I am not mad...A little bummed that my Qunari mage idea has to be tossed, but not mad.

You do realize the Wiki isn't actually official and can be updated by basically any fan, right?

All I know is when people assumed Iron Bull prematurely and posted him to the wiki before it was "official" Bioware pulled it down right quick.

Good grief I thought everybody in here would be dancing for joy?  I guess I can understand in a way I am a bit disapointed my female human will not be able to have Solas but I can live with that.

Guys if Solas is actually an ancient elf who has awakened, maybe that is the lore reason he is elf only. What is the lore on ancient elves having the tattoos? Does it go back that far or is it recent?

It's going to take me a bit to accept this, I think. Though it does make me interested in his story reasons. Perhaps Solas is more of  a hypocrite than we thought? I'd love if he had a big flaw like that. The open-minded character who can be closed-minded when it comes to some things.

 

Why Solas preferring Elves makes him an hypocrite?

 

All Elven interspecies relationship always create non Elven children. I can understand someone wanting his children to be a part of his race/culture, without this person being an hypocrite. And even if the race gate is not "child related", In real world, you can surely be open minded without being pan sexual   Maybe we fans hoped too much from the "open mindedness" described by the devs.

 

Of course, I am happy so see Solas confirmed, and yet, sorry for all my future non Elven Quizzys. But at least, we get the chance to romance Solas (the poor Varricmancers would sure have loved a Varric romance, even race gated to say, dwarves only).

 

Let's wait for more info, but at least, I'm happy he is a romance option.

We already know that we'll deal with some shady dalish (???) elves and ancient elven ruins so it's quite possible he can be romanced only by elves due to their unique connection to these specific quest lines

True! I'm a little sad and a little worried but the important thing is that he's available! And has GDL's voice! And sounds awesome!
 

Now I hope that they finally rip off the bandaid for everyone in the Viv and Blackwall camps.

Ah I didn't mean that not liking non-elves makes him a hypocrite, just that it might suggest that there's more to him than shades of grey. As in it's possible that he's not as grey area as we thought. I actually wasn't intending to connect the two quite as much as I made it sound like I was haha.
