Solas seems to me like he would smell pleasant, like a sort of dry green-ness with pepper, and maybe the slightest of musk notes. If I were bottling Solas as a fragrance, that's where my mind would kind of go.

 

I think he would smell of eucalyptus with just a little touch of menthol. I imagine the trees in the Emerald Graves smell of eucalyptus, and he burns a eucalyptus/menthol incense where he lives/works to help him breathe deeper and focus his mind. Then the smell remains on his clothes.

Oh, I think his smell is completely HC, anything is possible.   I came up with the scent a while ago while writing chapter 1 of Stealth and wanted it to be a little mystical, since most of the things I come up with paint him as very ordinary. 

 

I haven't gotten to that part of TME yet. I'm reading it very slowly, because 1) I want to be focused while reading it, so it's not something I can do between experiments, 2) Felassan parts overwhelm me with feels and I stop reading for a while, 3) People are very prolific and keep sharing fics, so I feel compelled to go and read those instead, 4) I feel the peer pressure to write myself, which is a good thing, really!

Oh, it's definitely headcanon. I like seeing everyone's take on these sorts of minor aspects. I've written a bit into my own fics as to Nirwen's oils that she has kept wearing even at Skyhold as a reminder of home/previous life, but I don't think I've ever written down what I think Solas smells like. Note for the future.

Gods, yes...I have an account, but I haven't even tried to write fiction since I was a teenager. That was a really, really, extremely...long time ago!

 

I don't really have a clue about how to write fiction (at least on my own), because even then it was mostly a collaboration...passing the story back and forth, writing a paragraph or two, just for fun. I did however, write a lot of poetry and prose--which always seemed to come more naturally to me.

 

As far as fan fiction goes, I really have nothing, except for a bunch of crazy ideas and "something" I wrote by accident when opening notepad just to write down some of the "ideas"...ummm, it might be a chapter or a prologue (?) for that "something," but it feels mostly like a project in search of an author.

I have nothing to offer right now but an embarrassingly large collection of mostly Solavellan bookmarks, unless I'm convinced to publish that "thing" and/or collaborate on something...Heh...Let me know if anyone needs proofreading or editing, please!:
