I've really liked your fic so far
So those "others" conjured by your doubt gremlins can stuff it!
Piggybacking off Cee's advice, whenever I'm really stuck, I jump around and just write a different section. It may not be direct progress but it gets the juices flowing again.
Yep, I do this too and it can really help.
It's not uncommon for me to leave gaps with [WORDS]
or [DIALOGUE] that I just leave as placeholders before writing what IS coming to me.
The good thing is that writing is a thing that happens in stages and it's completely fine to do it out of order, because people are wired to work well with different methods.
I've got a few small drabbles about when Clariel was a cute, shy little kid. I'm sure you can empathize; it's a lot of fun writing Lavellan before her life goes t*ts up. Maybe I'll organize and post them eventually.
It's definitely fun because it gives a chance to just explore who this person is and what has shaped her. Life at that point came with a whole other set of expectations. And the eventual changes lead to both more freedom and more confinement. Feeling out a full arc has been fun to explore.
