So, I'm curious about who everyone romanced in other bioware games and out of all of those romances who is your favorite:

Going all the way back to old BioWare :D

BG: A zillion modded romances, since Anomen is supremely obnoxious.  Primarily Solaufein.
NWN (Original Campaign): Tried both Aribeth and Aarin Gend's romances.  Didn't finish either--too messed up :P
NWN: Hordes of the Underdark: Valen Shadowbreath <3
KOTOR: Bastila and Carth.  Carth I really didn't like, but Bastila's was sweet.
Jade Empire: Sky

DA:O: Alistair/Amell, Zev/Tabris
DA2: Anders/F!Hawke, Izzy/M!Hawke
DAI: Solas/Lavellan, Dorian/Adaar

ME: Space Raptor Husbando <3

And it's no secret by now that Garrus is my favorite.  I love me some drama, but Garrus and Shep are so stable and comfortable and supportive of each other.  It's one of the few game romances that feels like it would actually work IRL.

I love Kaidan. Even though a lot of people don't or have reasonable complaints about the writing for story purposes, I really do. He's grounded, he's compassionate, he's a really good soldier, he's also not afraid to speak up and call Shepard out if he feels very strongly about his principles. Lots of people call him boring but I love having this very down to earth guy around in this sea of alien badassery and extremes.

I didn't like Kaidan at first, but he really grew on me over the series.  Doesn't hurt that the graphics engine gave him a serious hotness upgrade by ME3 either :D

Okay... here's an interesting thing that I've just found out about - a piece of dialogue I've never heard before between Morrigan and Solas in Temple Of Mythal.

Morrigan: And interesting inscription: “Submit to law unyielding.”
Inquisitor: “Law unyielding”?
Morrigan: Perhaps this is some manner of courtroom? I cannot say
Morrigan: The ancient elves considered Mythal a god of justice.
Solas: To call it “justice” is simplistic. Mythal was properly invoked by those seeking vengeance.
Morrigan: Oh? Are they truly so different?
Solas: To those who followed her, yes.

:o  Where did you find this? I've never heard it before. Was it an early version that was taken out of the game?

For me, KOTOR, Carth and Bastila

Jade Empire: Silk Fox - who wouldn't want a clever princess in disguise as an assassin?

Just finished catching up! Was out the whole day, watched a movie, and saw a guy at the cinemas who reminded me of Solas. (Bald, blue-grey eyes, same build, pretty handsome etc.) Probably the closest thing to a modern AU Solas I feel. The only thing missing was elf ears. :P (Of course, I was very tempted to take a photo of him like some creeper but refrained from doing that. xD)

Taking pics of the sliders are the only way to share them, unfortunately.

So, I'm curious about who everyone romanced in other bioware games and out of all of those romances who is your favorite:

DA: Alistair

DA2: Anders

DAI: Solas and Cullen

ME: Kaidan

ME2: nobody/Jacob (So, in my defense my first BW game was ME2. I was new to the whole romance thing and Jacob was the only one I found attractive. Anyway, despite how creepy femshep sounded when she talked to him and how awful their sex scene was, Shep persevered. And, was dumped in the next game, lol. But she didn't care as she was going to dump him for Kaidan anyway. In all subsequent playthroughs of ME2 Shep remained single and pined for Kaidan. )

ME3: Kaidan

My favorites are Alistair, Kaidan and Solas. But, Solas is taking the lead as all the drama is giving the feels. We'll see how DA4 goes!

Oooh! Romance talk! <3

DAO: Alistair with Mahariel (canon) but she also romanced Zevran; Leliana wiith m!Cousland (second PT) but he also romanced Morrigan. I was trying to get achievements. xD

DA2: Anders friendmance with f!Hawke mage (canon); Merrill friendmance (I think) with m!Hawke  warrior (second PT).

DAI: Solas with Lavellan (canon); Cassandra with Trevelyan (second PT)

ME1: Kaidan

ME2: No one. Stayed loyal to Kaidan

ME3: Kaidan

My favorites so far are Alistair and Solas for the DA series. Alistair used to be my absolute favorite romance and I'd never thought I'd love anyone more than him. Then Solas came along and bumped Alistair to #2. Yes, Solas' romance caused pain and heartbreak but the drama in the romance is just so compelling and makes me really root for the romance to end in a not-so-bad note. Hopefully. Please.

As for ME, well, it's Kaidan. I just really like him, okay?

I've found it circulating on tumblr - I've dug more to search if it's something legit and then I've found the audio; and the audio itself sounds totally legit.

