My boyfriend's eyes are sort of like this. They're green with a hazel center, so they shift sometimes from looking more hazel but if he wears certain things or in certain light, they look very green.

Yeah I get that with makeup!

That's lovely! My ex had eyes that were grey (almost like Solas' eyes. Heck I see my ex's eyes when I see his too often in the game) but seemed blue in certain light, and green in other light. Mine are a golden brown but depending on the season they look more orange or red. It spooks people sometimes.

Halloween eyes! Are they amber? Lucky you ;).

Since we were talking about differentiating blue and grey, what color are my husband's? Incoming big eye close-up:

Spoiler

I found a photo I took of my own eye too:

Spoiler

Doesn't it seem like the blue colors have these ~ wavy lines and brown has kinda like.. an orange pith texture (for want of a better word ). Like brown seems to have a more flesh like texture to it.

Sorry to be off topic, eyes fascinate me. Have a gif:

I've had this thought also.

Another thought about something Cole says is this.

  • Cole: You don't need to envy me, Solas. You can find happiness in your own way.
  • Solas: I apologize for disturbing you, Cole. I am not a spirit, and sometimes it is hard to remember such simple truths.
  • Cole: They are not gone so long as you remember them.
  • Solas: I know.
  • Cole: But you could let them go.
  • Solas: I know that as well.
  • Cole: You didn't do it to be right. You did it to save them.
  • Inquisitor: Solas, what is Cole talking about?
  • Solas: A mistake. One of many made by a much younger elf who was certain he knew everything.
  • Cole: You weren't wrong, though.
  • Solas: Thank you, Cole.

I question who Cole is talking about here also. I mean......Solas said he locked away the Evanuris to save the elvhen people.....but this sounds like whoever Solas cared about is gone.

I still think he was accidentally involved in Mythal's death, though this is most likely about him creating the Veil and hurting so many.

Hey! I was very coherent!
And he is, he is the devil.
But I wont argue that here since you guys are obviously obsessed with him (like those weirdo women who send love letters to psycho murderers in prison)

He's not the Devil... He's Loki out of any God. OMG! We have a gremlin situation...

We all have opinions on Solas that are good and bad, but please be respectful in a fan thread.

Ugh Orghen? I really didn't care for him, Awakening with him in it sucked. And I'm restating DAO with a male Cousland (A Morrigan romance, but he likes Leliana too. The jealous conversions between the two is so worth it, I can tell you that!)

Aw, I love Oghren! Though I admit Awakening Oghren is a bit of a downgrade

Oh, no, don't mistake me.  Your rant made my afternoon :)

It's cathartic to get all that out of your system.

I still think he was accidentally involved in Mythal's death, though this is most likely about him creating the Veil and hurting so many.

Yes... and if those many that are hurting are still alive somewhere, and will suffer forever or die if Solas doesn't do something? Or the world will unravel itself if he doesn't bring down the Veil, because it weakened the core of its existence and was never meant to be a permanent fixture? If we throw in a few potential conflicts of that nature, how does that change the story? How does that change opinions about him and what he wants to do? Who will happily make the decision to let a whole race of people die to save their own, and in doing so, become exactly what Solas is?

I really want to see the story somewhere between "this has to be done or everything dies" and "eh let's bring back the Elvhen cause why not." Not a straight up Solas is the eventual hero or villain. Give us some conflict and bite with that story.

LOL you could say that. They are pretty large too, so when I'm angry it's a bit unsettling.

That's the thing isn't it? If you look at villains and heroes, both are doing what they think is right or for their people or the sake of saving their own kind. Not all villains, but most have that frame of mind. Even Samson's judgement left me reeling with indecision. Personally I think he knows more than he's told us and he did something else he wants to undo. I suspect that those in pain are not the Evanuris because he would not care about that.

Try hanging around here a few days and see the typical discussion before you start makin' claims like that. :P

Joking aside, any opinion is welcome as long as folks are respectful to the people on the thread. You don't have to like Solas, but you aren't looking so hot yourself if you're being a jerk to the people who do. It's entirely possible to appreciate a well written character even if they are the bad guy. It is not representative of who people are in the real world, yo.

Hardly Loki, a self-absorbed a** like Poseidon or Zeus

Apologies if I specifically offended you for the crazy lady comment, but I take back nothing about Solas

Oh look, a gremlin!

Just for reference, the cute and fluffy version, or the scaly green gansta version? Good either way.

No no no! It's alright! We are all allowed opinions of the characters, we just don't feel it's necessary to insult the person who likes the character you dislike. The person is not the one you debate about, you debate about the character. That's what's fun!

OK.  I've had some time to put on my tinfoil hat and think about the Titans, the Blight, and the war with the Evanuris.  Lore rambles incoming, spoilered for length.

Canon accepted! :D

Seriously, some of those theories feel dead on. The Sha-Brytol are eerily similar to golems. And if the ancient elves were killing Titans then the dwarves poisoning lyrium to use as a stronger weapon against them would make sense.

But what if they didn't just poison some lyrium, what if somehow a Titan got corrupted and now it's bleeding red lyrium? Maybe the Old Gods as dragons are there to make sure it stays asleep. During Inquisition, we learn that dragons are highly resistant to the Blight. And after all the dragons are dead... maybe the corrupted Titan will wake up? That seems bad.

As for Solas, based on all the wolf and dragon statues in the Deep Roads in Trespasser, they were involved in something down there. Also, um Solas has control of all the eluvians now right? Let's hope we flooded the place badly enough that he can't reclaim that giant lyrium well.

I ran over to it after the flood began and it and the coffins were submerged.

You're all Solas romancers right?

Your Inquisitors are like weirdo women who send love letters to psycho murderers.

I can compromise.

Naw. I romanced him once, romanced Cullen once and just romanced Bull recently. I'm trying Blackwall next. Solas is the best based on the main story in my opinion though.

Well, even if the eluvian does work, he'll find himself in a massive swimming pool courtesy of our quizzies and the qunari.  Ancient elf or not, I'm pretty sure he can't breathe underwater.

I'd forgotten about dragons being resistant to Blight corruption.  That's gotta figure in somehow.  But if the Old Gods are supposed to keep a corrupted Titan at bay, they're not doing a great job?  It's not a very good safety mechanism if your guardians periodically get corrupted, go nuts, lead a darkspawn host, and wind up spreading the Blight even further to the surface.  Though I suppose the alternative would be even worse, having an active corrupted Titan doing Maker knows what.

You know......I was wondering.....

.....what if the dragon Old Gods were Mythal's children. Being dragons and all.

I mean that just adds a whole knew level of vengeance.

A note ot add to this, Mythal knew how to fight Andruil while she possessed armor of the void, which I know a lot of people guess is red lyrium armor.

So, would that mean Mythal was resistant to the Blight?

Thus, dragon children resistant as well?

Your rant was amusing, I'll give you that. :D But no, we have plenty of people that come by who don't like him, or were just friends with him. We really do welcome all opinions. Solas is not exactly the opposite of "polarizing." It's nice to get other viewpoints, but we're used to theorycrafting and discussion and debate 'round here. Not flinging of feces and pi*sy pouting. Step up the game!

*imagines Solas opening the eluvian and being swept away by a giant mass of water*

BWAAAAHAHA~!

But on more serious note:

a.) I assume he can do more with his magic ancient powers now. He may not be able to breathe underwater (um, who knows though?), but perhaps he can freeze the surrounding water and create a tunnel (a giant water slide, wheee!)

b.) considering that whatever Solas (possibly? If we assume that he's left the mural and the rune we can find there) tried to bury there is still alive, maybe Inky destroying the mine and flooding it is exactly what he wanted to do to...
