It's the typo demon I tell you!

My friend and I have a running joke where whenever we make a typo or our phones correct something, that it becomes part of an RPG if we ever made one. One time, she was messaging me about Cullen and referenced the vows line and wrote "cows of chastity", so that's on our list. Her ex boyfriend's name once came out as JPEG. I wrote Solas once and it came out Sofas.

Um... can I reveal something? I'm... not really fond of that Loki^^; It's not that I don't like him, but he does... little for me. Not really stirring many emotions, be it positive or negative

Loki or the bad boy/evil genius types do nothing for me. I do like Tom Hiddleston though.

I really want to reiterate what I posted earlier...We know so little of Solas's "plans", that it's really hard to make a valid judgement call; Resorting to hasty generalizations, and illogical assumptions based on misinterpretation and semantics leads to potential misunderstandings. What do we know? He plans to remove the veil and "restore the Magic". He wants to fix a broken world...One that he feels he broke (while actually saving it). The world of Thedas is in chaotic flux, in an unnatural state as a consequence of constructing the Veil. He wants to make amends, compensate for his actions, right a wrong..."restore the way of life/living" before the Veil.

We don't know, but that's half the fun!  We can speculate about him, Mythal, dragons, Titans...even if we're wildly wrong.  Everything from sunshine and rainbows to doom and gloom.  And we have years to spend turning our heads in circles, so we may as well enjoy ourselves :D

(I love the character, I promise.  I just don't see any point in taking him--or ourselves--too seriously.  He's a bunch of pixels at the end of the day, and I think it's as fun to toss out goofy, grotesque, ridiculous, illogical, and hasty ideas as it is to toss out plausible ones.)

I guess I'm just not seeing the game in such a hopeless light. But it's late and my brain is fuzzy and I just can't argue it right this moment. I'm sorry.

Edit : Pehaps a kitty hug instead?

tumblr_misimuUzBy1s3uk1no1_400.gif

Sorry, I'm just in a terrible hellspiral right now.

One line making it into the game does not indicate a set path for anyone.  And Sera doesn't like anyone in power.  She also doesn't like elves.  Sometimes you have to take what she says with a grain of salt.

Also, puppeteering Gaspard is not always Briala's role.  You can put her into power by herself - which I don't see lasting long tbh, not with most likely the entire nobility against her.  You can reconcile her with Celene.  You can have all 3 try to work together.  How any one of these will affect her going forward, we don't know.

And sadly, we maintain the status quo because we kind of have to.  If we could wildly change things, BioWare would have to take all of those changes into account going forward into the next game.  At some point the worldstates would be so divergent BioWare would almost have to make entirely separate games just to deal with them.  Which they can't do.  So until the end of the series, the status quo kind of has to stay the same or close to it.  I know we all want to make truly world changing decisions but it's just not possible within a series like this where we expect our choices to be reflected in future games.

Sera hates elves more than she hates human nobles. She'll constantly throw Lavellan's "elfiness" back in their face but not human Inquisitor's, and give Elf Quizzy an ultimatum to abandon their culture or get dumped but never does so for the human noble quizzy. But that's okay, because apparently the elves are as bad as she paints them as, and totally deserve it.  <_<

So no matter what happens with Briala, she just ends up in a position where human nobles can pull the rug out from under her or wind up back under her abusive mistress's thumb (and Celene didn't hesitate to use and abuse her before)? Wonderful.

Then why the heck does BioWare sell their games on having "meaningful choices and impactful consequences" if they have no intention of delivering?

So...what would you like to see from the game? Considering that everyone's main plot needs to end up in more-or-less the same place?

Apparently I just need flames rise from this game for all the good is does me.

That RPG should be named Sofas and the Cows of Chastity as a matter of course.

On his own merits as a character, I'm not crazy about Loki either.  But for pure looks, I think Tom Hiddleston is gorgeous, and Loki is evil and snarky, and I am a weak, weak person

Oh true, he's cute - but there has to be more than looks :D

This is why, weirdly, my heart belongs to the big boy scout - Captain America (well, then there's of course the one who I think would be a better Loki, character-wise - Tony Stark). Weird, because I usually am not into big, blonde jock-ey types, but there's both something about Chris Evans AND his performance that just... clicks. He's not just muscles or quiet determination - there's subtle intelligence and wit about him that speaks to me

Loki is far more complex than that, and probably why he reminds me a lot of Solas. He has a secret that nearly ruins him plus he's supposedly the key to Asgard's destruction, and he does get redeemed... but in a way that if Solas followed suit, you'd cry...

I was just editing my current chapter and making some changes. And so I'm at that step again where I wonder whether to post it or to keep writing. This one just sort of...feels...complete for this part anyway, but there's definitely more to this.

Almost forgot to respond, because I actually wanted to think before I type, and the thread moves so fast.

I say post if it feels like a complete unit. It will give you a small sense of accomplishment before you tackle the next part. The internet as a medium works well with things being broken down in smaller chunks. Just IMO.

You should hear him in Descent. Very deep like Trespasser too and recently there is new dialogue when you get 4 power to go to VR and he tells you to go and his voice is much deeper too.

What is VR!? I must know..

More like Solas and Kaidan, actually.  I think ME3 Kaidan's quiet snark and self-confidence is much closer to Chris Evans' Captain America than Cullen is.  But Maker, yes.  To either of those threesomes.

I get a Garrus vibe from Cullen. Is that normal? Especially the calibrating the trebuchets.

Some, yeah.  Military guy, calibration jokes, awkward in romance, overshadowed by badass boss.  But I think Garrus (at least by ME3) is a lot more comfortable with who he is, and where he is in life.  Cullen's still working that out.

Cullen/Bull hybird then. Lol

Also I have been romancing Blackwall and keep getting Solas vibes. His whole we will regret this, I need time to think, I can't stop, I don't want to lose you, then the truth he's not who we think he is and fears we will reject him. Only difference is we keep him.

Sounds like a romance I'd go for if I ever played ME.

We've seen mostly the negative fallout of his actions, so that's all we have to go on.  At least, as far as what's in-game.  Could his future actions turn out better?  Sure.  But his track record so far is...spotty.

Like I said, no point in taking him too seriously.  It'll be years before we know, so for now, positive's as good as negative speculation, even if there's more of one than the other floating around the thread :)

*waves*

I get the feels, but I've remained hopeful since the end of Trespasser. There's more information we're still missing, and Solas' body language and words show him as not entirely committed to his plan, emotionally compromised in light of his original intentions, and even wants to be stopped but feels resigned. But the door is open to hope.
