Not a morning person either. (LOL, as the thread would know
) I think my Lavellan is hung over on most mornings, soo she's not much of a lark herself.
I am one of those people who loves mornings, but also stays up very late at night. I've always seemingly stayed up really late. I used to be really curious and sneak outside at pre-dawn and just be, take that in, smell the bread baking from the bakery a block away, watch trucks deliver newspapers, watch the deep blues of the sky dissipate and melt into colors. Stay up all night and sleep during the day. That has sort of morphed into 'someone who never sleeps enough and knows better'.
And you all may notice a pattern, since I based a drabble on this.
I need Shari to nerd with me over the new images we've found.
Outta likes now, but Cee: yes. I don't know what that armor is but.. yes. Yes is all I can manage right now..
Edit: I think it's the sentinel armor actually.
May I add, the Solas thread has long-since evolved from just being a fan thread about a video game character to a tight-knit, close and loving little community of its own. I don't make threadrules without community approval so if you're uncomfortable with the following that is A-OK (I'm not seeking to impose anything), just, my personal opinion is, any poster's personal troubles, whether minor or major, is not something I consider to be off-topic and not something you ever have to apologize for bringing up here. In my experience we're always all here for each other and try to support one another where we can. You are all dear to me.
So no need to apologize.

I am definitely glad to have decided to come here and post again since I hadn't been around since the old BSN. I peeked in, you all seemed pretty nice, and well, now I'm distributing welcome kits and cookies. ![]()
IRL, yes, I am huggy and would hug all of you (if comfortable, of course
).

Hey guys, I was struck by random musings today.
What would Solas think of the Lord of the Rings elves? In light of the quickening and the depravity of the evanuris I like to think that elves like Galadriel, Thranduil, and Elrond (a halfbreed!) would be deeply unsettling.

I dunno, I think he and Galadriel would get along like a house on fire.

Probably Thranduil, legolas's Dad, as well now that I think of it. Jolly immortal elitists the lot of them.
Hey guys!
Anyone that hasn't gotten the Solas Tower tee yet, now is a good time! Just got an e-mail today that the BioWare store is having a big sale on tees and hoodies. (Mass Effect stuff is on sale too)
http://www.biowarest...l.html?brand=82
edit:
Sorry that link isn't showing the tarot tees. Here's the proper link:

*_* I wish I wish I wish!
The desire demon might have actually been able to get me with the Hermit t-shirt, but my size is out of stock! I'm bummed out and revealed. Honestly the Leliana one is extremely tempting too. It might be my favorite design wise. Solas tarots just get favored because Solas ![]()
Now I'm re-looking at all the tarot cards.
What's your favorite card?
Does anyone know the names of all the ones I'm missing? Do they all even have names (I got the ones I did from the BioWare store)? Also, I'm surprised with as popular Cassandra is as a character she doesn't have a tarot T for sale in the store.
Your tarot cards!
Multiplayer tarot cards!
Fan art tarot cards
!
Okay, I'm done! ![]()
Edit: Lots of name help by Homeboundcrib!

No offense but Dragon Age elves are like child's play when it comes to Tolkien's elves. Different leagues. But if they did meet up in some weird alternate crossover universe then I'd say that an elf such as Galadriel would be more interested in helping the elves of the Dragon Age universe than chat semantics with Solas. Unless we are talking solely about movie based Galadriel.

Lol. I'm more curious to see how he'd react to our interpretation of elves during the holidays XD

True, though she herself had a youth of poor decision making that went hand in hand with some of the worst massacres and atrocities in Middle Earth. I just like the comparisons, middle earth elves are gracefully fading into the west. Solas is planning to destroy the world to bring back the elven golden age.

