You know, I have always wanted to play an actual tabletop game but have never had the chance.

It is a lonely existance being the only nerd you know in real life.

I don't know the type of nerds who play tabletop games either. Or any RPG for that matter.

We could have a Solas thread table top RPG in a chat room or something? Or is this not feasible/not sounding like fun?

I've never tried GMing via roll20 or the other online systems.  But I'm totally down to look into it if you guys are interested.

Well, since we're all gremlins...

tumblr_mr6uh2aEUX1swngw9o3_500.gif

I'm probably the squished one.

And since we share stuff...

tumblr_m4b03xZ4Pj1rs0842o1_500.gif

This is what I'm always going to picture from now on when I read the Ancient Elven Writing codex entry about the "shifting, shadowy mass with blazing eyes, whose form may be one or many".

What's a roll20?

That's a question I never saw myself asking.

At my evilest? Probably this:

Both me and her have a penchant to use endearments... especially on those we unleash our snark on :D

I don't know where I actually get this almost "aristocratic" disdain I can sometimes can treat people with (uh, actually that's a lie. I think it's a courtesy of a close relative with a princess complex... The way she can push needles under people's skin with words and small gestures alone... Uh >.<''')

And then we all play our lavellans and it ends up a group therapy session with Solas at the center.

I think we all pretty much fit this level of intimidation:

Also adequate (beware tiny cute little snake):

I only snark through the voice of fictional characters. But if I wanted to, I think I could snark. :)

I'm exactly the opposite - all I know are people who play games and RPGs (except my parents and sisters). I've never been part of an online group before, but other people have told me it's fun. I'm not sure I can fit in another gaming group at the moment but I would if I could.

I'd be really interested. Who else is interested? Don't make me use blood magic to bind you!

LOL, hope if we RP our Lavellans, it will be all about empowerment and killing dragons. Kind of like a girl's night out in Thedas.

oh man me too. I knew a few people who did it last year at uni but I was always too shy to approach them and ask to play. D&D sounds like the best fun.

I'd do a one-time event, no way I can fit another steady commitment to an online comminity at this point.

I'd be interested in learning since I've never had that opportunity in real life. I am noob. Intimidating. Grr.

I generally avoid venom, and usually I'm too easy-going to start anything, but if someone irritates me or otherwise tries to viciously troll or antagonize me for no reason, I will not allow them to spit into my porridge  .... But the world of Internet is bizarre and unpredictable, therefore sometimes my sophisticated snarks either go over people's heads (mind you, I don't think I've ever used it in this thread or much on any forum, really), or people don't seem to mind and sometimes my really polite or light-hearted quips are bemoaned as horrrrrribly rude.

We are one. We are many. We are the Blanketfort!

Let's get snuggly...

Spoiler

I'd be interested in tabletop gaming. :D

My D&D experience was a long time ago and not very long lasting.. so I'd love to re-learn it. :x

Same for me. I could do a one or two nights' deal, but not a steady one. At least not for D&D type rpgs. But, I'd be game to try (pun intended :P)

Only time I ever used it on this thread was with a particular visitor. I'm ashamed of how much I enjoyed myself. If someone is trying to antagonize me, they might push me to that point, but it's rather unlikely, given how not seriously I take everything. There has been one time on the thread when something directed at me felt truly hurtful, but I handled it well.

It's probably not surprising that I'm not really a snarker. My brain doesn't quite go to those places, which is why it's a challenge to write too, if I try to get into that space.

I can maybe get on the edge of that in real life if fueled by resentment but even that only gets me so far.

Well, before the internet existed, that referred to rolling a 20-sided die. I used to play D&D as a kid...that was a really loooong time ago! :P

(been nursing a BAD sudden toothache....owwww)

Roll20 is a system for playing tabletop RPGs online.  It's free to use, and it includes dice-rolling, a grid map, digital tokens, GM tools, etc.  I used it once to help beta a friend's game, but I've never tried running a game through it.

I'd do a one-time event, no way I can fit another steady commitment to an online comminity at this point.

I'd be interested in learning since I've never had that opportunity in real life. I am noob. Intimidating. Grr.

I can't commit to a steady game either; I've already got D&D going on at least twice a month. But I'd be happy to learn roll20 and teach a one-off game for the Blanketfort :) If any of you are interested, PM me, and we can discuss details after I've had a chance to look at roll20.
