Dragon Age fans can make both glorious and terrible things.
And sometimes, gloriously terrible!
Hmmm, I'm listening to some of Origins soundtrack again... was anyone else a teensy bit disappointed by the change in tone that the Origins and DA2 vs Inquisition has? I'm not denying Inquisition's soundtrack is awesome, just sooo different (I know different composers).
And why is the Inquisition love song and the Dread Wolf song so similar!? Is it mocking me!?
I feel like I have to bring this infamous fic back into discussion: http://archiveofouro...view_adult=true
Note, I haven't actually read it.

LOL. I haven't read this one, but I once dared a friend to fill a hanar prompt on kmeme, so I really don't have a leg to stand on when it comes to fanfiction. (For non Mass Effect people, hanar are giant jellyfish.)
I put up a big mental divide between canon and everything else, which has gotten me in fandom trouble, but it's good for my sanity. No matter how well written and plausible or dark and insane, everything that is not BioWare is all just fanon.
...
I don't...
...
Who the heck would ask for something like that?
Uh, and yes everyone is entitled to their own preferences and kinks and fantasies, but my goodness. How do people even come up with stuff?
There are just places my mind doesn't go and can't comprehend.
... to each their own though?
Reading the past couple of pages I think I probably spend way too much time on the kmeme, because everything that has been mentioned here seems really, really tame. I saw the riftjob thing when it was on Weekes' twitter and apparently there is fanart to go with that fic. Animated fanart. ![]()
When I first heard the dread wolf song I thought I was going a little crazy but they are very similar. Probbs did it so all of us would cry some more and it's defiantly mocking.
The Inquisition love song is one of the drastic changes I'm iffy about.
Listen to the Origin's love song
And DA2's love song
Now compare that to Inquisition. The tone is so different! Inquisition's is saaaad... actually now that I think about it it might just be sad because I connect it to the Solas break up scene...
*Ponders*
Well they're still very different.

Hey, now. There was at least one lingerie shop run by a Hanar on the Citadel. People usually takes note of "This One's Intimate Apparel" during a tense and combat-heavy situation, but that is beside the point.
...This one laughed her *ss off and could not go back to shooting things for a good ten minutes...

I don't want to know what you think is out of hand then XD!

Wait, they're people?
I assumed they were animals, I've never played ME.
That's... better.

Hmm, they are similar in the sense that it feels like it comes from the same composer, but the mood is very different.

You're probably right about that much. ![]()

loll, I've always thought that the origins love song sounded sooooo awkward when paired with the awkward sex scenes.

But I think the blanket fort is also effective on busy real life too sometimes.
I just realized I absolutely suck IRL. At everything. Major case of impostor syndrome tonight, only I'm right, and I want to cry.

You know what, never mind... I love this thread.

Blasto! ![]()
I also died laughing listening to the "sound clips" from the Blasto movie.
"This one doesn't have time for your solid waste excretions!"
I may need to play through Mass Effect again.

Hmm (I copied), I don't know. I think the differences between Zur's and Morris's style is very obvious.
Don't get me wrong, I think Trevor Morris is exceedingly talented, he does a wonderful job making Inquisition feel epic and huge and important. But Inon Zur made Origins and DA2 feel mystical and layered and unique.
I think the differences are really noticeable in the main theme of each game.
Oh and poor DA2

Haha, well I think that was more the animation with the sex scenes!
I agree origins and DA:2 are very different from inquisition, inquisition seems really down and out it actually brings you down and even more so with solas scenes. It's not because you are connecting it to solas I fell it too.
We're are the happy and loving songs?
Lol. I don't know if I'd say Origins and DA2 had happy and loving songs, but I do think they were more magical! *-*

So... it is a person?

I think you misread my post. I was referring to the two inquisition songs.

My baaaad ![]()
True it's not like they were fighting for there lives so I guess they shouldn't be happy lol but DA:I it's just sounds so sad and like life is over and there is no love left. I think I have actually lost it. Haha
Yeah, I think the Zur's love songs were
"luuuuuuuuv is soooo maaaaagicaaaaal, there is pain and there is triumph but it is maaaaagicaaaaaal and you can find it even in the daaaarkeeeesst places!"
While Morris's was "hahahaha, you know thaaaat I'm gooooonnnnnnaaa riiiip your heaaart oooouuuuut, whaaat you're romaaancing Josephine? Still going toooo despaaaiiiir!"
