Some of these are interesting. I don't really think about what I do but I'm seeing some that I think I do at least sometimes, but usually in particular situations.
one arm across body clasping other arm by side (female) arms nervousness Women use this gesture. Men tend not to. It's a 'barrier' protective signal, and also self-hugging.
hand(s) on hip(s) hands / arms confidence, readiness, availability The person is emphasizing their presence and readiness for action. Observable in various situations, notably sport, and less pronounced poses in social and work situations. In social and flirting context it is said that the hands are drawing attention to the genital area.
I have prominent enough hips - it sort of feels natural to rest there?
Speaking of pupil dilation, I once had a temporary condition that prevented normal pupil movement in one eye and it was very, very weird, especially looking in a mirror. ( light hurts a whoooooole lot when your pupil can't contract properly).
I've done that huggy thing before when I've been upset.
It does make your body bigger though, you stand out more. I don't rest hands on hips in public (not that I can think of). I most often do it when I'm in a p*ssy mood or I'm laying down the law for younglings.
Ouch, that sounds painful. Did it go away on its own?

I want an alternate reality where he tell us the truth then and there.
How different would everything be?
I wonder if Solas would remain as stoic as he does through that break-up!?
I think my Lavellan would need at least a few sentences of disbelief before she could accept what Solas just told her. She hadn't even met Mythal yet at that point and mine was firmly set in her beliefs that the Creators were just myth.
He should probably start it slow by bringing up the Abelas and the other ancient elves and then tell Lavellan he was one of them... I guess there's not a real good way to say "Hey, I'm the Dread Wolf!" ... I can see why he was nervous, but still, Lavellan would have had him trust her!
That might be one of my favorite Lavellan lines ^.^
I think Solas would have been just as torn up as he was when he broke it off with her in Crestwood. On the inside. On the outside... yes I could see him being stoic.
And yeah I agree that there's no easy way to tell someone a big secret like that.
Although some long explanations and questions would probably help. At least that's the way I think it would go between my Lavellan and him.
And I ran out of Likes.

It's important because to get a guest from one area to the next to sign or do a panel, you have to make sure fans don't jump them. I'm a very tiny lady. 5'2 and I have a voice like a young girl, but people seem to fear me when I'm working LOL
It makes sense you have the confident authority walk then! Anariel walks like an ancient elven not-god!

I do the same thing. I need to go to bed -.- but I don't wanna... it's crazy how you can lose hours on this thread.

I definitely do the one arm grasping the other probably too often. I do more of those on the list but the hands on hips thing stood out too, though I thought some took it as aggressive? I do try to consciously stop making myself smaller, which I am totally guilty of. I'm going to sound like a mess after mentioning that eye thing but my knees are turned in slightly, and my legs aren't properly aligned so I actually walked totally wrong my whole life, up until about two years ago when a physical therapist spotted the issue when I went for an unrelated matter. I fear for my future knees and hips.
So I spend time paying a lot of deliberate attention to my body position.
And no, it actually took about six months of awful steroid eye drop therapy to fully get rid of it. I say awful because it would go in my eye and trickle down into my throat and taste absolutely vile.
For six months, and you had to taper off slowly.

But I'm small like a dwarf LOL and here's me with my hand on my hip at an event this year. I always do this in photos. I was told I had a Cass vibe that day.

Yeah! Solas doesn't explain enough on the parts he needs to!

Uh, I think I stand more timidly when I'm out in public. Weight on one leg and one hand resting on the other's wrist. I was a really timid "goes unnoticed" kid in middle school, I started breaking out of that in high school, and now I don't consider myself meek or timid, but I'm definitely not a very confident person either.

Eeeeh that sounds rough. I hope your leg issue gets sorted out. I had a similar situation with my back a few years ago (similar as in it went unnoticed for too long). Bodies are complicated friggin machines! Stop breaking down and just work right!

It's more or less just something I can keep conscious of and make sure to deliberately walk correctly and not lock my knees. This all goes back to a birth defect, as I was born with inward turned feet and I guess everything was never completely fixed, even though I had a brace as a baby/toddler. In addition, the body language issue of making oneself smaller on top of the rest. Bodies are very weird things. I always have mystery issues that have never added up to anything (not that I want them to, really). No wonder Solas scoffs at our tiny gremlin existence. ![]()

Elfroot. Medicinal properties rediscovered in 4:20.
That picture you posted is hilarious
. So do his pupils really dilate? That'd be some attention to detail if they did.
