I think it's made from spliced recordings of his voice, and not just from DAI. A word from here, a phrase from there. But it's very well made.

It was weird because we were staying in some potentially haunted house with Cassandra I think. And we put up the eye of the maker to ward off evil .

My Quizzy was so freaking elfy, the norm was 'Solas slightly approves'.... 'Cassandra greatly disapproves'.

 

I remember being surprised at the end of HLTA and seeing the words Solas Greatly Disapproves, Cole Greatly Disapproves and Sera Greatly Approves in the same place for the first time in the game.

After today, I've committed myself to giving more, and more specific, comments and feedback on anything I read. If I read it, I impose on myself to comment on it. As far as the depictions, it might be relevant when the statues and murals were created. At one point, even though he was working to free slaves and work toward rebellion, there's still a lot we don't know about some of his activities or exact relationship to all of the Evanuris or the Forgotten Ones. We know that legends can be distorted like a big game of telephone, but all we have to go on now are Solas talking about being given the nickname Fen'Harel, a nickname he decided to use. Like a bunch of friends/acquaintances making a joke. Even Mythal, his closest friend (let's just call her that for now as we don't know more) calls him Dread Wolf and not Solas. Obviously, in that scene, calling him Dread Wolf is, on a meta level, something that informs us, the audience of his identity, maybe that's just the thing she was still used to calling him since he adopted it for himself.

 

He tells of wars and sacrifices he has made and of being betrayed, so there's a whole other side that we still just don't know.

 

Presumably, the doings of the Evanuris, including Fen'Harel, weren't fully known to the people who created those works either. In the real world, we have plenty of art meant to venerate leaders or deities that were done for ones that even had terrible reputations or records.

 

I'm not sure if this is even going anywhere or making sense but ultimately, I think we either don't have enough info or it's just something the art team thought would be there, or thought might be suspect if absent. Especially since they planned Solas/Fen'Harel as a reveal for a while, so leaving him out would've maybe been suspicious since we were supposed to think of the "gods" as a pantheon and  on a similar level with the whole betrayer, trickster, big bad in Fen'Harel.

Yeah, I agree it's often hard to know what is simply put into the game just to give the player the right clues and shouldn't be analyzed too much... That scene with Solas and Mythal is obviously a way to inform the player what he is, if she had just called him Solas we would only have been aware of them somehow knowing each other. But, as Morrigan herself pointed out, we would not have questioned the absence of Fen'Harel at the temple of Mythal because to our knowledge he did not belong there. It is Solas himself that questions the idea that he didn't belong there:

 

 

 

I think, based on these mosaics, that we are able to draw some conclusions about Solas and his relationship with the Evanuris:

1. He was considered by the People to be one of the Evanuris, even though Solas himself seems to distance himself from them.
2. Fen'Harel was considered equally important as the other Gods. The reason why I think this is interesting is because it might contradict the theories that Solas simply served as Mythal's guardian and nothing more.
3. We obviously don't know when the temple was created, but it's interesting to note that Solas was already depicted as a wolf. Does this mean that Solas was always known as the wolf, or is the temple from the time when he had started his rebellion? And if so, why would the Evanuris allow the People to depict him as an equal when we know from Trespasser that they tried to warn them away from him. Note that we never see depictions of the Forbidden or Forgotten ones. Why would they make an exception for Solas?

I have no idea if any of this is correct, but it is fun to theorize!

It is sad, the whole audio is really sad (it was also done really well, like I'm listening to a story), but the construction of the sentence + the tone of his speech just made me personally laugh. Solas is an idiot (a very intelligent idiot), I suppose I just really related with the sentence 

It's like joking you'd grab him by the ear and lecture him and blame his parents who have failed to educate him that it's wrong to cause the death of masses.

 

Ughhh I really want DA4 now, or at least - let it be next year so I'll have ME:A to distract me.

I'd be so happy with even an announcement that DA4 got greenlight, I'd be even happier if I'd have an approximate release date and then I'd make a big calendar and start marking it with Xs and sad faces.

Origin says the DLCs are installed, but I don't have any options on my board to investigate any new areas. I was hoping to do JoH and Descent before Solas broke up with my Lavellan.
