I'm sorry. :( It won't be nice to feel specifically targeted.

I guess just, from a mod's perspective, it's probably a little bit irritating for them as well, that the same individuals who've been reported & warned already re: doing something persist in doing it...? That's the only thing I can think of anyway. :S I don't know what's going on, last time I remember this happening I was away at the time and came back to some drama about people being mad about the person or people doing the reporting.

The only thing I can think to suggest is unfortunately, don't do it and follow the rules. :( I wouldn't like to see any threadregulars get banned. :(

I think you should listen to threadad, Sunnie.  You've got a lot of warnings all for the same thing and I'd hate it if you got a perma-ban :( Smut isn't worth getting banned over.

I think she had suspicions that he was something more than what he said he was by the time ME ended, and she knew he wasn't Dalish, but no, she had nothing more concrete than that.

Alright, thanks! It's my fault trying to write Felassan into a fic without having read the book *rolls eyes* It was always my intention to do so, but it looks like I'm writing faster than I'm reading lol.

It also doesn't help that I'm a stubborn individual but I'll try to follow the rules. (Emphasis on the word "try". :P)

You should make an outside blog, or pinterest or something. You add things, than just post the link here saying you added new stuff ;) Be it SFW or not...

I don't understand why people keep reporting it. It is an external link... it has no effect on you (YES YOU REPORTER PERSON!) no one is forcing you to click the link and I'm pretty sure we're all adults here.

I don't blame the moderators. They do what they do because people complain. There are other threads that have a lot more NSFW (there are others with a lot less too), but the people are chill about it so the moderators have no reason to put warnings out.

I appreciate all your art drops CapricornSun! Thank you for putting your account at risk for NSFW Solas propoganda, but if there is a chance of you being banned I'd rather you than the smutty art!

Also, why are links to art flagged, but not to fics?

-.-

Comments and feedback are so hard to get sometimes. Kudos are nice and all, but sometimes it makes you feel like everyone's pretty much "meh" about the whole thing when you hardly ever get a comment. Oh well, I suppose no writer should really expect comments and I don't want to turn into an entitled monster craving adulation :P

I see nothing wrong, you're not craving adulation, just communication. I'm the same. It's not that every comment has to be, "This is the best thing I've ever read", because, dude, if someone says this, I'm self-critical enough not to believe it. But it's nice when someone points out which particular line they liked and what stood out. I try to do that more when I comment these days. And if you've formed enough of a relationship that people also offer constructive criticism, that's even better. I've yet to see that happen to me though. But even just getting feedback on people's reactions it's so precious, I was truly surprised a couple of times, because people's reactions were very different from what I had intended, and it helped to know that.

I find myself nodding with everything you say. I actually love constructive criticism and having an actual discussion with a commenter. That means the person not only paid attention, but cares enough to offer ways to improve. Not every criticism is constructive, mind you, but I found I've improved quite a bit by listening to what other say about my writing, even if I decide not to make all the changes that's been adviced.

I love getting any type of feedback! I try to comment a lot on people's fics since I like when people comment on mine :) it's the same with these posts sometimes. I'll write out long posts and people will like them, but I want to know what you think  what are you liking? My adorable sense of humor or my great points??  ^_^

I'll miss the smut, but I would miss Sunny more, so don't take unnecessary risks, Sunny.

I've noticed that only stuff that's visual or links that are tagged NSFW get flagged. I think it's not someone who's reading carefully, they're just scanning through and visual things and NSFW warnings pop out at them.

Otherwise, it's not even just fics, I'm sure I've written enough in the very text of the posts to get banned by now :-)

There's nothing wrong with asking people for comments and feedback. You worked hard for that, and it probably took a lot of confidence to upload it. Don't be shy about asking for feedback after all that .

Though *sigh*, I really need to work on leaving comments too

Yup! I wouldn't like to be perma-banned either. :(

Though I'll be honest, if someone else posts nsfw art in the future and manages to stay under the mod's radar, I'll be a little bit salty. :P

Uuh, well I do reblog a lot of the smut on my Tumblr blog (under the nsfw tag). I know some people here do follow me on Tumblr so they've pretty much more or less seen them. ;)

I think yeah NSFW text can slip by someone who's just browsing or not fully paying attention whereas a picture of something NSFW is a lot more obvious and jumps out. To add, NSFW in text can be buried after a lot of SFW text, say a smutty story that begins out with some slowburn or plot development first etc, I doubt whoever is reporting scans through each fic that's linked in case someone has sex in it, hah. Also NSFW text is less.. "objectionable" I would assume, a lot of times you could easily read through some NSFW text at work without anyone being the wiser (from a distance just text on a screen), whereas a NSFW picture you can't really hide that it's just blatant.

Well, nice to know that I've been issued a warning again. I think I'm pretty used to it by this point. (I now have 5 warning points, yay! )

WHAT THE...????

Why are you getting warnings when some of us have posted far worse and haven't gotten a single warning?  :(  This doesn't make sense...

I'm pretty guilty of not leaving enough feedback and stuff also. But I can't explain it, I feel more intimidated about leaving a comment on something as opposed to posting my own stuff.

I think it's because I get all nervous that I might offend or upset by accident.

I'm weird though, so I wouldn't listen to me.

To be fair, the picture I linked to was pretty nsfw. :P But yeah, I envy the folks who never got warnings for posting the smut.

But what if I like everything about you, Neverland?

That's a good point. I'm obviously *flawless and make no mistakes! But then I like reading what things in particular you liked!

*I'm listening to Beyonce, her music does not inspire humility!

But if it is an external link why click it?

Just so everyone is aware NSFW stands for Not Suitable For Work, as in for mature viewers in private settings.

(The funny thingis this thread is actually what introduced me to that term and I definitely did not know what it stood for originally!  :P )

If you don't want to see/read that stuff don't click it! It does you no harm!

Couple guesses other than a reporter specifically targeting someone or mods specifically keeping an eye on someone:

- Moderator [human] inconsistency. This is a big board

- Other people have had warnings but not mentioned them.

:: confused shrugging ::  :wacko:

HAHA yeah I was like, am I on the right page?!

But yes. That totally slipped my mind when I did that. Sebastian! Now to ruin it forever:

IT'S CHOIR CRAB!

What would Sebastian know about kissing anyway :P  I know he was rakish in his younger years, but it has now been such a long time that he really must be terrible at it XD

(Or my Hawke has taught him a few things  )

Yeah......I dunno....I mean, I'm sure there is some serious hot n' heavy fan art out there......but the stuff I see in fanfics......

I have a really vivid imagination though and always scored super high on reading comprehension exams. Reading well written things is truly like watching a HD movie for me. It's a curse really.

I think that's why smut fanfics are a notch above the smutty fanart for me.

*shrug*
