She stopped Andruil's rampage with the blighted weapons, but that would only give one of the Evanuris reason to hate her.  Helping Solas would give all of them a reason to gang up on her, and Solas an added level of guilt in avenging her.

(because, you know, Solas totally needs to be sadder  <_< )

She got them all to band against Falon'Din, too, so he has reason.

I'm wagering my left arm that Ghil masterminded it in a power grab. She's THE creator, dangnabbit! ;)

I know it is.  I love all the romance banters with Alistair.  Wynne trolls him about it.

Oh yes! Wynne! The only thing that can match Wynne's trolling is talking with Leliana about Alistair's performance outside party camp. With him in party as well  :P

And if Mythal was the Evanuris most opposed to using the Blight as a weapon, then her "betrayal" would make the other gods who were also opposed to it more susceptible to using it. But since Mythal locked it away after that battle with Andruil, they can't access it anymore. But since they already know she and Fen'Harel were working together, perhaps Solas pushes it even more and says he knows where the Blight is and how to access it (though I doubt he really does), and he tells both the Evanuris and the Forgotten Ones that he'll give them the information if they wait for him in their domains, only instead of giving them the Blight he uses this chance to raise the Veil.

Yeah, I'm on board this theory.

And of course Solas totally needs to be sadder. That's the real reason why he made Abelas choose a new name, he wanted that for himself.

Worse, Zev starts giving advice.

I may have to write this.  It's too hilarious not to.

Oh Maker, what have I got myself into?

Bare in mind that if you're all expecting smut you're looking at the wrong writer.  I write fluff and comedy and this will (hopefully) be both.

Yesss! Do it! I am excite!

Nope, fluff is exactly what I'm looking for :)

I loved Wynne in DAO. *sighs* I was disappointed in her in Asunder. She seems to have grown disillusioned and bitter.

I loved Wynne when I first played DA:O in college.  Then hated her when I replayed right before DA:I.  Then kind of liked her again in Asunder?  I have confused feelings about her.

I loved (and still love) Wynne in DAO. I'm in a middle of Asunder, so I'll wait with my judgment till the end (though for now I have mixed feelings about this Wynne)

But good to see some Wynne love. Lately I've seen only Wynne hate.

Wynne disappointed me in Asunder too, though that changes a bit by the end of the book.  I loved her in the game though.

Same for me. I'm about halfway through Asunder. All I can say is Shale FTW!

Honestly, I think my shift in attitude toward Wynne has less to do with the character, and more with me getting older.  I was still in school when I first played DA:O, but now that I'm in a different life stage, her mother-hen behavior toward both the Warden and Alistair really gets under my skin.  Though in her defense, my Amell and Alistair were idiots :P  And she did eventually apologize.

Ah, sorry if you thought I was speaking about you! There were a few threads in a past months were all I saw was pure Wynne hate, without any explanation why, and I was pretty sour about it. Your reason I can understand

I like Wynne, but my Surana doesn't during DAO because she was extremely pro-mage and anti-Circle and anti-Chantry (playing an atheist in DAO is much harder than you'd think).

Also there was the whole thing with Wynne criticising her relationship with Alistair.  She warmed up to her as time went on and considered her a friend by the time she died.

No worries, it's fine :)  She's still an interesting character to me.  I've added her to the (growing) list of DA characters whom I like, but frequently want to punch.

That depends.  How pro-Circle is just your mage?

You think she may have been trying to warn them about Solas?  As of the epilogue to DA:I, she does know that Solas is awake and plotting something with the orb.  She's a smart cookie; she probably worked out his plan before he killed her.

Personally, I don't think Mythal is particularly benevolent; she's clearly got her own agenda, and the way she talks about her betrayal during the dialogue in the Fade makes me very nervous.  But she does see the modern elves as "the People," so maybe the dreams were her way of tipping them off.  A gesture that requires little effort on her part, but helps nudge them in the right direction.

I'm not sure Flemeth was trying to warn the modern elves about Solas, but I do think it's odd that she seems interested in them when Solas is not. Conversely, she apparently didn't care about the ancient elves enough to let Abelas know she was still alive for all those years, but I felt like Solas was trying to recruit them.

I agree with you that Mythal doesn't seem benevolent which worries me too. In fact I'm just going to say this next crazy thing so that it doesn't come true. Please, please let them not be luring the modern elves to some giant blood sacrifice ritual. Solas made noises about not wanting people to suffer before the end, but it's not like guilt has ever stopped him before right?

Which would give the Evanuris more reason to murder her when they find out she's been aiding the slave rebellion, that's also probably been disrupting their war against the Forgotten Ones.

If the Evanuris knew that Solas and Mythal were working together, wouldn't they make sure Solas was otherwise occupied at the time of Mythal's murder?

Do you guys remember the dialog with Solas about the Well of Sorrows where you can tell him you trust your friends, and he replies 'I know that mistake well enough to carve the angles of her face from memory'? I know some folks here take that as a figure of speech, but I've always thought it was a literal person. Maybe one of the Evanuris pretended to be on their side and then made certain Solas couldn't come to Mythal's defense?

She started off very anti-Circle, like yours, and mellowed out a bit over the course of the game.  By DA:I, I'd say she's a liberal Aequitarian.  She supports rights and freedoms for mages, but through reform instead of revolution.  And believes that the Circles are still necessary to educate young mages.

I never tried to play atheist, but with what I recall from DAO, it really must be hard.

Now I totally understand your feelings about Wynne! I have a few characters like that as well.

What Solas said. Before I got my books, I checked DA Wiki for story summary  ^_^
