Speaking of models changing throughout the games, I really hope that Solas looks exactly the same in DA4. He's perfectttt as he is.
I like the way he looks, but room for improvement. For all we know DA4 could be build on a completely different program. I will leave this for a list of possible improvements.

I would LOVE to watch Cole try to describe an ancient Elvhen vending machine. Almost as fun would be watching Iron Bull punch them, and Sera tilt them over into piles of bog unicorn droppings.
Please Please Please have this is DA4
In DA4 the Elvhen take over Tevinter by turning into coffee vending machines, which causes Starbuckus to go out of business, and the entire Tevinter economy to collapse.
It was Solas' plan all along.

I just realized I absolutely suck IRL. At everything. Major case of impostor syndrome tonight, only I'm right, and I want to cry.
You know what, never mind... I love this thread.
Y'know, the only people I've ever heard say, "Major case of imposter syndrome tonight, only I'm right, and I want to cry," are the ones that are actually good at what they do.
Maybe I'm just saying that to justify my own imposter syndromes, though. ![]()

They are using the same engine so they can upgrade him a bit without drastically changing things.
Didn't know that! I'm glad, the changes between the 3 games were just too drastic for my liking!
No, but I think he worries about Daisy more than Hawke. You worry about the flammable/breakable things in Hawke's vicinity, not Hawke
I'm out of likes, but that Hawke comment was great
and the way Merrill acts I'm sure he has panic attacks thinking about her on her own!
In DA4 each of the hairs on his wolf pelt will be rendered individually. They will also shed realistically, and Abelas will compalin how whenever Solas visits, he always ruins the couch.

Y'all mock, but I love the Dalish no shoes thing! I hate shoes with all my heart and I'd never wear them if I wasn't forced to. I never wore shoes regularly until I had to go to school. To this day I can't bear them. They feel like a prison on my feets. Shoes are like red lyrium!
I love having my feet free! I grew up in a rural area and I never wore shoes outside or in the house. The first thing I do when I get home is take my shoes off! Stupid society's standards and expectations!

Funny fact about Finnish people, we never wear shoes when we are at home.

...Who wears shoes at home? Why would anyone wear shoes at home?
Because your feet get dirty, the floor gets cold, feet stick to floors, shoes leave you with a good grip, any number of reasons ![]()

I'm a cozy sock person when inside.
And I love boots. But no heel business. No, my favorite boots were the ones I wore for dressage competitions when I was younger.

As soon as I hit the door the shoes come off. and if it's winter it's a pair of fuzzy socks.
So I have a bit of a writers dilemma. If you woke up and found yourself in Thedas would you tell anyone you were from another world or keep it a secret? I'm trying to figure out which direction I want to take my character.

Are we talking about indoors? I put slippers on to go out to the garden, but if the floor is so dirty in my house that it makes my feet dirty I have a lot to answer for to myself. ![]()
But I do wear socks. Those really soft, cushy, comfy fuzzy socks in the most outrageous colors and patterns possible. Since I can't see my painted toes in the winter, I figure it's a good stand-in for the usual absurd nail polish colors I use.

I love boots so much, but they have to be sturdy and comfy. After four ankle sprains in recent years (including a probable fracture) my heels days are likely over for good. I try even the comfiest pair I own, and I'm so wobbly.

A character I think, if a stranger to the world, would probably try feeling things out first before admitting such things to anyone. Especially because many might not believe the person or believe it's some sort of delusion.

That is what I am always thinking too, but I guess it depends where you live. In Finland temperature changes from +20°C to -20°C (or more) and then there is all that snow in winter.

It's probably the same for the Dalish as for us. If you aren't accustomed to wearing them as a child you might never. I feel a sense of dislocation from my environment when my soles aren't actually touching the ground. Also, your feet can become accustomed to all kinds of weather. My mother used to walk barefoot in the Arizona desert in the summer with never a problem. It is possible to go barefoot in extreme conditions if you take care. Ancient Irish Fenian tales recount that they had to be able to run and pluck a thorn from their foot without breaking stride. So yeah, it's not implausible, I don't think.
