Okay, so Feynite's Looking Glass is amazing. Haninan is giving Felassan some serious Best Elf competition, and the whole thing is just so well written and lovely and sad, that it just kind of feels like canon! It is my canon now, so far. Gosh, there are some talented writers. Including people in this thread. *salutes all the people here who create lovely words and art for us to enjoy* you seriously rock, thank you so much xx

From EP Deshann is really pretty and I think I really like Stonefalls for looking very... Jurrasic? It's definitely a unique map. But I think Auridon is probably the prettiest in the most basic sense: it's a place I'd definitely like to have my summer house.... if not just a regular house. All those colorful trees! And those whimsically shaped rocks near the coast  <3

The Shadowfen was jurrasic to me, with the argonian carvings.

Oh did you go to that little island in Auridon? I think it was this one:

Spoiler

I believe it had a bear that would attack you if you got too close. Auridon's colors are really nice, dusky.

Ahh you're making me miss playing :P.. It's pretty..

Spoiler

What? How?

I quit Skyrim 5 minutes in because of the messed up UI, controls and baddd lackluster graphics.

I remember playing Oblivion and feeling the fantasy, something I didn't feel in Skyrim, but these pics are a lot more colorful than what I remember.

Funny, I felt the fantasy in Morrowind and Skyrim, but I struggled a bit with Oblivion. :P

Skyrim does need more color variety. Most games do. I'd have loved to have had more DLC like Dragonborn where you visit another province. The ash style of Morrowind mixed with the Norse sensibilities of Skyrim make for some lovely level design. Oblivion always felt a little too bland, I guess? Don't get me wrong, I'm quite fond of it. The southern half of Cyrodill in particular. *shrug* It's just my less-loved ES title.

It's ESO not Skyrim! I heard Skyrim described rather accurately as '10 shades of brown' or something .

I had like 80 mods in that game and played 1000 hours worth. Inquisition I've clocked about 500 hours and haven't even finished my second playthrough.

Wow ... I'm actually really impressed. I'm aspiring to write my own books one day, so knowing someone who's actually starting is very uplifting for me. Your writing is great! I'm reading your ESO fic right now, and the quality is astounding and better than most books being published right now.

Best of luck! :D

I agree, I peeked in out of interest and you have a beautiful way with words.

I'm envious

That may be true, but if that's the case, then he has no reason to write Trespasser the way he did. They could have just ended the Solas confrontation without Solas revealing his plans. Solas could have lied and said that he is looking to revive ancient elves and build a new city somewhere instead of saying that he wants to tear down the veil and destroy your world. Or he could have just been vague like Morrigan. Honestly, it wasn't very smart of him to tell the Inquisitor his plans lol. Considering the weight of evidence, I think Trespasser holds more weight than vague statements by the developers about how they like a new protagonist for each game.

And yet they give us some kind of hope, perhaps missleading but still. Personally I would also want to see my Lavellan meeting Solas in DA4 as the hero but highly unlikly that would be...

Currently reading Feynite's Looking Glass and I'm now on Chapter 3. Very well-written but wow, the chapters are longer than what I'm used to reading. All worth it though.  :D

-------------------------

Anyway, art post again. :P

Trespasser: "Sleep. I will not be far behind." (Solavellan; Warning for blood.) :crying:

Solavellan family. <3

Solavellan based on a poem from 'Little Red Riding Hood'.

Adorable Solavellan artwork. Colored version of this art^_^

Solavellan sharing a bed.

"Oh vhenan, ar lath ma." Solas WIP.

Hooded Solas for Inktober. (With nice pink lips btw.)

Another Solas for Inktober.

"Vhenan."

Solas looks deep in thought.

Thank you Shari, it's nice to hear such kindness :). I might read it over tonight, from memory some of it was a bit cheesy so I'll probably end up cringing .

At least it's not 50 shades of grey, eh!

Okay ew ..

*wakes up and reads thread*

All this ESO talk makes me wants to get it.

My husband played it and really liked it, but then all his friends went back to other MMOs before I could grab it and get in to it. And I have been itching ot play an MMO as of late. I even reactivated my WoW account just to see what was going on over there and concluded that this is what happened to the lore.

Spoiler

I mean......just running around killing stuff is fun....but the story has become a bit wonky over there.