Feanor is the one who reminds me the most of the Evanuris, and he's long dead. Great in craft and knowledge...less good with people
And as a people, the LoTR elves aren't homogeneous. Some of them didn't even answer the original call of the Valar, while others never returned to Middle-earth at all.
I think Solas would be wistful but wary if he ever met the ones in Middle-earth as of LoTR. Places like Lothlorien and Rivendell might remind him of what Arlathan used to be like, and I think he'd get along ok with the White Council members. But I also think he could find an awful lot of parallels between the pride and downfall of the Evanuris, and the mistakes of the Tolkien elves (Feanor's oath, the forging of the Rings of Power, etc.)
My favorite tarot card is The Hierophant and not just because it's Solas. The art is my favorite of all the ones they did.
Mine is probably Sera's friendship card. It's so colorful and pretty! Second favorite goes to Bull's Tal-Vashoth card, because I never thought a tarot card could make me feel ill inside. Never going to regret saving the Chargers, but that card is disturbing as all hell.
It was deep in Descent too. That elevator seen was just delicious with how he spoke. Since Trespasser was being worked on during JOH, I suspect the VA did a bunch of recordings and kept the same tone he used in Trespasser which is his real voice and not the false cheery, higher one he used with his disguise when joining you.
Then I need to take him with me next time I play descent. ![]()

Varric's card after Here Lies the Abyss is also disturbing.

I'm thinking back now... it's been so long since I have read the Silmarillion. Kin slaying... as far as I remember she never slew any of the Teleri. She marched with the Noldor as I recall. But I believe she was one of the Noldor who stood aside. She crossed the ice and asked for permission to go to ME. She resided for a time with Melian and much of what happened there was down to Thingol and the Feanorians. Then she set up her kingdom. I'm thinking of this from memory so forgive me if I am leaving a major point out. Galadriel was one of the few who took an interest in affairs both mortal and immortal. She was wise and not quick to react. When I think about her and Solas in the same room I kind of smile. I think Solas is or was probably wisdom. So... yes I can see them having some lively interaction and debate. But I think Galadriel would never agree with what Solas is doing. I mean... I say that and yet I know that the ME elves extended their life in ME through the use of Celebrimbor's rings. They wanted their kingdoms just like Solas wants to restore the Elvhen realm. They do have silmilarities but I do not believe Galadriel would ever agree that the murder of innocents, be it mortal or no, is acceptable. I don't think she would even consider it unless the very world were at stake.

Have you seen the epilogue slide for a romanced Bull's betrayal? I saw it on Allegra's stream earlier and

Feanor is such a magnificent tosser, he'd fit right in with the Evanuris. But then I suppose he and June would probably need to have a smith-off, and then there'd be twice as many cursed magical artefacts floating around.
I like to think that Flemeth would irritate Galadriel to no end.

...I didn't know I wanted this until now. Oh Creators do I want this. It's probably a good thing that Feanor has such an ego; if the two of them ever managed to collaborate on something, we'd have a multiverse collapsing doomsday device. But at least it'd be pretty and sparkly ![]()
I think if anything, Galadriel would prefer hanging out with the more "normal" members of the DA cast. Book!Galadriel, at least. She never lost sight of how important each individual is, no matter how humble their origins. I'm just imagining Sera trying to get a rise out of Galadriel like Solas, and being really confused when it's a no-sell ![]()

I got that but didn't realize it was his good eye. Brutal.
And I added you Garnet

Same goes for me, if you want to keep track of me just add me.

Thanks for the name! I edited to add it!
The Hermit is my favorite out of Solas's, but I like The Hierophant a lot too!

And Vivienne's lying to her about the wyvern heart card, but I think I'd say Varric's is the creepiest.
I like Sera's romance card a lot because of the colors and playful nature ![]()
My bad Solas fan confession is that Bull's romance card is my favorite out of all the romance cards
there's just something so intimate about it.
Have you seen the epilogue slide for a romanced Bull's betrayal?
I've seen that tile before, but I didn't notice the detail because I didn't look at the slide for long.

That's pretty accurate, assuming my memory isn't playing tricks on me. She didn't kill any other elves, or make that dreadful oath the sons of feanor did to slay anyone who even thought about touching the simirils, but she was there, happily traipsing back to middle earth alongside those nutcases. I always wondered what she was after, what exactly did she hope to gain in middle earth? Power? a kingdom of her own? she's very wise in the later ages but wisdom comes through experience and she's endured the bloody rise and even bloodier destruction of pretty much all the great elven kingdoms.
Solas slept through his world's destruction. She watched hers. I think they'd have either a lot to say to each other, or there'd be a sad knowing silence.
Sorry, I tend to rant aimlessly when it comes to these sorts of things.
