It seems like this news is not good news. I never really lurked in this thread before now but it seems like most of the hype for a romance was coming from people who wanted to romance him as a male character. I'm sorry, I feel your pain

Yessss, glad he's finally confirmed. Though I've gotta say, I'm disappointed at him being gated to elves only. Was planning on romancing him with a Qunari lady. Ah well, at least this means that Cullen's probably not race-gated, and FemQunari/Cullen was my other ship.

 

I'm just not the biggest fan of monoracial pairings in Dragon Age (even though my canon Warden ended up being an Elf Mage who romanced Zevran). I like having a contrast in viewpoints. Maybe I'll roll a non-mage Dalish for Solas's romance. Aargh, but I want to romance him on my first playthrough and my first is always reserved for a mage. Dilemma.

As a gay male who wanted Solas, I'm actually extremely glad with how this turned out. Not only was it unexpected, but I like how restricted he is. It shows that Bioware isn't just catering to the SJWs and are actually creating characters they want to create. It may be unbalanced, but I think it makes our companion lineup much more interesting.

He's one of the few who's romance I *do* know details about, and I think it's a very interesting one.

As a gay male, I don't like being stuck with less options than everyone else. Again.

 

Yes I'm assuming Viv is the last LI at this point.  I don't see it any other way.
