This is a bit off-topic, but has anyone commented on the fact that Bioware really likes to reuse names but with small alterations? I can think of at least three:
Solas - (Mordin) Solus
Tallis (from Mark of the Assasin) - Tali
Orana (from Fenris' quest) - Oriana (Miranda's sister)
I'm sure there are others I can't remember at the moment... Coincidence? What do you guys think?

DAO: Can't remember her name (been 6 years), Dwarf Female - Dual Wield Rogue - Alistair - 28.
DA2: Chase - Human Female, Templar Warrior - Fenris - 23-24*, pro-Templar.
DAI: Eldanehn - Elven Female - Rift Mage - Solas - 26, pro-mage.
DA4: Female, I feel kind of bad that I contentiously ignore an entire gender while playing DA but I'm so used to playing males in every other game that I just can't pass making my canon females... When I can - I play dwarves. My favorite class is rogue (in every game ever made), my first runs in DA is always rogues. I'll always romance the first intelligent dude I can. I say that, but as you can see my canon doesn't always end up being my favorite race/class combo since it evidently depends on how the character feels in the story. Who know, maybe I'll have an archer male Qunari for the next run because it'll feel most canon to me XD.
* I think Hawke had a set age, WoT 2 says Malcolm & Leandra met at 9:05 dragon and that Leandra was pregnant a few months later, so... Hawke was born at 9:06-9:07.
It's funny, I first played DA when I was a teen, but my character ages didn't really... change.
I'm 24 y/o at the moment, I wonder if by the next DA I'll raise the age of my characters or they'll stay 26-27.
"Fun" fact - my Shepard is also called Chase, maybe my DAO dwarf was called Chase. I seriously have no idea why, the main thing I think about that name is how I wanted to name my cat Chase, I'm not sure why it applies to BioWare PCs as well. None of my DAI characters were called Chase, I had Téa, Sharil'El, Eldanehn & Genehsys.

My warden and Hawke were early 20s but my Inquisitor was 29 at the beginning so I guess that put her around 33 for Trespasser.

Nope, not at all, I tend to self insert and I'm 42.

Well, Hawke does have a set age so there's no getting round that. And a lot of the origins indicate that the Warden is fairly young (Surana/Amell are meant to be unsually gifted and taking their Harrowing fairly early, Aeducan has to be younger than Trian but older than Bhelen (allowing them to be the oldest of the origins, I think), Cousland has to be younger than Fergus, Tabris is still considered a child until they're married so they're around late teens to early 20's, and Brosca has to be younger than Rica. Mahariel has the most leeway with their age, but they're mean to be childhood friends with Tamlen, so...)
As for the Inquisitor, I found that having a younger Lavellan suited the story I had planned for her. My Adaar is also pretty young (she's 23/4 too) because romancing Sera would be werid otherwise.

Yes, I think so as well.
Adding to that WoT2 info, I also think it was stated in game how many years passed since Leandra left Kirkwall (and she was pregnant at that time). But I can be mistaken on that.
But it would be strange for me to think Hawke was 24-25 all this time without any mention in game, right?

Just as Illyria said, Warden supposed to be fairly young, while Hawke has set age.
As for DAI... That really depends on character. My canon was 27 as for 9:41 Dragon, but I have characters older than that.

I know that in the final fight Corypheus has some remarks for everyone, but I've never taken Solas. What does he say, and how does Solas respond? Given the truth of the situation, I'm interested to know.

Solas didn't physically hand it to him, in Trespasser he says he allowed him to find it via his agents.

From what I gathered it wasn't Solas who gave Corypheus his orb. It was his agents doing.
Edit: "Not directly. My agents allowed Venatori to claim it." That's what he says.

yea that one mentioning it would be me haha when I saw it I was like: !!! OMG WHY DID I NOT SEE THAT IN THE FIRST PLACE!!
I forgot who it was but when you said that it made me pay close attention to that moment. It's very subtle, but the devs put in about 100 different hints and things that can be interpreted in multiple ways so I'm not surprised if this is another one.

DAI: Atisha Lavellan - Female Elf Rift Mage - Age 22 - Romanced Solas
DA4: Most likely a young female elf mage
That will ensure that the elves aren't killed, but not necessarily the "most effective".
Lets try an exercise. This is for everyone to answer. Now, for your Lavellans, if Solas really was the big bad the rest of the elf haters around BSN think he is, and his plan would destroy everything and everyone... And you could slow his efforts by alerting anyone who bothers to listen to be wary of elven servants because they could be spies... would you? Or would you let him keep his advantage even if it means the world ends?
It's obviously not going to come down to that, and this is a worst case scenario. I'm just interested in seeing if a Lavellan would actually do that. Would be a hard choice, but certainly better than your clans being gone along with the rest of the world. I don't think Dalish care much about city elves anyway.
For my Lavellan, she tried to balance who exactly she would tell. She wouldn't blburt it to a bunch of shem, figuring that it would be useless at best and harmful at worse. As others have said before, either they wouldn't believe her and think her crazy. Or worse, they WOULD believe her, panic, and then go back to what shems do best and kill elves because they are all "agents of the Dread Wolf". She tells Briala, as Briala has her own network of agents, which by then has to have been infiltrated. Briala also has the Empress' ear so would be able to keep an eye on thing. She tells Deshanna, who by now is in Wycome with her clan, so that makes someone to keep an eye on at least some of the Dalish clans in the area (as I'm expecting other clans to have open contact with the Lavellan, if only because it's unheard of to have them implicaed in human politics like this). Of course, all of her circle know, which includes the new viscount of Kirkwall, the Divine and the Seekers' new leader (Varric, Lelliana and Cassandra). She'll tell Fiona (but probably not Vivienne, although perhaps she would. Haven't decided yet). So that's another group of people taken cared of. As of now, she has no one imbedded in Ferelden politics (as she wouldn't tell Anora, not knowing how the Queen would react), but I'm still figuring this out. And finally, of course Dorian would know, which brings us into Tevinter and whatever help they can find there to thwart Solas. After all, Tevinter probably has the most information available about old elvhen magic.
Unfortunately, according to the ending slides, it seems rumors are spreading anyway (as they're wont to do) but with the people who DO know the truth, I'm hoping to keep panic to a minimum. Last thing my Lavellan wants is more chaos and more murdered elves. Fortunately, it does look like Solas isn't wishing violence on Thedas until he's ready to put his plan into action, so Lavellan has some time to figure out what to do next.

Yeah.....I always play a mage anyway, but if the game is in Tevinter then I will have to hard of a time not playing one.
Plus, I wonder if the available mage speccing will be new and interesting based on the fact it's the Imperium and pretty much anything goes there.

I use context, backgrounds, and other elements to create a character outline and age. With Amaya Cousland, she was at an age where she was getting noble courting type options and seemed overall to be pretty young, but not so young as to lack resourcefulness and training. Also, she and Alistair I think would be similar in age.
Hawke is Hawke and as pointed out the game gives you a narrow window there.
For Nirwen, I figured somewhere around 30 or so for DAI because being chosen for this spying assignment, to me, implied some degree of having earned it. So I figured to make her a bit older than my other PCs, give her time as having lived and done things, had experience with humans and others before. Have her well prepared. Then as I always do, I started filling in other parts of her history and life as headcanon.
