Finger-less mitts. I knit them real quick, if you pay for shipping from Middle East :D

Anyhooo.

My Lavellan would probably be Hope.

I... mhmm. Empathy, perhaps.

I tend to put myself painfully in the shoes of all, if I can. Give me enough time and I can put myself in the shoes of Saddam Hussein and tell you his twisted way of good intentions gone bad. When I was younger, my intended field of study was Psychopathology. Fascinating subject. Shamefully, only one university taught that in my country, accepting 20 students per 3 years. Not a chance... but the interest yet lingers. Many books at home on the subject... Psychopaths are... fascinating. For the lack of a better English word. (Seriously, my English deteriorated so much in the past few years.)

I'm awful like that.

Haha, thanks for the offer, but we're an ocean away and I doubt the shipping is cheap.

I give props to anyone who's multilingual! I've been attempting to learn Spanish, sadly it's proving to be a lot more difficult for me to pick up than I imagined.

Yeah, something like that....but an ancient DA elf......

it would be pretty hot.

*considers statement*

I can't be normal. Those thoughts aren't normal.

Probably not! But who likes normal? Normal is boring, you're interesting!  :D

Like Cee I'd be Compassion.

My canon Lavellan, a spirit that embodied peace.. whatever that would be, it's early and I overslept so brain fuzz.

Edit: Maybe she'd be Hope.. or maybe I would?

Also have you noticed that on many nights after about 2 am it's like a writer party in here :D Which I absolutely love, of course.

Did any of you writers apply for the assistant writing thing? I see it's taken down now... o.o

As amazing as I think it could be working on something like the DA series for real, I am no where near qualified for that stuff.

I do live in Canada though. Maybe someday. Somewhere over a rainbow.

Hm, Alleyana would probably be Rage. Very cold, though, simmering. Wrath? Vengeance? Something along those lines. I went into it a little with Burning.

Edit: Then again, being protective is probably even more of a defining characteristic of Alley. She's a guard dog. What spirit would match that, I wonder?

As for me, I... don't know. I'm too sick to know what's actually under it all, anymore. Perseverance, perhaps, for enduring it.

I think Danan would be a spirit of justice, if she had to embody just one ideal.

I'd probably swing closer to compassion, I guess.

Mmmm......first I'll say that I also find a lot of merit to that theory. I think it's how things went down and ultimately each Evanuris was a spirit aspect that became corrupted so to speak. Something like....

Solas- Wisdom turned to Pride

Mythal- Justice turned to Revenge

Elgar'nan- Vengeance turned to Rage

Falon'Din- Purpose turned to Desire

Dirthamen- Knowledgeable turned Secretive

Andruil must have been something like Survival turned Hunger/Greed

The others are a bit tricky but I think June, who as many may guess by now is my personal fav, was Clever/Crafty turned to something like Madness/Insanity. (I want to see that. And if BioWare ever manages to show us a demon of Insanity, I bet they'll make it retardly hot.)

My Lavellan and I, no real clue. I'd have to ponder over it for a while.

They might not be corrupt, but rather since they are physical beings created from spirits they exist in a sort of constant flux where their nature will be determined by whatever the dominant influence on them is. See Mythal's being able to calm Elgar'nan's rages, and mediate between Elgar'nan and Falon'Din to avoid a war. A thoughtful, kind, intelligent Quizzy has the option to try to appeal to Solas' Wisdom aspect, whereas a violent, thuggish, inconsiderate Quizzy only really gets to see his Pride aspect.

Here are some spirit aspects I came up with for some of the other gods-

June = spirit of Diligence/Craftsmanship to Stagnation/Sloth

Ghilan'nain =  spirit of Innovation/Invention to Envy

Sylaise = spirit of Domesticity/Cooperation to Rivalry/Greed

Andruil = spirit of Sacrifice to Greed/Avarice

Dirthamen = spirit of Preservation/Trust to Doubt/Betrayal

Oh, where at in the middle east if you don't mind sharing? I'm in the middle east as well. American expat in Abu Dhabi. Love to knit too but haven't gotten beyond flat knitting. Just got my knitting supplies shipped over actually. Really missed them this past year!

My cannon Lavellan would probably be a spirit of mercy. She did not execute anyone and brought most prisoners into the inquisition so that they could work for good. She saved Blackwall and sent him to the grey wardens so that he could atone with them. She shows mercy to Fairbanks' plight and doesn't reveal his secret. She also doesn't kill dragons unless they are threatening people. And, of course, she plans to redeem Solas.

I could see Sylvaise being Compassion--->Envy, quite easily, just going off of her mythical deeds plus her Song. :)

A bit neighboury, I live in Kuwait, sixth year now... lived in Britain before, and originate from Central Europe... I should be at least trilingual but it doesn't settle that well anymore... especially since all around me use English as standart mean of communication :D

Knitting not flat is easier than it appears, give it a go ;)

Yeah, everyone uses english here as well. Thought about enrolling in some arabic classes just because but, man, they are expensive here! And, there's the issue that most classes only teach standard arabic and not the local dialects which would be gulf arabic where I'm at. My understanding is that if I went around talking in standard arabic, I'd sound like an english speaker talking in middle english to most people. I'd be understood as they know standard arabic since they use it for writing and reading the Koran but I'd sound weird.

