I don't play.  But I am totally in love with this show and take advantage of every opportunity I can to plug it.  Matt Mercer is the best DM to ever exist.  Plus it's an all voice actor cast.  Mercer recently DMed a game for Vin Diesel.  I sure do hope they post a video of it.  I missed it when it aired on Twitch.  The episodes are a bit long.  But it's worth it.

I know what show you're talking about.  For the life of me I can't remember what it was called.  His character died on that show to an acid pit. 

@Raeona Yes there is.  Wil Wheaton actually used it to make the world and game system they used on the show Titansgrave.

Trying to get a better feel for my Lavellan, but I'm not sure how to go about my Lavellan feeling anything but contempt for humans at all times. In that case, why would she help the refugees? Particularly since she thinks humans are all ungrateful ba****s.

 

I'm wondering, how do your Lavellans deal with humans and what they're outlook on helping them are? Also, how did this translate to the relationship with their human companions? I feel like I'm out of character for being anything but cold towards them.

Clan Lavellan are used to dealing with humans. It's likely that she would be used to seeing them.  As a hunter she may have traded with humans, as the First she may have gone with the Keeper to arrange passage through lands, or open relationships with human settlements.

My take on it is kind of like real life, "people are people" no matter what their ears (or anything else) are shaped like. That's just me though, so I suppose it would depend on the sort of backstory you headcanon for your Lavellan...

Likewise.  In the immediate aftermath, I figured my Lavellan would be very wary of pissing off the shems.  The Inquisition is her only buffer from execution for the death of Divine Justinia, after all.  She needs them.  I imagine her thinking, "play nice, smile, say all the right things, and maybe I can get out of here in one piece..." only to find, later on, that she actually DOES have sympathy for these humans.  Just like Solas learning to see us mortals as "real," Lavellan relatively quickly discovers that people are just people, and feels sympathy for their plight.

The reaction of my (mage) Lavellan was panic when she woke up in the dunegon of a chantry (I was going to ask here why a Chantry has a dunegon, then I remembered: it's how we've always done things in Haven.  We do not question tradition) so she was pretty aggressive with Cass.  Then she realised how bad everything was, and also relaxed a bit (on the shem panic side. Not world ending side) when she met Solas and Varric because other non-humans and also another mage.  She started to warm to Cass and Leliana after they defended her against Roderick, and covered up a lot of her fear with sarcasm when speaking to people later.  Also she had the biggest crush on Cass, which helped.

I'm guessing that clan lavellan would have had dealings with humans before, lavellan tells a story at wicked graces about humans and how they scared them off lol. I gave my lavellan a heart she cares for all no matter who they are or what they believe in.