I have no idea if it's from early version of the game or perhaps people managed to never find a proper trigger (perhaps trigger itself is bugged?), but what they discuss doesn't sound like something they'd cut, at least from perspective of accuracy to the established lore....?

I have no idea what it is about that man's voice, but best I can describe the way I feel is he's the reverse Garth David-Lloyd to me.  I can listen to that man say anything whereas I don't want to hear Vic Mignogna say anything at all.  But it's just me.  Doesn't help that Ed is the first character to speak in the 2003 anime (which I saw first and later found out that the parts of it I had loved all came from the manga and the parts I hated were original to the anime) so the first voice I ever heard in FMA was Romi Paku's.

I cannot picture Tamaki with Vic's voice at all.

I get the feeling I'm the black sheep of the SolasTherad!FMA fandom. I love Vic's voice and can't really watch the subbed version of FMA or Brotherhood because Ed's voice is different. I also love Aaron Dismuke, and I suspect I had a really hard time adjusting to Brotherhood, because they have a different VA for Al.

Also, I think Solas has really beautiful eyes.

I changed it back from subbed over to subbed myself. I like Vic as Ed. Might be because I watched the original dubbed at the time with others, which is possible.

Needless to say, please share if you find out more about it! Yes, sounds legit to me, but I wonder if it's from the early versions, because of how they say that Solas' character underwent some revision and was much more prone to lying and deceit at first. So I wonder if that during that time his feelings for Mythal also changed to become more complicated, and they used to be more on the negative side. (Though the lore of what actually happened between them is probably set in stone and changed very little.) He sounds liek he's using his angry/yell-y voice in there.

People did mine out some audio files that were cut too.

I nearly typed "mime out" there, and miming out audio files would be a sight.

I really don't like his voice.

My critera for watching a dubbed anime:

Is it set in Japan? - Yes: Watch it subbed.

                               No: Go to question 2.

Is Vic Minonsbreath in it? - Yes: Watch it subbed

                                           No: Go to question 3

Did you make sure he's not in it as a one off character in one episode? - Yes: Good to go.  Watch it dubbed.

No: Check, then.  Watch that single episode subbed.

This piece of dialogue reminds me of strangeness that has been happening in my game since last patch. It's about that part between entering Hinterlands and leaving to Val Royeaux. I tend to explore a bit before meeting with Mother Giselle and after that, before I go back to Haven.

So since last patch... I've been getting random, totally not heard before lines. From Solas no less. Those are definitely worse quality than audio we have, which suggests some early versions of banter/comments. First time it happened it was during my dwarf game. Solas spoke clearly to Cassandra (there's only one Seeker, duh) that they should go to Val Royeaux as soon as possible. I thought that it was strange glitch and moved on. Nothing like that as I proceeded. Ok. I started new game... and it happened again. Twice. The same line that I got in dwarf game and the new one, something along the lines: "We must have done enough to draw attention of Grand Clerics. Shouldn't we meet with them?".

I wonder... anyone else experiencing it? Or Solas is more talkative only in my game?

Edit: Oh, ToP. Well, here. Have Solas with dwarf mentioned above.

Spoiler

Well, at least we agree that geographic setting matters. I would watch the sub, unless the anime is set somewhere in the West or it's set in many countries or an AU, but it makes sense for the characters to be speaking English. Also sometimes the dub is just too great.

Animes that I absolutely must watch dubbed because of the quality of the dub:

Black lagoon - it's one of my favorite, I adore Revy, and I can't imagine her with any other voice than Marÿke Hendrikse.

Death note - Light and L  <3  <3  <3  Their rivalmance would just not be the same dubbed :P

This eternal battle of adorable headbutts shall endure, I suppose. :P

I tend to watch more subbed than dubbed anime, but occasionally, and depending on the actors, I'll change. I usually start subbed though.

Ah.. Gareth David-Lloyd. I would happily listen to an entire audio phone book if he recorded such a thing.  :P

Yeah. I don't like Tamaki with Vic's voice. It just doesn't suit him at all, imo. Generally, I prefer subs over dubs anyway.

I've heard great things of Black Lagoon's dub.  But I've only ever seen bits of the show subbed.  I liked what I saw, though.  One of those things I've always meant to watch more of.

Studio Ghibli's dubs tend to be pretty good.  Howl's Moving Castle is something I can only watch the dub of because everyone sounds just like I thought they would (except for Howl.  He should be more Welsh).

I'm giving JE another go.  There's workarounds on the steam forum for people with this issue.  It's just kind of complicated.
