I was thinking the same thing. Except I was quiet about it.

Edit: Guess I could share what I"m doing. I'm trying to finish up the next chapter for my Zevellan adventure before revisiting Mirrors and doing something with that.

Otherwise I am heavily contemplating the possibility of walking to Tim Hortons with my daughter and getting some goodness.

Pick up a maple donut for me. :P

Actually, there is a Tim Horton's near where I am going tonight. Hmm.

It's definitely strange. And the gates seems to have been built to disrupt the sigil and the magic it was used for. We've far from discovered all there is to know about the Deep Roads for sure.

Hmmmm, could the sigil have been built by the Evanuris as a way to fight against the Titan that lives under it? To force it into sleep perhaps? And now it's disrupted and it's why it can manage to at least stir?

The doors were apparently made my dwarves, or at least Valta says, "The construction is ours" so one could assume dwarves.  But the metal is odd.  However, one of the entries says that the Parent (for lack of a better term) didn't see the sigil until they viewed the Deep Roads from the Fade .. so not a dwarf.  It also seems to be for some dark purpose.  Forcing something to sleep might not be nice but I'm not sure that seems harmful enough.  It might also depend on the age of that section of the Deep Roads.

There's just not enough information to really go on.  I think the next DA game should be called Dragon Age: Need More Info

Iunderstood it as the door being added later, and by a dwarf, you're right. The sigil was there before though, and we get no information who could have put it there, or why, or even when.

Then, you have those codices about a forgotten war and scaled ones and that is also so, so weird! It doesn't sound to be darkspawns sat all. but... what else could they have encountered in the deep roads?

Sunny, I really love the relaxed way their fingers are laced together. Lovely moment. :)

I think your figures also feel a bit more...weighted, I guess, than before. And by that I mean they uh seem to take up the space in a realistic way. If that makes sense.

Normally I'm not even on at this time because I'd be at work where they block anything that is even remotely tied to games or gaming.  But I'm still sick so I'm home yay   -_-

So I'm playing through Descent again.  And getting all of the gears .. again.  Like I get all of the shards every time I play.  Why, yes I *am* OCD about that kind of thing, what makes you ask?

Anyway, reading the messages when you open the doors ... apparently the Deep Roads or at least part of the Deep Roads are built to form a giant sigil?  Rather like Kirkwall's roads were built to form a giant rune of some kind (if you read the Band of Three codex entries).

I wonder what their purposes were.

Yesterday I wrote a long post about magic in Thedas (in FrankW's thread) and wrote, amongst other things, about how blood magic can tear the Veil apart rather easily. Then I got the uncomfortable idea that Solas is going to use a massive rune that spans across all Thedas to sacrifice all of the citizens of Thedas.

Now that you wrote this post I'm even more uncomfortable.

I know it won't happen (like 99% certain), but it still makes me uncomfortable, especially with the whole "why does the world have to die" "I can't tell you that" deal.

Ha, me too. I was just about to post - do you want to see my drawing, Sunny? :P

Umm, yes? :D *grabby hands*

Hmm...it seems that I can only buy the game of the year edition as a download for PC. *sighs* I like to actually own my games, to hold them in my hands, to be able to look at them on my shelf.

I could buy the GOTY edition from PSN but like you, I'd like to actually own a physical copy. And sadly, I just heard from out local game shop that they're not sure when they're gonna have the GOTY edition of DAI in stock. Grrr!

I guess that's one downside for wanting a physical copy. You have to wait for it to be in stock at the stores.

Now I am thinking of someone lovingly petting a game box. :D

I have my issues with digital distribution too, and love to have a physical copy option, but I guess I understand it.

I said not dwarves because the person who saw the sigil saw it when they were in the Fade and this person also refers to the one who created the doors as their child.  Unless they weren't speaking in a literal sense.  Dwarves don't normally go into the Fade unless they're the PC or a companion of the PC so it's unlikely the person who saw the sigil is actually a dwarf.

Sometimes I do wonder if the writers put these things in the game with no other purpose than to see what fans come up with  =p

Have you thought about maybe ordering it online?  From like Amazon or a game store's website?

Yeah the lore is scarce, or we're not putting it together right.

It could've been a Dwarf, if we take Mythals' codex in the deep roads to mean she made them dream. Or the note found in the "stone dreams" quest in the Hinterlands.

Apparently the person couldn't "build the locked barriers that would carve the marks and break the sigil".

Physical copy..yes..that the word I was looking for. Ugg...I'm not awake yet.  I hope they have physical copies for PC someday.

That really sucks, Sunny. I was excited for you that you might get a copy today.

LOL, Cee...yes..I want to pet it and hug it and call it George!

My theory was that the "mother" is actually the Titan, and would consider dwarves their children. I didn'T even think it could be literally someone's mother until I saw it on this thread. I saw those codex as the titan whispering in some poor dwarf's mine the solution to disrupting the sigil's magic, perhaps because it was hurting it (her?).

Another art post. :P

First off, shameless self promotion: My latest Solavellan art trade over at Tumblr.

But once a Titan connects with a dwarf, which may be what have happened here since it's a parent taking over their child, shouldn't that dwarf be able to go into the Fade as well, since they have magic again? Or is Titan magic different from Fade magic?

Ahh, Canada. How I love you.  My ex is from Canada, I used to go up there once a year. He's from Ottawa. Such a nice place, so green and friendly. I miss maple cookies, can't get them here in Nevada. :-P Not a fan of Quebec though. Everyone there was so rude to me because I couldn't speak French. Like speaking English there is a huge insult or something.

Thank you! <3 I still need to improve the hands though. It needs a bit of.... something. Like it still looks stiff.

I'm hoping I could draw hands like thetaiwanesedartjob. There's something lively (I'm not sure if that's the right word to describe it) about the way she draws hands.

Like this one.

*grumble* I could really go into this but I won't.....but I hear you. I have met MANY pleasant Quebecers.

I have also met many who weren't and I knew why they didn't like me.

Anyway.....I'm armed with a muffin and coffee so maybe I'll actually finish this chapter now.

Why's that, do you think?

Good question. Possibly because I've never been certain if they actually did it in their time together. That Halamshiral fic might just be the farthest they ever went. So, for me writing smut, I'd have to get a second Lavellan going with a dirrerent story arc, but i'm so attached to my Ellana that I can't see myself doing that. Also, there's so much feels and story and lore attached to Solas that my mind tends to go there instead. My current story, Aftermath, probably won't contain a sex scene. I also had some pre-trespasser one shots that were supposed to go with the Halamshiral fic, but... yeah, writer-block and all. I could never write them down.

So connection to the Stone does make them dream. But maybe they connect to a realm that isn't the Fade. The Stone?
