Oh yeah that was rough. I ended up glitching it and jumping behind the door because at that lawful point in my Lavellan's life, she wouldn't want to go against her traditionalism. But I'm a completionist so I glitched it

No, Cole can perceive more of the thoughts and emotions that another character is feeling. He was talking about Ameridan trying to convince Drakon that their religions could coexist, since they didn't actually contradict each other at that point. Maybe there is some parallel to what Solas is doing, but I'm pretty sure in that moment Cole is talking about Ameridan and Drakon and Andrastism vs the Creators.
Yeah I wonder that too. I found it odd that Cole was saying he could help him right now. It was as if Cole was saying he could go into the Fade and talk to the Emperor at that moment. There were no quotes. It was just Cole talking. When he spoke about Ameridan's convo with Drakon, he used quotations, but not afterward when he said he could help him see. That I found odd.
Who would fall into the "evil" categories in the Inquisition? I don't think evil is the best word to describe that tier, 'selfish' might be better.
Was Solas neutral evil at the beginning (killing Felassan)? Sera chaotic evil for anarchy (though she seems to want to help the underclass so that's not selfish)? Vivienne lawful evil for her mage ideals?
Just tossing ideas around.

Cole has Falon'Din powers?
Cole has Falon'Din powers?
LOL who knows? I still think Cole is not just a normal spirit.
But yeah it was just his wording and lack of quotes. It made me feel he might try and stop Solas. Or it foreshadowing what was to come. I never thought about it in March (even though Trespasser was being worked on during JOH) but now we know Cole knew everything about Solas and his plans, but never told us.
I think Solas is more Lawful Neutral. He doesn't see things in shades of black or white, but grey. He is willing to compromise himself to make those difficult decisions that will benefit the bigger picture. He doesn't enjoy it but he's willing to get his hands bloody.
If anyone has been reading my fanfic I posted chapter 5 Deception
Thanks drosophila for helping me clean it up!
LOL who knows? I still think Cole is not just a normal spirit.
Lol, well, technically, he certainly isn't - not that many spirits cross the Veil and take human forms without possessing anyone or anything. Even Solas claims he is unique.
I wouldn't take it TOO far though. If anything, Cole seems to be simply ("simply"?) a pretty powerful spirit of Compassion with enough of personality developed to be able to cross to the waking world and survive.
Finally back home. Urban Decay waterproof liquid eyeliner does not budge. Now to catch up with this thread and possibly make some tea while I attempt to be less wired.
Extrovert + party + talking to people = very 'up'.

I think he's closer to what the spirits were that interacted with the elves (or hints at what it could have been like with them, same as the Avaar). In one codex in the Shattered Library, two spirits were uh... "getting it on" and formed physical bodies for the act until someone told them to get a room. ![]()
So this happened:

There was a lot of trivia, Mike Laidlaw was giving people console copies of the GOTY edition. And after many rounds of trivia, there were prizes. I arrived a bit late and they had just started the second round of trivia, so it was too late to join. Too bad since I knew a lot of the responses.
There was an entire trivia round that consisted of Mike Laidlaw saying phrases spoken by Cole and asking people to identify the references. I:D
People won some nice prizes at the end of the trivia. There were drinks and food and the place was all rented for the event so it lent a nice sort of closeness to it. It was neither loud nor too crowded, so we had room to breathe and also we could talk without shouting. He said they may want to do these sorts of events more going forward, and this was kind of a tryout.
Conal Pierse and Sean Traynor were also around. Conal gave us pins. The pins are pretty cool. I got to talk to Mike Laidlaw for a couple of minutes. I mentioned the Trespasser leak and how it was like such an amazing day to be a fan and he laughed and was like 'well...on our end'...it was like some guy in Spain flipped a switch and went to bed'. ![]()
Glad i went, always fun people to talk to in the DA fandom. Met a few Lavellan cosplayers. There was a Sera with an Adaar as well.

Well Sera really isn't for anarchy, since she's for the current system despite it screwing people over, doesn't want things to change just wants them to go back to normal, and when Solas told her she could do more revloutionary type stuff with her organization she freaked out. Yeah, she's not evil, but she is selfish, as I've seen a lot of people point out it appears she really just doing this Jenny stuff for herself and just using the whole "Oh, I'm doing this for the little people," to put on a veneer that's she a good person, wheather she is aware of this or not. After all, Sera really isn't introspective, self-aware type. But, being selfish doesn't mean she's evil, after all we're all selfish. So I would certainly say she's chaotic nuetral.
The Iron lady = lawfully evil.
For Solas to be neutral evil he would have to be doing it for himself and for his benefit, which isn't the case with him. He's doing what he's doing for the sake of his people.
So I just started another Trespasser playthrough with my mage character and omg, it's so much easier to get through nightmare with a rift + fire mage. You get both the cc and the damage. This Lavellan also drank from the well of sorrows so I was able to beat the first quest without having to kill Solas' spirit guardians. =D I guess that's one benefit from drinking from the well. I am still wondering about the impact of drinking from the well. It seems like the choice to keep the inquisition intact. You get more power, but the risks of Solas controlling you are also higher.
Edit: Also Solas' spirit guardians are shaped like ancient elves. I am starting to believe that ancient elves and spirits are two sides of the same coin.