I'd like to try knitting socks. That might be my next project. :)

Agreed. I like the character because he's interesting, but atm, I'm in the mood to kill him. (Still don't hate him though). I don't think most others hate his character as far as his concept, just in roleplay. Lots of people actively roleplay on this forum.

They're angry because they feel betrayed and dislike that their characters had to have the wool pulled over their eyes on all of this. Understandable, especially when you're not one of the fans that wanted to bang him ;)

I sort of get some of the hate, a small part of me really wants to smack him in the jaw. From a non-romance standpoint, if you liked Solas because of his uncompromising moral compass (which I did), Trespasser is a big let down. From a romance standpoint, leaving someone for two years without much of a reason and then returning to say 'I still love you' is a TERRIBLE thing to do - at least have the decency to let her move on, dude. I'll probably make at least one Inquisitor which hates the guy and will simply kill him, because I want to see exactly how terrible he can be. I tend to be a massive fan of complex villains and characters with multiple layers, but they still inspire some loathing, I think it's part of the appeal. I like them because they can inspire a strong emotional reaction in me, I like them because their multi-faceted nature means they can often prove that feeling both wrong and right.

I think some of the more unjustified (in my opinion) dislike comes from people wanting their characters to be invulnerable, infallible superheroes - which they aren't, and never were - meaning Solas gets flak for outplaying the Inquisition and presenting them as slightly incompetent. It's PC centred morality. You'd happily betray and ally for your own gains but if it happens to you - OUTRAGE.

What I don't like at all is people hating fans for liking Solas. That's not cool.

TOP! have some 'vhenan, plz' Solas.

So, just chilling this morning doing crochet and listening to some pretty guitar music and this one in particular hit me in the feels.

So, thought I would play it here in the blanket fort.

It also brought back all my FFX feels from way back in the day.

Sorry to interrupt the sharing of fiction, but I have a question for you!

So that "Solas was literally a Pride demon spirit who became a meatbag for Mythal" theory is really popular.

And as much as I'm usually like "meeeeeh, I'll wait to play the game and see" I actually think this one has a lot of merit and would pose this question.

If you were originally a spirit, but decided becoming a human would be cool, what spirit were you?

I'm calling obnoxiousness curiosity for me!

I wanted to see what the fleshy world was all about!

Oh, and your Lavellan too (or canon Inquisitor!)

I'm calling probably curiosity too or naivety (I'm so mean to her) a spirit of vigilance or something else equally bad*ss sounding!

Sidenote: My fingers are really cold. Stupid computers in basement.

Definitely sloth.  :D

Sifting through playthrough screenshots... lots of Solas... hmmm.... some Cass and Sera.... hmmmmhmhm.... I seem to have only very bad screens of her. Nonetheless, here, 3 selfies. :D

I maintain an "elvhen" profile on her (that nose.), and took the Vallaslin off as the opposition to slavery and not freewillness. After drinking from the Well. Sacrifice for her People, of course. ;)

*takes a stroll through the BSN forums*

*walks back into blanket fort*

Well, that was a waste of my time.

And seriously, as much as people hate Solas, we may need to establish security check points here. It's kinda wild out there.

The greater BSN appears to be filled with the following:

Players: We want consequences for our actions!

Bioware: Okay. *makes Leliana's development dependent on various dialogue checks, gives you consequences for Bull's quest, gives consequences for destroying elven graves*

Player: Stop giving us consequences.  We hate them.

She's so awesome and possibly a sociopath too one of my all time favorite female anime characters! My brother-in-law prefers FMA over FMA: Broterhood and I was arguing about that with him and he said,

"You just like it more because of the female general."

...

Not true, but he caught me off guard because that was going to be my first argument for FMA: Brotherhood!

I loaaaaaaatthhhhhe Anders, I hated Howe, dislike Loghain, wanted to put Harrowmont and Bhelen in a dark hole in the Deep Roads and never let them out, I wanted to violently bash sense into Orsino's skull with a crowbar, and I still wish I had the chance to lock Elthina in a room with no one but Isolde for company for the next couple decades.

Characters give me a multitude of feelings  :P

Tell your brother-in-law that a random on the internet agrees with you.  Manga>FMAB>FMA.

Oh, and subbed>dubbed.

I have a thing about Ed's English VA.  And that thing is that I cannot stand the sound of his voice.

Hello Solas thread! Lurker here! I was going to keep my  status, but you summoned me out of shadows with that FMA talk. Best manga ever *shamelessly admits to never watching anime versions*

But to thread's topic. I admit, my first reaction while playing Trespasser was *sees option "I'm the one to kill Solas", picks it*, but I redid this part after I calmed down. I know there are different reactions to his Trespasser appearance. Personally, I find him even more interesting now (not like he wasn't interesting before).

Also, I'm on my way to sacrifice Lavellan to Dread Wolf... ekhm... I mean, romane Solas. Not my first Solasmancer, but first one to play thru DLCs (unfortunately I lost my previous Solasmancer). Either way... My Faye Lavellan:

So, once again. Hello Solas thread! Lurker here! I'll most likely never be able to keep up with your posting speed, but I'll try to post from time to time (key word, try).

Now I'm thinking about how pretty that scene was and when we get a scene with water, it's a wyvern swamp and a breakup. :P

Though in my case there was that vallaslin removal scene. That was the glowy.
