My prediction was... kind of right, kind of wrong...

 

I had Solas and Blackwall as the final two, and I figured that one of them had to be a race-gated heterosexual romance.

 

I just didn't think it was Solas.

Yes I'm assuming Viv is the last LI at this point. I don't see it any other way.

Let's not get too negative. Vivienne would be awesome, but there's still a chance for Blackwall.

...Sleeping with him for a ritual? O.o Man, it felt so wrong with Morrigan, dunno how I'll react with Solas.

 

I don't mean so much literally as much as I mean his place in the plot is similar. He's an important and central character and in the end, his story will lead you to either accept or reject doing something that could possibly have negative consequences. Elf children might not factor into it at all. We all have to admit, Solas kind of sounds sketchy, doesn't he? He may be a character with a questionable agenda the same way Morrigan was.

 

EDIT: AND THAT IS NOT AT ALL A BAD THING. Quite the opposite, actually. Morrigan is actually my favorite BioWare character ever so if he has some Morrigan vibes going on, I won't be sad about it!

C'mon guys.  Don't get down yet.  There is still a decent chance that the last one is Blackwall and, if so, I couldn't imagine that he'd also be straight.  So we might get a third option still!

 

I can't get my hopes up for Blackwall at this point.

Okay, now I am super intrigued by this. What is up with this romance plot that requires it to be so specfic?

 

...It's gonna be my favorite one, isn't it. I'm gonna run through this line with a dozen lady elves of different classes and voices, I just know it.

 

Count me in with the super intrigued bunch.

 

Because that is pretty darn specific. Like, that is female noble becoming queen of Ferelden with King Alistair levels of specific.

I wanna know where this road leads, even if it may be terrifying...

To be fair, women have been another group that have had less romances than others. Ain't even going to count Sebastian, because that... whatever it was... was not what I'd call an actual romance. It wasn't even about no sexual intimacy, it was about intimacy in general. It felt more like a bad joke than an extra love interest.

 

I am glad everyone does have a set of good options this time around. I'm sure we can all find someone for our characters to love, even if it wasn't our personal first choice.

I do like how they've broken the "all elves in DA games are bisexual" thing with Solas and Sera.  There have been interesting surprises, and I get the feeling a lot of thought was put into the characters' sexualities.

 

You know, when Sera was confirmed as a lesbian, I was like...  what if Solas is straight? This game seems to be about mixing things up, and that'd certainty do it!

 

Then time went on and more was known and I threw that theory out the window...

Poor phrasing on my part. What I mean was that in the past, you could always count on there being a bisexual elf. In this game, there are none, though most of us assumed they'd still include one because it's been a *thing*.

 

I just find what they've done interesting in light of that.  None of the LIs have been as I expected except Dorian, and I'm not even sure why I got that one right.

 

I like being surprised, is all.  But I'm sorry to see people who wanted Solas for a m/m romance getting the short end of the stick.

Not necessarily, since there are characters who don't appear to be married, like Keeper Zathrian, Keeper Marethari, and others. It doesn't seem like homosexuality is frowned upon, given the contrast in what Merrill says to a female Hawke in comparison to her conversation with a male Hawke, where she eludes to children and her people taking issue with it.

Big Solas is open minded.  LIttle Solas is more discriminating.

So, to sum it up, all the hints about Solas being a LI turned out to be true.

I'd hate to assume anything again, but based on that... I'd wager Blackwall is not a LI.

When it comes to the sexual orientations of the romance options, I've been right about everyone of them (even when I was hoping other wise) except for Solas (not including Sera because I never attempted to guess her orientation)

My biggest disappointment is that it appears that a LI that appears to be heavily plot involved in an interesting way is once again straight only. 

 

But I'm hoping for good things with Cass too, and I always liked the mage/templar dynamic.

I wasn't planning on romancing Solas, but now with "Super story reasons" for being a female, elf only LI, I might have to try it out
