Honestly everyone talking about how it's ooc or how he should be into other races because he doesn't want to be seen as just an elf just sound like they can't get over not being able to romance him with their planned Inquisitor

You don't need to attack people who wanted to romance him with something other than an elf. And it does sound very out of character, given what we have read from his character profile and writer interview.

They only said he was an open individual who tries to see everything in shades of grey.  That doesn't mean he won't have preferences.  

 

"It's more complicated than that!"  Isn't that his slogan, per Patrick Weekes?  Well that applies to this situation.  He doesn't have to be attracted to all races just because he's open minded.  People are more complicated than that.  

Well, that's fair but still it was not what people expected. That's all about it.

I'm excited! Yay! I always role female elf. I am sad for those who wished to romance him under another race. I'm worried about gender though ( expect since he race gated he is bi) and all we got is Mark saying Mike already confirmed. Which Mike? And where did he confirm it? Obviously people didn't hear Mike confirm anything judging by the responses.

That's a really interesting point.  Maybe he's so turned off by being seen only as an elf that it's biased him a bit against other races.  Maybe he's not quite as open minded as we think he is.  It would also make sense given his reclusive lifestyle too.  I'm intrigued.

 

and he had more intereactions with elves than others races. can be he is more comfortable with people that more or less are familiar to him. It will be quite interesting know why this, still.

Yes, yes, this. I feel for the people who were going for him as something other than an elf. Randomly, the one that's been bopping around my head was, so I lucked out? Unless he's gay, in which case I'll erase her and make someone new.

Vivienne is interesting in her ambition and sounds tough as nails but very image aware in terms of surviving and thriving. The question with her is will Image win out or will the Power of the Inquisition be enough to override what could be race gating?

Happy! I was planning to romance him with an elf anyway, so the race-gating isn't the worst of news for me, at least. Just hope he goes for dudes, or my planned Elfquisitor will need an improptu gender switch.