Missed the whole conversation about gaming history (damn time difference!) but long sotry short started with Atari when I was about 6yrs old and 30yrs late still going. I got massively into MMO's with EQ & EQ2 then WoW where I met my partner. I remember my family really didn't like and my friends would get upset I would rather play then go out every weekend and drink but now? Half of them are worse than me! They also thought it was weird I met my partner through a MMO but after 9 years I think I did alright, it's pretty common now too.

About online gaming.. I've been wanting to explore the multiplayer on Inquisition but I'm way to scared to get put into a group with randoms (even though I used to raid on WoW), I'm but a lowly level 4 archer in multiplayer Inquisition.

I'm yet to download the other pack too, since we went over our internet cap this month <_<.

If you're ever interested let me know. I got really heavily into before and enjoy it as a bit of fun. Most people are really good too and I think your from NZ so fits with my Aussie timezone.

ESO is most fun for its questing and community imo. It's pretty similar, but obviously not nearly as fun (the elder scrolls series is god)

If you ever wanna play there's a good number of us on there (and me obviously lol) It's pretty good. I recommend it  :D

Has it changed much? I played it when it first came out and although I loved it, it was still bit buggy so took a break and got distracted.

Unlikely you say?  :?  Why do so many people on the forum think this is unlikely? Is it just because Dragon Age has always had a new protagonist before? Is it because that one vague statement about Dragon Age being about Thedas not any particular protagonist? Or, is it just that a lot of people on the forum like the new game=new hero thing and don't want it to change? If I hadn't heard any of this new game=new hero stuff online, Trespasser would have left me 100% certain the Inquisitor or ex-Inquisitor is coming back.

Weekes has said he intended for Trespasser to convey that there will be Solavellan closure in the future (as long as there is another game). I don't think he's cruel enough to consider a new pc asking Solas about his girlfriend or a war table mission closure. Trespasser only makes our Inquisitors more relevant in the story that is yet to come. It makes the "fight" with Solas personal. If we don't see the Inquisitor as a playable character for at least part of DA4 I will be extremely surprised.

People on other parts of the forum bring up the arm all time as evidence of new game=new protagonist. The missing arm is no excuse to toss out the Inquisitor as the protagonist. Losing the arm was the only way to ensure he/she would be alive to remain the protagonist. It provides Bioware with a believable way to reset the player's skill trees (like Shepard dying at the beginning of Mass Effect 2). If they took the Quizzy's arm just to make it "impossible" for her/him to be the hero that would be a pretty ugly and totally politically incorrect move on Bioware's part.

I think we have every reason to believe our Lavellans will meet Solas in a future game. Team Optimism!

Edit: Oops! Top Solas goodness from overflowing screenshot folder.

Nah, only if you want to. Some people will chat, most groups I experienced don't (you can also mute people, yay!).

I've only every chatted to other friends from the Cullen thread when I first tried it... I think we laughed and died more than anything.

No you don't. Some people do but I don't want to talk to strangers. Especially if they are talking in French and I do not understand one bit. ^^

Although I like to play with friends and we do use TeamSpeak to better coordinate things.

I don't like playing multiplayer with random people very much. Most of them have their own agenda, they just rush through, leave treasure behind, pull the mobs as if there was no tomorrow and get everyone killed. And if we're all dead, they leave the group. Great.

Ahem, have I managed to talk you out of it, yet? :pinched: That was not my intention .. So: There are of course great people around that it is actually fun to play with, they coordinate and are group-players instead of egomaniacs.

In my personal experience I still prefer playing with friends. When at least 3 of us are a team it doesn't matter that much if the fourth player is a douche. ;)

Hmm okay sounds good. I'll need to probably wait until next weekend to download the multiplayer patch.

I'd like to play as Zither or Isabela, does it take a long time to save up the mats for their coats? I'm stuck with the archer guy, which is actually still pretty fun. I tried to solo some maps but usually get killed off by the third door .

The newer characters do require a ton of materials to craft. You may get lucky though and unlock them via a chest. That's how I got the Avaar and Zither.

Finally got the invitation.

Here, my scrubby attempt for fanfic.

Feel free to point out really bad mistakes.

I was explaining the newly arised Cult of Fadecheeks to my husband today, while sitting in a crowded Starbucks.

Really good material right there.
