So if Solas had wolf ears in DA4 would still look dreamy? Solas with some dreadlocks, wolf ears and eyes would be a cool way to show his transition from Solas to the dread wolf.

May I add, the Solas thread has long-since evolved from just being a fan thread about a video game character to a tight-knit, close and loving little community of its own. I don't make threadrules without community approval so if you're uncomfortable with the following that is A-OK (I'm not seeking to impose anything), just, my personal opinion is, any poster's personal troubles, whether minor or major, is not something I consider to be off-topic and not something you ever have to apologize for bringing up here. In my experience we're always all here for each other and try to support one another where we can. You are all dear to me.
So no need to apologize.

Thank you, all of you. You guys are all wonderful. I'm no stranger to loss. Her's just hit harder than I expected. I think the hardest for me it to see her babies grow up without her. They are both under 6. But they have an amazing dad, and a wonderful family that won't let them forget her.

Thank you. I'm proud to be part of the Blanketfort family.
Sorry to hear that, I can't imagine what you are feeling right now. I know you said you needed fluff right now, but I'm neither a writer nor an artist, so all I have is my not very impressive clay statue of the Dread Wolf (which I wasn't going to show anyone, but if it has even a chance to give you a smile...).

Thank you to everyone who replied with warm greetings & likes! You're really lovely people and should hear it more.
You speak to many of us trust me
I agree and Weekes said we'd be left utterly intrigued, and he wasn't kidding! Try a new game now, keep Solas in your party for every quest and listen to his banter and comments. Major eye-opener!
This is immediately what I did after finishing Trespasser. Everything is so much clearer in hindsight especially his cryptic Cole conversations. He was the master of omission & subtle misdirection in some conversations with the Inquisitor & other companions. I love flustered Solas when you manage to catch him in a lie & ask him about court life after Wicked Hearts and Wicked Eyes he's like what no I'm a hobo apostate. I'm talking about fade court. Solas slightly disapproves.
Welcome!
...Briefly, see my sig for my take on things...
Go Team Optimism!!!
**goes back to lurking**
Thank you for the welcome & I admit I noticed your sig before. I enjoy the unicorn approach to Solas. Go Team Optimism! ![]()
HELLO!
welcome, welcome, everyone's welcome in the blanket fort, we have lots of cushions and pillows and sugary snacks too for all your broken-hearted needs.
Thank you for the welcome! I'm pleasantly surprised to find another who thinks of Morrigan in such a way. If she's not romanced she's usually referred to as a heartless shrew. I don't exactly blame Flemeth yes I do for Morrigan's frosty nature but it's obvious she's been taught to expect betrayal & if you don't put yourself first who will? I always thought of her as more of a friend to my HoF than Leliana even if they meet because of an ulterior motive but that's basically every companion.
Trespasser has me thinking that the writers are not stumbling blindly but do have a plan for this series. I latched onto the idea of Solas being a spirit/demon before but than I wondered at his explanation if you ask him if he's a fragment like Mythal. Sometimes I'm a very literal person & need/want things explained. I've yet to finish my Trevelyan warrior play-through because I make so many Lavellans but even my Trevelyan was friends with Solas. I can't help it.

(David Gaider just actually posted one of the interviews his done, where he was asked just that question - how much do they explain to new players. Here's link, that specific question is somewhere in the last batch of questions. Link ).
Thanks for the link, that was a nice article! I'm still kind of bummed Mr. Gaider is no longer working on Dragon Age, but hopefully that means the new secret project will be amazing.
I don't think I've ever mentioned exactly how much I love that .gif, I get this fluttery-heart-stomach feeling every time I look at it (so eloquent am I), it's so beautifully animated.
Me too! The animation is lovely as well as the locations. All the Solas romance scenes seem to occur in gorgeous outdoor places, even Trespasser.
If this trend continues, we'll have to be wary of beautiful landscapes in DA4. Fighting through a dank cave crawling with darkspawn? No problem! Stumbling across a breathtaking mountain view with cascading waterfalls? The Dread Wolf *loves* scenic vistas - run away!
Sorry to be off topic, just needed to get some of it out. I need fluff and a happy ending right now. ugh.

Not a morning person either. (LOL, as the thread would know
) I think my Lavellan is hung over on most mornings, soo she's not much of a lark herself.

Kadan, I am so very sorry!Ducks into the blanketfort for cookies and friends.
ugh...not even sure what I'm doing right now...My mom just texted me 30 min ago. One of my dearest friends passed away. She was the most amazing person and never let life get her down. She was paralyzed from the waste down from a horse riding accident many years ago. Went on to find her true love and have two beautiful children. Her life was almost perfect. Then a month ago she found out she had stage 4 bone cancer. She was a true spirit of hope and faith.
Sorry to be off topic, just needed to get some of it out. I need fluff and a happy ending right now. ugh.

Remember that picture I posted yesterday of the dragon painting someone found in Skyhold? It comes from here. I edited three to stand on their own:

(Third image) Is it Ghilan'nain betraying Dirthamen? It reminds me of the bloodied statue in the fade before Mythal and Urthemiel (the old god of beauty), though this one is being stabbed from the front rather than the back. I think Dirthamen and Ghilan'nain had "something" together because of: that other Ferelden art of the bear holding the horned figure; the codex about Falon'din, his brother and the deer (halla?); the codex about the sinner belonging to Dirthamen and taking wings at the urging of Ghilan'nain. Surely he didn't die from this stabbing though because he had to be locked away like the rest of the Evanuris. That stab mark also has a green circle around it, something to do with the fade? He's said to have hung out with his brother there in the Dalish codex (Dalish lore *mumbles*).
That middle one reminds me of the clothing Solas wears in his romance card. What is in his hand? It looks like there is a moon behind his head. And who is dis woman Teeeeegan?

Top, excuse the large image (I just accidentally posted this into the lore thread where I also made top - EMBARRASSING):

I've never lost a friend but my own mother died when I was young and one of the most comforting things I learned growing up was that she had amazing friends that still haven't forgotten her. It made me realize I may not have gotten time to spend with her but others did and she was able to touch their lives.

Kadan,
I'm sorry you're going through this right now. Just remember that there is no right or way wrong to grieve, and that everyone grieves in their own time, in their own way. I'm glad visiting us here in the Blanket Fort makes you feel better. And remember--as someone once told me--we've got /all/ the bottles of Thedas at our disposal. ![]()

I'm sorry about your loss also, I can't imagine what my life would have been without my mother. She was the peacekeeper. Without her guidance I'd have been just as selfish and ignorant as the rest of my family. I'm like a spirit of compassion in a family of hunger, pride, desire, rage and despair demons. Seriously my family is messed up.
I really hate crying, makes my head feel all tense in the wrong places. I'm reading Looking Glass and I'm 3/4 of the way through chapter 6. I like it, it's a good distraction.

((Hugs)) Kadan. I am so sorry for your loss.
Today is one of those days that being in a long distance relationship is just the worst thing ever. My fiance's grandfather is dying. He's lived a long, and good life. 96 years old! I just saw him when I was there visiting in August. Now the next time I go, I won't. But I'm not sad for me. I'm sad for my fiance and his family. And I am helpless to do anything. Thousands of miles away. A priest came this afternoon to read his last rites. I just want to give everyone a big hug. Today is also Canadian Thanksgiving. So my wish today is for everyone to hug their loved ones, because before you know it they won't be around.
I need some fluff. I think I am going to work some more on my Cass romancing Trev. Sorry Solas but I am in no frame of mind for your brand of pain right now!
