I went on a media blackout after the enemy of Thedas trailer.
The magnetic draw of Solas' thighs brought me hurtling back, however.
So...
THEY ARE A LI!??!?!!??!!!!!!!!!!
OMFG! ![]()

Because if Solas is elf only and Iron Bull was gated against dwarves then gay male dwarves and straight female dwarves would have only had one LI option before IB was ungated.
Ok, the excitement has definitely won over now, and I can't wait until Bioware has come to a decision about what to do now..

So Cheers everyone! CONGRATS with our wonderful dreamy bald elf, I can't wait to romance this guy and have long walks in the Fade with him. I can't help but think how much more personal the romance is going to be now that it's elf only, every disadvantage has an advantage too! (I think I'll hold on to my major barrage of happy gifs until we get another tweet from Mark Darrah, so that every one of us can celebrate, and hopefully to celebrate that he's bi too
)
That's assuming Cullen is gated against female Dwarves and that Dorian is gated against male Dwarves. And though you said straight female Dwarves, it also sort of implies Sera is gated against female Dwarves.
No it isn't? Cullen would be the one option for straight female dwarves. Dorian would be the one option for gay male dwarves. And it says nothing at all about gay female dwarves.

Wrong.
Mark Darrah just tweeted and it's nothing related to DA so...yeah, they're avoiding it. Don't see what's so hard about coming clean.
I feel like there should be a Tina Belcher gif that sums up my current state of happy disappointment. Like I am happy that a lot of people who have been waiting have gotten what they want, but I don't think I can be totally happy about it because...yeah. So my soul is kinda doing this:
...

Also, can someone explain why all of this makes it more likely for Blackwall to be a romance? Think I missed that part.
#religiousforbivivienne
Also if we get another MAGE WITH HIDDEN AGENDA romance, I might just let out a never-ending sigh.
I will be joining you on that sigh. For once I want a non-possessed, non-crazy and non-hidden agenda mage.

Oh, I lose respect for a character who is not interested in other races despite him not liking to be seen as just his race and I'm the racist?
I can't speak for the poster, but I believe they were placing you in the place of King Leonidas, not calling you a racist. That's the way I read it anyways.
Wrong.
Jeeze. It's fine to be disappointed but there's no need to be rude about it. Thanks.

AUGHHHHHHHHHHHH.
THIS ISN"T GOING TO GO AWAY, GUYS.
JFC.
JUST GET IT OVER WITH OMG.
Solassians, as you can see, I have been trying to get answers. Devs seem to be on redirect or radio silent. I think someone slipped something they weren't supposed to.
Which is ridiculous because I can't fathom why the LI status, sexuality, and racial preferences of a character has to have Area 51 levels of security and secrecy when the other LI's have been revealed ages ago.

I can't help but feel a little bad for the guy. Somewhere, wires got crossed. Maybe Solas was scheduled to be announced earlier, but something happened they moved the date back, and Mark Darrah got the dates confused.
I imagine keep track of this stuff is hard. Granted, now that the cat's out of the bag, maybe we should just give the thing a name? ![]()

It amuses me greatly that Allan may have been watching us silently; but he was probably just brought in by the buzzword.I can't speak for the poster, but I believe they were placing you in the place of King Leonidas, not calling you a racist. That's the way I read it anyways.

Ah, okay.
If that is the case, my apologies Ravensword. ![]()

I don't think Sera is gated against dwarves...? Wasn't there a tweet from Allan saying he was romancing her with a female dwarf?

Or maybe it's not even about attraction, and he just wants a way to be part of Dalish culture. Because I'm sure every other culture out there is going to welcome an apostate elf... I mean with the humans they'd send him to the Circle, render him Tranquil, or kill him (which is more likely since he's a hedge mage). The qunari would want him enslaved. The dwarves don't even have magic, so I can just imagine how they'd react to his presence. Really the only group he could be remotely welcomed by is the Dalish--the city elves would react much the same as the humans.
Wow, didn't expect Solas to be one of the racegated characters. My respect for the character has dropped, which sucks because he was going to be my main mage.
It could simply be that Solas has a type; it doesn't necessarily mean that he has a problem with men or women from another race; Varric, for example, says he is only attracted to dwarven women, but I doubt anyone here would consider him to be racist.

Yeah, I feel bad for em too tbh. Mark was obviously confused to think that he was previously confirmed when he wasn't. I think they didn't plan to reveal this at all but just lost track of what has been revealed in the midst of all of the craze. Think it's best to not keep it hanging, though.
Jeeze. It's fine to be disappointed but there's no need to be rude about it. Thanks.
I wasn't being rude. I was just saying that their line about "every disadvantage has an advantage too" is wrong.
I'm only okay with Solas being a villain if I am not forced to kill him/lose him.
This bites, while I'm happy that he's a romance I'm sad that he only romances elves, i figured by his open mindedness that he'd be completely open to any/most races... I am happy for those that like/are willing to play as elves! I might consider playing an elf but I am not very interested in such a restricted racial romanceXD I mean they could have not added any more, but the fact that they only stated elves only makes me sure that's their final decision.