Solas is difficult... He is a compassionate person, and does care about people, so I think he can be Neutral Good. After all, he does have a moral compass, it's just that he is torn by the good he feels he needs to do for his people and the corresponding bad that he will cause modern Thedas. So... Neutral Good? True Neutral?
When I read the description for Chaotic Good, I thought, that's Sera! She does what she does for the "little people" after all, it's just that how she does it is bonkers.
Vivienne, yeah, lawful evil. The system is a convenient structure for her to gain power. That seems to fit.

I am looking for people with too much free time on hands with good or better grasp of English to proof read later on. I am terrible, really.
Usual fanfic thing.
I might even go for... fluffy... ending. Not sure yet. I am writing it same way as Cassandra reforms the Seekers. Just let it direct itself and go with the flow. ![]()

I was going to put the first 2 chapters I managed to muster up on my blog, but I kinda... don't want fanfic on my blog. There are sides of me some people do not need to know ![]()
@Kadan: I hope you won't mind that my fiction is taking similar (although not identical) path as yours, as it seems so far. I assure you I am not a copy cat as I had the major events in my story brewing in my head for some time, we simply seem to have similar thoughts and ideas. I love your fic so far. Forgive me if it might look I am copying anyone. It's my first time, after all. (If I don't count one published 3 page short story, which has nothing fantasy in it - drug, abuse, party gone wrong. Out of all things, that's what I got published, and what gave me some kind of young writer award... second place, though!
... that's 12 years ago.)
Also another thing in JOH that makes me think Solas is not even close to being a main villain is this codex entry:
http://dragonage.wik...ldauran's_Claim
I am Geldauran, and I refuse those who would exert will upon me. Let Andruil's bow crack, let June's fire grow cold. Let them build temples and lure the faithful with promises. Their pride will consume them, and I, forgotten, will claim power of my own, apart from them until I strike in mastery.
If you take that bolded part literally, Fen'Harel (Solas/Pride) was their undoing. Once he's done his part, this one will make his appearance. Makes me think of Sandal saying that "when he rises all will see".
I still think Solas is the wrong one to be focused on, but we won't know that until the DA4 PC discovered the deeper plot involving something no one was expecting.

Fair enough. I've boldly told my family I'm going to be a published author one day and that I post things online now, but I don't have the nerve to say its all fanfiction...
I think Solas is neutral evil at the begging then slips into true neutral.
Vivienne is for sure lawful evil haha.
Iron bull if he stayed with the Qun I think would fall under lawful evil.
Sara would fall under chaotic evil or even chaotic neutral.
I feel like Bull would be true neutra either wayl. Qun Bull doesn't have an agenda. Qun Bull is just a mindless tool for the Qun. A husk. Non-Qun Bull is proubebly true neutral as well.
Sera, for her to be chaotic evil she would love chaos that's happening from the rift. Sera isn't an anarchist (sadly) she's just a kid that want's things to go back to normal so she can pull more pranks.
Solas is a revolutionary and is willing to get his hands dirty for what he feels is right, so I vote chaotic neutral.
Cole = neutral good
Blackwall = aspires to be neutrally good, but before he became Blackwall he was probally true neutral.
Leliana softened = neutral good
Leliana hardened = Chaotic Good

Ha, Maker's Breath. They really coined some good phrases in this game.
It sounded like fun! Was this nearby where you live? We don't really get anything like that in NZ, especially not the South Island.
I couldn't resist ordering the Emergency Induction Port. It came with one. ![]()
This was here in New York. New York Comic Con is happening and they decided to have a meetup event tonight. It was much fun.

I present a fun question:
Which personality alignment does your Lavellan fall under?
An example chart:
Spoiler
Mine went from '(Dalish) lawful neutral' to 'true neutral' in about the space it takes to say "slave markings".
Oh, cool chart! Lawful neutral for my own!

Soon the elves will have their own version of this, By the Dread Wolf's a*****. By Fen'harel's shinny head.
If I must imbibe something, and I always must, it would be the Maker's Breath.
That would be my choice too, though I'm no drinker. It just sounds refreshing lol
