inside the fade. They will have to build swimming mechanics like those in Guild Wars 2. Anyway, it seems like a cool concept no?

Well, I certainly haven't been shouted that loud at before :D My eyes are still ringing!

Anyway - we have quite a few people with blue eyes, but you can find more of those in Scandinavian countries, AFAIK (we mostly have dirty blue, blue-gray, gray, gray-brown, green-gray, I think). Poland is a very homogeneous country now, but prior to WWII people here were of very diverse ethnic background, so there are quite a lot of different eye colors as well - though because of our geographic location and not as much sun throughout year as other parts of the globe a lot of us are as Caucasian as you can possibly get; with light skins, relatively light eyes and hair (I'm white like a sheet of paper, have mousy blond/brown hair and gray eyes with golden center. A lot of my family members and many people I know are some variation of that.)

The farther South in Europe you go, the more darker tones appear, naturally. It's correlated with exposure to the sun :)

I think I do the same thing as you, just with different colours. Almost all of my characters end up with brown, amber, or hazel eyes. With the exception of my Lavellan, because blue with gold bits suited her colouring best. I've got blue eyes, so... I see that sh!t every day. I'd rather mix it up a little with my characters.

EDIT: Now that I'm looking at my eyes, I've literally just given my Lavellan the same eye colour as me. The exact same.

You have beautiful eyes Garnet! All my loves have brown eyes (well my demon cat has amber) but I find blue and green eyes to be extremely beautiful. My sister recently had a baby and the baby's dad has blue eyes so she was kind of hoping for green or blue eyes, alas, they seem to have settled on murky brown just like her big brother's!
