I know it's been a few pages now, but I wanted to add to the discussion about where Solas could have gone to sleep since I haven't seen this theory yet. Although I agree with Soundermount as a likely place, my own headcanon has him sleeping in or most probably below Skyhold, in what's left of the old elvhen structure (Skyhold as we see it beind a much younger structure built by humans over older ruins). After all, it's been hinted quite strongly that Skyhold is where Solas raised the veil. The way I see it, he was so exhausted afterward that I don't see him traveling elsewhere to go into uthenera. So, unless his followers then moved him somewhere else, it makes the most sense that he'd have slept in Skyhold proper.

Also, I have been cooking a few thoughts and theory about The Titans, the Song, the Blight and possibly Flemmythal. Will get back to it once I'm a little more awake.

Thanks.  For some reason I couldn't paste the link.  No sign of the Halamshiral retextures, though.  Luckily I still have my files for those.  I may grab that skin texture for my m!Lavellan.  Dorian Greatly Approves.

*Or Cassandra greatly approves* coughs. I will mod my game, (my Lavellen will look like a goddess once I'm done!)

So, I have been hunting for a really epic fantasy series to start reading and was wondering if any folks here had any good suggestions.

I am in need of a new book addiction.

Wheel of Time by Robert Jordan. Takes a while to really get going, but when it does...

Codex Alera, by Jim Butcher. The first book is decent, and every book after is amazing. Also, not your stereotypical fantasy fare.

The Dresden Files, also by Jim Butcher. More modern, but definitely fantasy and definitely an epic. :P

The Mistborn Trilogy, by Brandon Sanderson.

The Stormlight Archives, also by Sanderson. (Unusually, it's a massive cross-over between all of his other epic fantasy books, so I'd advise reading them first.)

"End of yours", "your world must die", etc.

Like his world died.

It could be metaphorical, he said he destroyed the world, but Thedas still exists, dwarves still exist, elves still exist.

I'm 100% certain the Veil will come down in the next game (there are 3 different prophecies foreseeing that and several prominent characters speaking about an upcoming change), I think that the sundering of Veil will not kill everybody because then Thedas will just end.

When he spoke about his previous plan to rip down the Veil via his orb he said that while the world burned in raw chaos, he would've restored the elvhen, I think chaos = spirits, demons, people getting magic, mages growing suddenly stronger, titans awakening, etc.

If having the Fade merge with the unchanging world will cause anybody to die, Solas will stop being grey, it will change him from a compelling antagonist to a full on evil villain. Moreover, (in my eyes) it isn't as interesting if there is nothing to be gained from the removal of the Veil, it takes from the story.

Hmm you are correct :) I also think it will come down BUT I don't think like that people in this world now would die when it coming down but I personally was thinking that bringing the veil down would affect the races now in a way that they would some how go kind of like extinct but I don't really have too many theories yet :D But thank you for sharing :D I think your theory could be very realistic.

Even if not EVERYONE dies, and there are survivors, the amount of chaos the dropping of the veil will create will kill a lot of people. Same as when it came up. I see it this way. The sudden influx of magic is akin to a Tranquil suddenly recovering their link to the Fade on a global level. It can be done but poor Pharamond didn't fare too well because he was unused to his emotions and magic after years as a Tranquil. Now, people with strong will (and mages already used to the mental discipline of studying magic) would survive it, but then you have the panic created by the suddenly merged worlds and appearances of spirits and demons everywhere. True, not literally everyone will die, but civilizations will fall, and chaos and fear will reign for a good long while. As for the survivors of elvhenan still left in uthenera and other pockets (like the Temple of Mythal) there's probably too few of them to do much more than trying to survive the world going mad (possibly staying in places like the Crossroad) while they wait for everything to calm down.

The Solas romance is like being stranded in the middle of the ocean with just a little raft for your safety. And then Weekes comes along on a gigantic cruiser, hands you a paddle and sails away.

And the weird part is that we like it   At least the raft has frilly cakes, fade-tongue and enjoyable side benefits.

Cassandra Greatly, Greatly Approves of the nice Qunari style Skyhold outfit and new face textures her gigantic apostate boyfriend has.

EDIT: I mean 'tall'.

Your a rarity! I can't create a Qunari lady! I fail way too hard. So I made a Sera romancing female Trevelyan. Becuase I can, and it's easy..

Actually Seradaar is probably the most popular Sera pairing due to Sera's preference for tall, horned ladies and due to how much approval she gives for flirting with her as an Adaar.

Also, are you on PC?  Because I can recommend some Qunari mods that make it much easier to make a good looking Qunari.

They might as well go extinct, if the titans awake maybe the dwarves will lose independence (:(), maybe the elves will drive off the humans, maybe the Qunari will become stronger (if they were indeed mutated elves) and take over Tevinter. Cultures will die, that's for certain.

Lots will be killed from the echos of the removal of Veil, chaos will definitely ensue. Who knows what will be left of Thedas after that...

Sandal's prophecy makes me think people will change by Solas' actions, "when he rises, everyone will see", so maybe we can't even try to predict what will happen :P

I kind of hope that Andrastians will think the Maker is returning (because of the Canticle of Exaltations) and will use its' words to survive, it would be kind of awesome in an ironic kind of sense (since they are wrong about the Maker putting up the Veil), or that Solas is just wrong for underestimating Thedosians.

I created only one qunari lady and she was romancing Bull.

I think I did good job... This one time. Even if I tried creating another one, I'm almost sure they would look the same

About 5-10 years ago I read a series called the Shadowleague by Maggie Furey.  I remember enjoying it at the time.  No idea how well they hold up, but could be worth checking out.

If he is speaking literally and people will just die, then we'll have a post-apocalyptic world left in our hands and I don't know if that's the story they want to tell, but that's me assuming things so it's not much of an argument :P

It's true Pharamond didn't fare well, but for first, he was a mage, secondly, he was a tranquil, thirdly we have no idea how he would've acted a few months into regaining his connection to the Fade. Regular Thedosians have emotions and will, and are already connected to the Fade. I don't think it's comparable, especially since we don't know if dropping the Veil has the same affect as a spirit touching the mind of a tranquil.

I have no problems with humans and elves. Give me a sec and I can come up with something new. But dwaves and qunari... There's one face I can come up with and no matter how much I try, they'll all look similarly.

And I may not be a person you quoted, but I would love to see your qunari lady.

Well I have to say this sadly but he does say '' If they must die I would rather they die in comfort ''

so... yes.. also he says for inky '' Live well while time remains '' or '' Drawing you here gave me the chance to save you... at least for now.. ''

Hmmm, darnit.... I think I must have unconciously forgotten those lines to save my poor feels  :pinched:

I will still cling to the frail hope that wolfie is WRONG (because he thinks no silly modern species will survive a global fade tidalwave) and many will actually survive  ^_^

The Warlord Chronicles by Bernard Cornwell is pretty solid, an interesting take on the King Arthur story.

It might not happen in truth. Perhaps Solas, as usual, is underestimating modern Thedosian. But from what he says at the end of Trespasser, I think that's what he expects to happen at the very least. I don't think the fact he says he consider modern people to be as Tranquil is a coincidence as far as foreshadowing goes.

Whatever happens though, change of that magnitude can't happen smoothly. It wouldn't be realistic according to the worldbuilding, and would be damn anticlimatic.
